That clip at the beginning of Jane remorsefully monologuing to Mike's corpse before Andy darts past a nearby doorway with a big monster in hot pursuit is exquisite.
29:35, to see it in context. There's just something perfectly comic about seeing Andy skedaddling across the hallway with a monster lurching right behind him. Like something out of Scooby-Doo.
How close can vampires in space get to stars? They're OK with being out under the night sky, but not OK with being on the sunlit side of the planet. So it's somewhere between 1 AU and 4.25 light years.
Sixty seconds in and I had to pause until I stopped laughing. "It's just me and you now, Mike's corpse" followed by Andy's muffled "I'm okay!" being chased might be the most OX thing that ever OXed.
I love the way this game leaves you guessing as to whether people are dead or not. When Andy came out of the mist with a cash register alive and well was a glorious moment.
I'd love to see you all do this again with the Oxtra crew (There's an arachnophobia mode that replaces the spiders with just a giant word that says "SPIDER")
I know Eurogamer (plus Wheels from Dicebreaker) has been streaming this, and they discussed playing the modded version of this game that allows more than 4 players. It would be interesting to see if the entire Gamer Network could get on one stream, to combine their powers in order to reach a level of minimum competence.
25:55 "There's a rhythmic thumping... Maybe the neighbors are at it." All you've seen so far are flying starfish, giant mouths, sand worms and dog monsters, so no, don't make me think about that.
I really hope this gets brought back for Hallowstream, it'd be perfect. And that moment of Andy running by with the monster right behind him was such a Scooby Doo thing to happen.
As I've said elsewhere, the run animation in this game will never not be funny. And that clip from Jane's POV of Andy running past the doorway while being chased is a perfect example
I would love to see them play with the mimic mode. The game listens to your conversations and takes snipits and plays it back through a creature. So you'll think it's your friend but then it is a creature.
That sounds unsettling. Only played this once so far, so haven't seen most of the monsters. I almost died when I finally figured out what the arachnophobia mode is because I started laughing instead of cheesing.
Of course, I enjoy all of y'all's livestreams, but I really appreciate this one being a classic, edited gameplay video - so many of the streams I've watched of this game ended up being _too_ chaotic (and not in the fun sense), with the in-game audio filter, suddenly disappearing voices, and whatnot. The multiple POV's actually showing each person's clear audio really helped, and, on top of that, the cut to Mike's perspective when the other two didn't even realise that he'd died was absolute gold, haha.
Ox Coop Shenanigans are the best. This had so many classic funny moments. I can’t decide which was better; Jane and Mike’s corpse watching Andy run away from the monster or Andy appearing out of the fog triumphantly carrying his cash register!
The ice cream truck music coupled with the "dog" snarling and everyone panicking absolutely sent me into a coughing fit from laughing so hard. "You'll anger it." "I want it to give me money." I don't know why, but that exchange is delightful. Somehow this game needs to be worked into the Christmas challenge rota.
"It's just you and me now, Mike's corpse." Why do I get the feeling this is not the first time Jane has said that exact sentence? Classic Oxbox shenanigans. Thank you for doing what you do!
I love how after finally finding enough scrap metal to meet their quota, Mike survives the mission just to die at the end by pissing off their client. 😂
When we were kids, on nights when my mom was working outside the home through supper, Dad played a role-playing sort of imagination game in which we worked for "the company" exploring new planets. We were given various improbable cramped ships (for example, one in which we were crammed into the nose of a giant spaceship and told the rest was engine, but we heard pool noises, ping-pong, etc.) to discover strange planets.
This game is perfect for Oxbox! I’m glad to see my favorite RUclipsrs play something I’ve been getting into recently because it’s much more fun to watch if you’re familiar with the team
So to sum up, Mike got heavily radiation poisoned, Jane got grossly oozed on and Andy may or may not be pregnant with a Xenomorph, after a face hugging incident. Combine that with the threat of weird space monsters and moody corporate overlords and you got yourself the job of a lifetime, as long as you don’t care about the length of said lifetime, that is
Mike: “I’m starting to feel like the red shirt on this trip.” 😂 This was great! The effects on the comms are such a fantastic gimmick that had me dying laughing. The echoing voices that grow faint as they grow distant, the muffled sounds from the face hugger…amazing
Hey guys, do you know what I'd love to see? One of those 1v4 in-the-chair, interview style videos where you each talk about the first thing you wrote that got published in the world of gaming. What it meant to you at the time, how you've developed as writers since then, etc... I really like when you guys speak from the heart and riff with each other and there's no denying you're all very gifted writers, and I think some of us would enjoy hearing about how that came to be :)
I'm sure you guys are aware, but there are mods that allow more than four players per session. So, you can have the entire Ox Box crew (Ellen and Luke) in one game. You could even do a Eurogamer collab as well since the current mod player limit is 32. Favorite part was when Mike suggested they go back for Andy's body, and Jane flat out saying, "I don't need that noise" 😂 BTW, that big empty room with the carpet is where the monsters spawn, so yeah. Also, the game is like Phasmo, where players can stay in the ship and monitor others. They can help them avoid creatures, deactivate turrets and other hazards, turn on lights, etc.
I love how all three perspectives were edited together for peak comedic timing! You should absolutely use the mod that lets you have more players and get Oxtra and/or Eurogamer in on this. It’s much easier to progress with more people, and then you can try out the moons that you have to pay to get to.
nice work on the edits, made it harder to know if some people were still alive or not also poor Mike, was one of the deaths because someone rang the bell to many times i wonder
Good to finally see oxbox taking on the lethal company! Would love to see a continuation, maybe get you to some of the harder (but more valuable loot) moons! Also, for future reference, you can carry multiple smaller items of scrap, you just need to put down big two-hand items (axles, cash register, engine etc.) and then pick them up last.
Oh, it's a RUclips simulator! You have 4 days to collect 7 things that look like they might be fun, and turn them in for arbitrary and capricious amounts of currency units.
I've been watching lots of Lethal Company the last few weeks/months(?) it so nice to see people who a starting the game fresh and discovering everything new. Really hope for more its great to see some of my favourite youtubers playing one of my new favourite games.
This was SO GOOD - Oxbox in proximity chat with all those effects was class. Please do more of these!! Don't know who edited it, but the comic timing was just A++++++++++++
Been hoping that you would all play this, seems like a perfect fit and it didn't disappoint. Now I'm hoping that you all play it again. "Bees! Bees!" lol
Omg I've been watching other channels play this but Oxboxtra have always been my favorite channel on YT so you have no idea how happy i am to see you guys playing this. I always thought this game would be perfect for you "comedians". 😂Hope we get a livestream too!
@@fabianlaibin6956 oh, man I hope so. I'd honestly be happy with just having Luke and Ellen and maybe Johnny. But the whole shebang would be so chaotic.
That clip at the beginning of Jane remorsefully monologuing to Mike's corpse before Andy darts past a nearby doorway with a big monster in hot pursuit is exquisite.
If someone said to you "Show me a clip that best personifies Outside Xbox" that would probably be my new go to
29:35, to see it in context.
There's just something perfectly comic about seeing Andy skedaddling across the hallway with a monster lurching right behind him. Like something out of Scooby-Doo.
Haha yeah a golden moment that's for sure
Read this before it got to that part
Less said: expectations exceeded
First Presh Memory of 2024: Unlocked.
29:45 Andy running across the end of the corridor after yelling "I'm being chased! I'm being chased!" really tickled me.
Reminded me of scooby doo!
Me too, it felt like a Scooby Doo bit
Mike: "What's wrong with an eclipse?"
Jane: "Space vampires."
The most Jane a response it is possible to craft 😀
Jane, please make sure to pass that along to Russell T Davies
I'm a little disappointed no one made a Pitch Black reference. This game seems ripe for a Riddick.
The fact she immediately said that without pausing to think of it makes it so much better
Dracula 3000!
How close can vampires in space get to stars? They're OK with being out under the night sky, but not OK with being on the sunlit side of the planet. So it's somewhere between 1 AU and 4.25 light years.
Andy scooby doo running away from a monster while Jane watches with Mike's corpse is peak comedy ahhahahahah
Jane: “goodbye Mike”
Savage.
It is even funnier that Mike finds out about what Jane did after the video was posted. He made a tweet about it. 😂
@@KizMyname I didn’t know that! You’re right, that does make it better 😅
Andy triumphantly proclaiming "here he comes" from the horizon as Jane and Mike looked on wondering whether he had died or not was pure cinema.
Your added "X Days Left" is a very nice, forboding touch.
Andy being chased by a monster while Jane watches was just *peak* comedic timing 😂
I'd love to see you all do this again with the Oxtra crew (There's an arachnophobia mode that replaces the spiders with just a giant word that says "SPIDER")

