I'm at the point now I believe the thermostat is probably faulty. I've had the fridge more than two years what should I do? Defrosted at least several times same problem.
They are not going to get Haier to conceed that the technolgy is flawed. They send out the service engineer until the warranty runs out. The new fridge has a 10 year warranty.
@@SkillBuilder There is a fit for purpose law, it lasts for i think 6 years, but folks don't realise, though you do have to show it's the product at fault. I would of probably said fridge sensor because of the irratic temperature, but if you load your fridge up too much or keep opening the door how will the fridge temperature stay accurate 😉
That's interesting. I didn't know there were fridges that shared the evaporator. Having said that, we've had an American style Samsung for about 8 years and it's a nightmare - the defrosting system doesn't work properly so the evaporator and fan constantly get clogged with ice. On top of that, the insulation in the cover over the evaporator is unsealed expanded polystyrene, which gets saturated with water, losing its insulating properties in the process making the problem even worse (or, more likely being the cause of the problem in the first place). Utter junk. Next time, I'll go for a Bosch or Liebherr - saving a few hundred quid on something you plan to last years just isn't worth the hassle. Oh, and another warning to folks thinking about buying one of these new style fridges that don't have the conventional flat heat exchanger on the back, but instead use a coiled-up hear exchanger with a fan is they are a nightmare to clean, as you can't get to most of it and so you need a compressor to blow the dust off, which is needed every six months as they are mounted at floor level with the fan constantly blowing all the muck over it.
Too many moving parts and too much focus on cost. The best fridge freezers are those with the freezer at the top. These effectively have twin evaporators and no air mixing. Only one extremely reliable moving part, the compressor. The whole lining of the freezer gets cold and the back of the fridge. Mine is Beko (so cheap) but will outlast these things with a thousand moving parts ten times over!
Ha! we love a bit of grumps. When one of your kids or grand kids becomes the next Damien Hurst or whoever and those pictures are fetching a million quid a go you will regret the fact that you were such a philistine.
It may not do you any harm but there are no positives benefits. It is essentially distilled water that has been frozen. It contains nothing to fight microbes and it is a mistake to think that microbes can't live in ice. That said there are plenty of more risky things out there.
@@SkillBuilder ok thank you so much sir for your kind reply 🙏🙏 I always eat it but my father scold me that it's harmful for your health bcz it's made from the gas of fridge😂

You get what you pay for with refrigeration, the cheap fridges use unbranded Chinese compressors and electrics that generally last long enough to go just out of warranty and I would never buy a fridge with a plastic back plate 🔥
Sounds like a sales video for new refrigerators. You're making a bad decision buying those new ones. You'll have a lot more problems than you think and you'll wish you would've kept that side x side refrigerator. Good luck!
You won't go wrong with a Samsung Roger... They're in a league of their own. Up to Japanese standards and more in some respects. Had one for some years now, and its been moved around when I've done kitchen improvements and all sorts. No problems... Same with their washing machines.
@@SkillBuilder They normally live in houses lol. but seriously for a moment, a twin cooler unit has the same amount of working parts as two separate units. But has the disadvantage of being tied together, so one side dies and you end up replacing the whole unit, where if you have separates you can get matching units and if one dies you just replace one. you can even get double high fridges and freezers. Of course it spoils the ' american fridge' look a bit.

