Good job on being very clear about the speed of the video and the robots! I always hate it when companies speed up the video without telling the viewer. Thanks for being honest, and keep up the good work!

It is like Claytronics. The Magic of Claytronics. Claytronics is Programmable Matter, Claytronics is Programmable Furniture. Claytronics is great. Excellent!.

Imagine the potential construction applications in highly radioactive environments.

That's a great starting point. Remember furniture gets really dirty.

"Humanoid form robots allow for versatility in multiple applications"
Imagine clapping hands and a dozen humanoids contort in the shape of a sofa

Very interesting video. Roombots potentially has much more applications: creating artistic installations, living walls with set of furniture popping out of them after specific commends like waving your hand (space saving), getting into very narrow and dangerous places like earthquakes traps or sewage system, building fast pathways through rivers or other terrain obstacles and so on.

The design and mechanics of it are very clever but i don't see this taking off, not for furniture anyway.

I see hundreds applications of these small cubes and I wonder if the shape of the robot itself, should not be patented. Because this is strong point of this idea.
The idea of the clips is fantastic, they should an electromagnetic field as well.
Now, here is one suggestion for the developers of this device: they should make cube as dumb as possible but when working in the network of the specialized cubes they can do amazing things.
Anyway, I am just happy for them.

The stools connect into a bench, the benches connect into a table, and then the table may later on become a Skynet airborne Non-Humanoid Hunter Killer drone.

We already have those, they're called Muricans with drones, murdering children & their families in the Middle East for profit.

These are brilliant but my fat ass would demolish those tiny little plastic grippers.

I would need a lot less stuff in my house for these things to move around, and they'd need to be a lot smaller to assemble into a pinball table.

First thing I thought... "I wonder when the first person going to be killed by his own furniture?"
Strangled byt the night side table, or crushed by the table etc...
    Cool though.

I do like the concept, but it's just that a concept.
The real problem with systems like this is in order to be durable and strong enough to be functional it also makes them dangerous.

22 cm seems to be too big for these balls, we can also have several sizes.
If each part has a unique id, the reconfiguration can be done by a central command center ( like the brain of system). This thing has nothing to do in the bedroom. I see lot of military applications for this. It is genuine idea because you have to think of these "balls" other than that this is expandable. I hope, I will be in that group of researchers . anyway ....
