      Not available in India. Safepal S1 yes and quite satisfied. I want to know how to add Matic but in Bep20 mode. I want to know how to add genuine contracts as there are so many fake ones online. Hoe to add genuine contracts of Tokens or coins in Bep20 ? Or USDT in TRC20?

      I have had nothing but problems with this device. And I wanted to like it. You can't transfer your BTC off once on the Zero! The device freezes up dozens and dozens of times.... and won't let me transfer my BTC off or my SOL. The Solana requires a transfer message and coinbase does not require one.!!! I'm NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH THIS PRODUCT

No updates, no defi, no coin support, transaction fee problems, the fingerprint scanner is not working, the QR code camera not working, the battery is a joke, my friend changed it 5 times already! I changed it 2 times already. I regret buying it! Thx for your recommendation. Wasted money.

    I bought one this November at black friday offer + gift (screen protector). I was very suprised of the materials there is been used!
    It feels really you get something for your money. I love this wallet!
    There is one issue, battery doesn't last very long. Max 1 and half hour.
    I hope they add battery saver mode in the next firmware update. Or any update which they could make the battery last longer!
    I used ledger x before, buttons on them is very weak and got replaced 2 already.

    • @jflhr
      @jflhr 2 года назад +2

      Same reason I won't buy it. I hold Solana, Ftm, Theta Network, ect. It could be the most secure wallet of the entire universe but you have to hold just BTC or ETH because those are basically the apps that it has(exagerating a little bit). It sucks for me. They have to work faster on the coin support or they are not gonna grow as a company in my opinion. Better experience with ledger with way more functions of staking and a ton of tokens and coins. Ledger still the #1

      @@jflhr It also supports Solana with the new firmware update. You really shouldn't be holding too many alt coins anyway ;) They now support NFTs as well, which is why I got it, but I may use it for my other crypto holdings as well.

      People are dumb enough to pay $400 for this device. Besides the government issue, the developers can create a back door to your private keys. Like ledger and trezor.

  • @mschwaller3371

    While the Zero sounds pretty cool at first being 'fully airgapped' but how do you get new apps onto it? How can you make sure those apps cannot somehow export the key using the QR code being displayed?
    I would also appreciate an explanation how it is prevented that you might install a bad firmware update that might leak data? My worry is that someone at NGRAVE has the private key to sign a firmware update and might give them a lot of power if they manage to publish a bad firmware update that potentially transfers all you coins to their account when you make your next transaction. Personally i haven't found a solution to this except never updating or installing apps and hoping for the best - not cool :/
    Also their backup plates are pretty cool and I like that they split it up in two codes but having the front plate with the numbers/letters you might be able to detect color/stains of the tool inside the holes. This would make the base plate obsolete. Might be hard to actually implement but i would keep that in mind before storing millions ;-) This issue can be easily solved by going through alle the holes after making the baseplate indentations, against a wooden plate or something.
    Ok turns out is has a USB port to update the firmware ... air gap principle broken :/

      Adding to your really pertinent questions mine: if they go bankrupt, is it possible to recover it elsewhere?

    • @mschwaller3371
      @mschwaller3371 Год назад +1

      @@VamosViverFora Actually they provided me with detailed information via mail support. Bene is doing a great job there and it boils down to multiple guys signing the firmware. While not being perfect it convinced me that they do their best. Unlike Ledger I would find it highly unlikely they would issue a firmware that allows you to export the private key. Sadly, coin support is still pretty limited. Hopefully some investor can put an end to this!
      With the recovery words you can restore anywhere basically.

    What happens if NGRAVE goes bankrupt, or is shut down? How would you restore your wallet on another hardware type with the Ultimate Backup code in that case? Or, even with just the hexadecimal key? Are there other wallets that would restore your crypto accounts through hexadecimal authentication in the event you would need to? It would be pointless to punch anything other than the mnemonic phrase into the steel plate, correct? But again, then how do you get a replacement upper plate if the company goes away? Thus not being able to recover the phrase

    • @cryptorenegade
      @cryptorenegade  2 года назад +11

      If they device fails, breaks, or otherwise is destroyed, the hexidecimal private key, which can be converted into a 24 word seed phrase can be used to restore all private keys to a new wallet using the bip39 standard (which is 99% of all wallets). Hope this helps! Cheers!

    My not so positive NGrave Zero thoughts…
    • The ‘secret key’ can be easily displayed from the settings mode meaning that this 8x8, 64 digit key is protected only by the 8 digit pin or in the case of 2FA the 8 digit pin and your finger print which I found works inconsistently at best.
    • Air gapped is perfect, what I didn’t realize and found out the hard way is that 2 of my exchanges cannot handle this in their address verification process. This is part of the KYC and I believe regulated in the Netherlands. I guess I can withdraw to my Nano X and then teleport to the NGrave but inconvenient at least.
    • Battery charging, perhaps I have a bad unit but the unit will loose charge even when on a charger and the only way to restart charging is by unplugging and plugging the USB C cable.
    • Not sure what the consequences of wiping the device are - also protected only by the 8 digit pin and any 2FA if you have activated that.
    Looks like a pretty cool device, bummer I can’t seem to use it as I had already emptied my non-Netherlands exchange crypto and am left with the verification complexity.

    • @topouzidd
      @topouzidd Год назад +1

      The charging thing you mentioned has something to do with your charger and charge protocol signing. I used to have this problem when I plugged my iPhone to a Samsung charger. If it stopped charging for some reason, I'd have to unplug and plug again to continue charging. Then I changed charger and it works as expected. Try a different charger on your NGrave.

    the liquid app i.e. the software will generate the QR code that needs to be scanned with the ZERO, how are we going to know if this QR code is not compromise? Since this app is design by the company itself, can the QR code generation be a insider job? Esp if the last line of defence, the user did not verify the last step before sending the cryptos... he will be ending up send his coins to an unknown address... Is this scenario real? pls advise. And is there a liquid app on PC? why not have one?

    • @NGRAVE
      @NGRAVE 2 года назад +2

      Hi Richie, this actually illustrates our choice for QR codes as security feature well. You can scan our QR codes with any device you want to see what's inside of it. So if there is anything hidden there, we will be called out immediately by our users. Also, if a hacker would change your QR code, same thing. You will always see on your ZERO what you are about to sign - the Sign Is What Your See principle. Contrary, USB or BLE doesn't allow for this and makes it a full black box experience. You actually have security through transparency with QR codes.
      Regarding LIQUID on PC; a web version may come in the future. We have not decided on this yet.

      Mine doesn’t last more than 2 hours but once I figure the device out and get comfortable with it it really won’t take long to sign a transaction so the battery life won’t be an issue.
