    I work in fabric and textiles and identifying the sometimes minor differences between the yarn shades is very important, so it is interesting to see you liken the fragrances here to different tones and shades of red and such. Crimson red is a fave of mine.

      Thanks for this. Sometimes, minor differences are actually not quite so minor, right?

    Hello Dariush,
    For the sake of participation I would add Hypnotic Poison, like an American red velvet cake but hopefully not too sickly, and Loulou with its flash of deep red against the bright blue, because it is like a fun and happy night with a red dress.
    On the jumper debate I'd say as everyone have said, red vermillion or even orangey red, which is one of my favourites ! Reminds me of the nail varnish and lipstick shade from Revlon called Fire and Ice in the 50's- which still exists !
    Happy to see the Guerlain representatives, I love Habit Rouge and used to have La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto which I like with almonds and leather and licorice I think ! Your video made me want to revisit.
    Here in France before Valentines we just gastronomically celebrated la Chandeleur with crêpes, delicious with an orange flower water flavour in the dough ! - or rhum😊

      Yes Revlon’s Fire and Ice! I was also thinking MAC’s lady danger lipstick was the shade of that jumper

    As an adult with a massive quality fragrance collection there is something about Guerlain’s LPRN that takes the cake. I don’t have a favorite perfume but it’s up there and one that I’ll never let go of.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ah, wonderful. There's certainly a charm to the original LPRN.

    Thank you: It's a very well done review (of some of my favorites).
    Fils de joie is stunning and dark and intense and bewitching (you describe it gorgeously).
    I would love to have more colors-based reviews , its' funny yet "instructive"!

    I love the fact that you mentioned the Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday conjunction. (And you even mentioned Shrove Tuesday!!) I am meeting a friend - a minister - at a church pancake dinner on Tuesday. It brings back fond memories from when my daughter (now 35) and I used to go to Shrove Tuesday pancake dinners - until we discovered, when she was 13, that she had celiac disease. 🙄🥴

      I’m sure you know this already, but buckwheat pancakes are gluten-free… and delicious!
      Thanks very much for watching.

    As a visual artist, I was shouting that your jumper is vermillion red 😂.
    Great stream as always. So sad I wasn’t able to catch it live.
    I have 100ml of Fils De Joie. It smells so beautiful on me 😊

    I'm just catching up with your recent videos and so glad I watched this valentines list in June. 😄 I've bought Mandrine Ambre from Hermes a couple of days ago but it hasn't shipped yet so I managed to add a hefty 4 ml sample of Rose Ikebana to my order! Your description was so beautiful, I knew I had to try it, especially being a Japanology alumnus.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  4 месяца назад

      Oh, please let me know what you think of RI.

    • @missalayin
      @missalayin 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Persolaise I've tried it and it is gorgeous. It definitely has a kind of tranquility to it. I wouldn't call it zen as zen is more austere to me and I don't get the ikebana reference, because ikebana to me is much more formal with strict rules. It does make me think, however, of the traditional japanese houses, with sliding doors shōji. When you open them up completely, the house becomes one with the garden and coexists in harmony with nature. I wore RI yesterday and it made me feel that way, like it wasn't clashing with anything in my surroundings, it's hard to describe. Anyway, I'm happy I got to know it, so thank you!

    Late to the party. But so glad to see Rose Ikebana on this list. It is one of the most meditative scents. The tender experience of this perfume reveals something very noble at the heart of it. I feel content and present in the moment whenever I wear it. Need to savour my precious travel bottle, but I keep longing to go on an olfactory meditation with Rose Ikebana. I like the quiet places it takes me.

    I always imaging Fils de Joie as a dark purple. I get a huge hit of sun warmed Concord grapes complete with the tannic bite of the skin and dripping in honey. Purple for the grapes I guess for me. It’s stunning and lasts for days!
    Voleur de Rose stunning. I too have to older bottle. It’s a dark black red. Very gothic and moody. ❤️

      Yes, VdR really is quite gothic.

    Tocade was one of my very first proper perfumes, along with Patou’s Sublime 😍. So yummy. I got something fluffy and almost Tonka like with it. I bought a bottle not that long ago. I can recognise my old friend but much lighter and less complex.

    Watching and enjoying very much❤🌹. Teatro alla Scala is what I will wear on the day, a suitably operatic red. Actually, I adored all the Krizia perfumes, K and Krazy, too, they remind me of my years in NYC, 30 years ago!

    I cannot for the life of me imagine how you made the CdG Rouge bottle stand up! It's actually made to lie flat. Did you have glue or something on the bottom of the bottle?

    Spraying myself with Habit Rouge while watching. Need to revisit Toccade. Caved in yesterday and ordered Adorem + Ambre à lèvres by Nez. Very nervous but also excited about a blind buy and also sad to not have kept the promise to myself to save up for Lubin’s Akkad first as the next one on my list. Not so worried about that one selling out though, so that’s my excuse. Wonderful list as always. Thanks Mr. P!

    I tried the Ostens Rose Isparta but in the edp.
    I loved the opening, a truly wonderful and quite unique rose but was so disappointed with the drydown on my skin as it became very sweet, almost like vanillic.

    Ash Wednesday? Had no idea you were so Catholic!! Well, bah humbug to both days, w/ special apologies to my god fearing friends. Someone said religion is for people who are afraid of going to Hell, spirituality is for people who've been through it! I'd rather stay w/ the latter. I guess not being a huge rose perfume lover (love the real thing of course), I don't feel crazy about anything on today's list, except for Habit Rouge of course, thought still thoroughly enjoyed the reviews, as always! 🙏