Or do what I am going to do & have a seperate fridge & freezer!
What's the name of that part that was replaced?
Too many moving parts and too much focus on cost. The best fridge freezers are those with the freezer at the top. These effectively have twin evaporators and no air mixing. Only one extremely reliable moving part, the compressor. The whole lining of the freezer gets cold and the back of the fridge. Mine is Beko (so cheap) but will outlast these things with a thousand moving parts ten times over!
My new fridge will be magnet and kids school picture proof
Ha! we love a bit of grumps. When one of your kids or grand kids becomes the next Damien Hurst or whoever and those pictures are fetching a million quid a go you will regret the fact that you were such a philistine.
@@SkillBuilder but i will have a good clean fridge 😉
Sir I always eat this foggy ice
Is it's bad for health?
It may not do you any harm but there are no positives benefits. It is essentially distilled water that has been frozen. It contains nothing to fight microbes and it is a mistake to think that microbes can't live in ice. That said there are plenty of more risky things out there.
@@SkillBuilder ok thank you so much sir for your kind reply 🙏🙏
I always eat it but my father scold me that it's harmful for your health bcz it's made from the gas of fridge😂
I’ve been advised by people in the appliance repair business that parts for both Samsung and LG appliances are near impossible to get if yours is more than 5-6 years old.
Never been a fan of that type of fridge freezer. Waste of time and space. IMO.
Just out of curiosity, I've got a cheap fridge freezer but with the freezer below. Similar problems to you, would it also be using a similar system?
Without a doubt, same old crap different brand
Any idea why my indesit ff (normal top bottom design) is freezing everything in the fridge section? thx
It is the same problem. Icing up of the flap
Separate fridge/separate freezer and if one fails you don't have to pay double
2 years old - Haier that's a disgrace.
China?
Hi
My kenwood fridge also builds up with ice although there was part replacement. Please tell me what is that device called the one that opens and closes. Thanks
Wind gate
Damper vent
what's the flap board called ?
flippy Mcflipface
i have one of them roger i got rid off her o the peace and quite fridge is still f though
lol nice done
You get what you pay for with refrigeration, the cheap fridges use unbranded Chinese compressors and electrics that generally last long enough to go just out of warranty and I would never buy a fridge with a plastic back plate 🔥
And what was the cause of the problem?
jamming, it didn't like the bump fire.
Sounds like a sales video for new refrigerators. You're making a bad decision buying those new ones. You'll have a lot more problems than you think and you'll wish you would've kept that side x side refrigerator. Good luck!
Thanks for your doom and gloom, the fridge is working perfectly. I love it so that is cool
No need to keep your eggs in the fridge, Roger.
Tell my wife, I wouldn't dare.
You won't go wrong with a Samsung Roger... They're in a league of their own. Up to Japanese standards and more in some respects. Had one for some years now, and its been moved around when I've done kitchen improvements and all sorts. No problems... Same with their washing machines.
Samsungs are trash
Well maybe you had a bad one... it happens... 😂
Refrigerators Do not make cold air. comment please
He looks like gordon ramsay
But how can you fix a freezer
give it to an Eskimo
You could just buy a separate fridge and freezer like normal folk.
Normal folk? Who are they, where do they live?
@@SkillBuilder They normally live in houses lol. but seriously for a moment, a twin cooler unit has the same amount of working parts as two separate units. But has the disadvantage of being tied together, so one side dies and you end up replacing the whole unit, where if you have separates you can get matching units and if one dies you just replace one. you can even get double high fridges and freezers. Of course it spoils the ' american fridge' look a bit.
@@billystead4598 Only the one compressor needed in a twin system
@@peepiepo you're right, i didn't differentiate between twin cooling and twin compressor, my bad.
This is an advertisement not a fix.
Nobody paid for this, it is merely pointing out a design fault
Where's the 🍺🍺🍺🍺's
I am English I prefer my beer at room temperature. Cooling beer kills the flavour and that is a scientific fact
Samsung never let me down either

What the hell is a quid
Now come on fella we know you are joking with us. A quid is a squid without the 's'
@@SkillBuilder ah yes
You can do a easy fix, but Samsung and don’t be tight!
buy cheep buy twice.
If it fails out of the wrapper, get a replacement. Letting an engineer come within a week of purchase - especially more than once - is being very generous to the shop. After that, a refund is in order.
By the way, a bowl of salt in the bottom of the fridge can completely clear odour.
or a sliced onion in half
I’d just love to be s service engineer coming to your house Roger,!!! NOT!!
Worst nightmare for some newbie coming in your house suggesting what was wrong?
Just go and join the foreign legion newbie engineer.