Too late. 🤣
Mike's timing on 'oh maybe the neighbours are at it' made me loose it 😂
Too late! *Unf-unf-unf-unf...*
16:43 Jane: "Oh, there's a vent!"
Andy: "That's pretty sus!" 😂 I see what you did there
Better keep away from it then
What they don't know is that vents are where the monster spawns.
Mike dying trying to recover a flashlight is exactly the way you would think he'd go out if this was real.
“I hear a chittering and skittering!” is the most British reaction to an unknown, possibly harmful creature lurking about the dark I’ve ever heard.
"I seem to hear a chittering and a skittering, I do." She said as she took a sip of tea and indulged in beans on toast.
You can get used to anything...
I think the devs made the animations purposefully funny to cut the tension?
I would love to see them play with the mimic mode. The game listens to your conversations and takes snipits and plays it back through a creature. So you'll think it's your friend but then it is a creature.
That sounds unsettling. Only played this once so far, so haven't seen most of the monsters. I almost died when I finally figured out what the arachnophobia mode is because I started laughing instead of cheesing.
I think that one's called skin-walkers mod; the mimic mod is the one that adds… "extra" fire-exits… 😈
I hope we get to see more of Mike's Red Shirt Adventures in Space
"Why couldn't we have joined Non-lethal Company?"
“I’m being chased!”
*Andy runs across doorway like Woody from Toy Story*
Andy (frantically): I'm being chased! I'm being chased!
[runs Scooby-Doo-style across the hall]
29:46 - Jane's POV of Andy running past the doorway with a monster right behind was a real cartoon moment. And absolutely hilarious 😂

