Thanks for highlighting this beautiful side of dub techno, Dub Monitor!
Ambient Dub Techno is less rhythmic and dynamic and features more pads and feeling of space compared to a more dancefloor tracks of the genre.
Na fe throw it Version by Round Five has always been one of favourites in ambient dub techno style. Just how it is spacey and down to earth at the same time makes me excited.
Other related tracks I'd like to mention: Bruit Blanc - Le Cosmos, Altone - Synapse, Cold - Fractal Memory, Arovane - Struktur 1, ashen - asylum, Hydergine - Retrofitted Future, Aura Fresh - Jegesch, Liquid Delay - D3 P02, ...

krill.minima's “Radiodub EP” (2003) is my all-time favorite in this style. It’s absolutely suffused with background noise - shortwave static, vinyl crackle, tape hiss - out of which slow dub-techno stabs roll like ocean waves. It’s debatable whether there’s any “techno” to it at all, but there is an implied beat that the sounds sync to. It’s hypnotic and dreamlike, and I often listen to it to help me go to sleep. (k.m. Is an alias of the somewhat better-known Marsen Jules, IRL Martin Juhls.)

Being from the UK me and my mates first came across what we would have called ambient dub with the Orb's perpetual dawn in 91 and the towers of dub from 92. Dance Hall was an influence in the late 80's rave scene and ambient dub was popular with the new age free festival scene in the early 90's. You can hear this influence in Primal Scream's higher than the sun from 91 and also in Left Field's Leftism album from 95.

Dear Dub Monitor, I really like your channel and appreciate the work you put in it. I was thinking if one day maybe you could make a video about the more reggea style/ dubstep dub techno (which I truly love from my heart). Artists like Babe Roots, SND & RTN, Another Channel, Masis, Frenk Dublin and of course Rhythm & Sound . I know it's quite underground, and somewhat far from the usual dub "techno" but I would love to hear your thoughts about this topic! Greetings and love from Budapest, Hungary.

Most of the tracks are well known to me, but new names and tracks to discover are always precious for my ears, so thank you very much for recommenations ;) When i think about my definition of ambient dub techno, i perceive it as not rigid genre: for me it can incorporate various rythmics, both slow, fast and syncopated - as long as emphasis on atmospheric and emotional melodies is put. Thus from myself i want to highly recommend my beloved ambient dub (but not techno) album from my countryman from Poland - "Worship Nothing" by Hatti Vatti (Piotr Kaliński), released by New Moon Recordings in 2014. I can't count how many times i have listened to this, how much i love it's neon-like sound (perfectly matching with album cover) and night, moody atmosphere, accompanied with variously syncopated rythmics and great both co-production and vocal featurings (Versa, Synkro, Cian Finn, Sara Brylewska are my highlights) and overall impressionistic but emotional charge. I am very happy i finally bought my physical copy of this LP on CD . Thank you very much once more for recommenations, and your channel and warm greetings from 🇵🇱😊

Love your videos man. It's nice to have music as a discussion rather than just gear reviews and tutorials... so much of this already out there so this is very refreshing. I'm a veteran when it comes to Ambient/Techno/House. Maybe in a future video you could go back a little further in time and talk about some of our godfathers of Ambient house and instrumental music such as The Orb and Thomas Fehlmann. Hardly anyone talks about them, well they are not that popular anymore but they were pioneers back in the day. Anyway keep it up and thanks for your great works.

Interesting. I always thought of The Orb, FSOL, Warp stuff like Aphex Twin, Autechre and all the guys on EM:T (Woob) as the original Ambient Dub / Ambient Techno producers. Ultramarine were my faves. I mean the Orb's first two albums 1990-92 are both ambient and really dubby (as in Dub Reggae) and the first Beyond Records "Ambient Dub" compilation with Higher Intelligence Agency and Banco de Gaia etc was 1993. Ambient itself has its roots in Minimalism with contributions from Pink Floyd along the way to Brian Eno's coining of the term. Discogs describes Basic Channel as Techno/Dub Techno with no mention of ambient. It seems to be related to Autechre and also to Drum and Bass/Jungle too though. It's definitely nice to hear about stuff other than from the UK. Hmm lumpers vs splitters. Thanks anyway. I definitely learned some things. Be Well. Greetings from Berlin x x

I heard Pole's 1 - 3 for the first time in the late 00's. For me, 2 had the most magic and it really had me gripped for a long time. At the time I had never heard anything quite like those records. I was coming to them from a primarily guitar centric music background (though the range of that background was broad and included experimental artists). In thinking back now, the only other record that comes to mind as an indicator that I *might* get into Pole is the record Motion Pool by Main.

Hey, thanks for your videos. I love the aesthetics, your stories, and, of course, the sound. I understand the term Ambient Dub Techno mostly through Pole's work so my suggestions include incredibly subdued tones and rhythms like:
    Daniel Stefanik - Reactivity 1
    Rhythm & Sound - Imprint
    Office of Passion - Навигация
    Crazy (spicy) bonus:
    Office of Passion - Chihnul
And, depending on how someone defines term ambient, I think I'd like to suggest two more unpopular tracks which have more defined rhythm sections and melodies, nevertheless are both by incredible artists and are definitely worth a mention:
Das Kraftfuttermischwerk - Downunder the Moon
    Oak - Starbird
    Stay cool!

Again, amazing episode, your channel is excellent and always learn something.
I have been following this genre since the Basic Channel and Chain Reaction days.
One thing I have not given much time to understanding is the Rhythm and Sound direction, while I do enjoy it, I have not dove into the history of how it came to be and where it went, you have touched on it many times. Any chance of a dedicated episode?
Also the sometimes challenging to listen to character Vladislav Delay, I have not heard much about him, but I know he is a key player, sometimes he is quite a challenge to listen to, but much respected for his productions.
Again, I can't praise your channel enough, I recommend it to everyone I know who follows this genre and they agree.
    Thank you again.

I don't think it quite fits, as it's a little more techy/minimal, but I've often felt that some of SND's stuff sits in this realm somehow (an example ruclips.net/video/BTv_2XMexCM/видео.html ) Thoughts on SND? (see also ruclips.net/video/fkWvwrhyAOE/видео.html )
