I'm kinda sad about this because many of the new drawings completely change who the villains are as characters. It's also regrettable that characters being heavier is seen as a negative thing and taken out in the reimagined photos. Many of them seem like entirely different people.

I think Ursula mentions something about turning herself into a squid with her powers, but I love the creativity!

that's a psychological trick used everywhere in media. Protagonists are youthful and have soft and slender features, while antagonists are angular and generally have far more exaggerated features typically considered to be "hideous" a sort of way to make the outside match the inside. The idea of making villans angular and heroes softer comes from deep seated psychological understandings of our world. It's a trick they teach all animators. Angular and harsh edges expresses anger and anxiety, sometimes excitement too. flowing lines evoke a calm feeling bubbly round features make for a happy result. They also teach this in classic 2d animation as a way of slightly altering a character to look more like the emotion they are feeling. If you look at rough sketches of mock ups, key framing and animatics you'll see the incredibly fine lines that animators use as their pencils move around a page, in Cinderella at the end where She and her Prince leave the church, Cinderella's dress is a prime example in the finished version. but I'd bet if you looked at the original sketches, you'd see big flowing motions all across the page. In The Aristocats, in the scene where the cats cling to each other under the train rushing by on the bridge, you can see it clearly in the final animation where the animators purposefully drew them as more angular to express how frightened they are.

Disney has a teen/early 20s captain hook. Tinkerbell and the pirate fairy has him in it before he lost his hand and even met Peter. By the end of the movie there is no doubt it's him.

That's actually very realistic for Cruella. The sad fact about teenage bombshells is some of them age into dried up old prunes. I think it mostly happens to the mean ones, but it could be more trying to hang onto youth than meanness that's doing it. Idk.
I'm pretty sure the Queen of Hearts would have a rounder face when she was young. More homely, too.
I noticed several of these seemed to chuck more than age. A gender swap and several race swaps too.
5:37 Captain Hook lost his hand when he wasn't a teen and he was an adult so I don't think these pictures are very accurate

I am pretty sure 13:32 is just a drawing of a teenager taking a selfie then someone put horns on it and said "boom Maleficent as a teenager!"
Exactly, if you look at the horns you can see the opacity was lowered and was colored digitally(using a digital program) as opposed to traditional coloring in the overall selfie drawing. The horns aren't event connected to the female's head properly, it actually made me laugh.

I'm sure they have, but to me it actually looks more like the person who drew it- drew it with the intention of it being a gender bend not a teenage version. I mean it could still be the teenage version but I'm leaning more to it being actually being a gender bend piece of art.

One, the dr.facilier pic was him as a girl. Two, the Jafar pic was a modern day version of him. Lastly, the Maleficent pic was literally a drawing of another person with poorly photoshopped horns. I like the fact that you want to show off this fan art and such and I appalled the fact you credit the artist but it feels like you just picked pictures out of the blue without really looking into what the theme of the video was. If you looked around a little longer I guarantee you would have found something that fit the theme better. I will however say that you gave me more of a motive to draw younger versions of Disney villains.

My maternal grandpa looked a lot like Captain Hook. We would even pretend I was one of the Lost Children, and play for hours in our living room. When he passed away after battling leukemia for over one year I was only six.
He was such a loving man. Everyone in the hood still calls my maternal family "The Neighbours", because he would start saying "Hello, neighbour!" as soon as he got through the door, and wouldn't stop until he reached the very center of the town.