Mike, the canary of the Lethal Company...
An eclipse means it's night right away. The scary stuff mostly comes out at night.
Mostly.
Mostly.
Mostly.
Mostly

I need more of this please! Perfect for Hallowstream 2024
Andy finding those keys made him a real master of unlocking.
Not even 2 minutes in is probably a record for Mum Jane to come out and tell her oldest Mike to not do something 😅😅😅😅
"It's just you and me now, Mike's corpse." Why do I get the feeling this is not the first time Jane has said that exact sentence?

Please ox... May we please have some more...?🤲

Great editing on this! Good to hear the voices from the afterlife 😆
12:10 to 45 is seriously just a perfect encapsulation of this channel
Mike: “I’m starting to feel like the red shirt on this trip.” 😂

Have been watching Eurogamer play so much lethal company and it's brilliant! So glad to see y'all playing! ♥ Can't wait for the cross over.
"Welcome to the afterlife" ... "In the afterlife
You could be headed for the serious strife"
Now you make the scene all day
But tomorrow there'll be Hell to pay
I'm with Jane, in that I, too, thought V6 and V8 referred to valves. I learned something!
I'm glad to see the meticulous teamwork of OxBox continues.
Mike's not THE redshirt. The great thing about this game is everyone is the redshirt! Love this game. Fingers crossed we get another part
True, though I'm pretty sure Andy dying to the flea was the only time Mike didn't die first. 😂
I mean he seems to die before anyone else.
Poor Mike, you're just not cut out for Space Amazon
Nice to see you guys finally play Phasmogus.

Gotta get a cross-channel game going. I need to see how the Space Buddies fare taking on this job.
you can hold more than one scrap, you just can't hold more than one hands full item or scroll off of a hands full item.
Yeah that's driving me mad, watching them think that they can only get one thing per person lol
32:22 Absolutely dying at them all celebrating their luck and then completely ignoring the fire exit 😂
jane: this is our first day!
me brain immediately, in Andy's 47 voice: It's My First Day...
I'm glad that you guys have played Lethal Company, the Eurogamer streams of them playing this game have been alot of fun.
They saved themselves by ordering stuff so the dog gets distracted to the delivery noise, without knowing it. That's hilarious.
I'm not even past the preview clips and Mike's already the Ian Higton of this team.
Yall are literally the only channel I wanted to see play this lol

Mike: Andy you can be our science officer.
29:45 is a real Scooby-Doo moment
I would love to see you guys play more Lethal Company! Particularly with Luke if possible! This was a blast :)
Andy's muffled "ahhhhs"😂 such a good let's play guys!
Mike: "I'll just have a quick look! I can get down and get it."
Andy: "No!"
Jane: "AH AH AH AHOO AHEE AHOO"
jane: they didn't even give us a window
"windows are structural weaknesses, the company does not use them"
nice work on the edits, made it harder to know if some people were still alive or not
also poor Mike, was one of the deaths because someone rang the bell to many times i wonder
I desperately want a stream of this! Multiple streams to show every individual perspective!
I could watch team OX play this every week. Always a hilarious time when they are running for their lives in space.

Jane dancing to the delivery sound is adorable. This was so fun to watch I loved it
They're a bit late, but this gives me hope of a cross channel EG/OX/DB company game
Surprised they didn't suggest using the dustpan to scoop Mike's remains.
This can only end well (for the monsters probably, and/or Jane)
If there's one thing the game taught me, it's that it's definitely not for Redshirt Mike

I really hope you guys make a part 2. I also hope we continue the running joke of Mike always dying horribly. That way we can get a compilation later.

Didn't know how much I had missed the multiplayer let's plays until this stream came along. Week saved! 🤘😄💚
29:35 might be the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I actually laughed out loud by myself :D

Quite smart of jane to have figured out the dog is eyeless so quickly
