The season had SO much potential. The big issue is that it was supposed to be MHxCoven and it ended up being coven 2.0 I think a major problem was that they had NO clue what to do. It feels like they wrote the episodes as they filmed. I think a better solution would've been having half of the season being told from murder house/coven, maybe Michael is causing chaos because he can free souls, including MH/Hotel, which prompts the witches to do an investigation. Instead of fighting, the warlocks work with the witches to hunt Michael until he causes the apocalypse. Then the rest of the season is dealing with that and how the warlocks and witches are finally working together with the voodoo clan. Most of archs can remain the same, even Mallory's time travel power can remain but she cannot interfere. She can talk and interact with people but not interfere or change things, so they can use this to garner info about Michael. Hell, Mallory could've lost power and accidentally time travel back to the 1st supreme and they could've done SO much. Imagine that the 1st supreme is so powerful that she forces Mallory to go back with her. They could've done something crazy like that and, instead of reversing time, all of them work together to take down Michael and restore the world to certain normalcy and then the plot twist of these 2 chars making the new Satan is revealed. Again, there's a lot of potential but I personally believe that the biggest reason why this season flopped was because Ryan didn't wanted to do it. In fact i think the huge decline since Hotel has to do because of him. It's clear that he doesn't gives shit about it but he doesn't allow anyone else to touch it or just to let it go.
i dont know how about that last part is because delicate is not written by him. he’s just a producer. and i’m pretty sure he hasn’t been heavily involved since Hotel because that’s when the murphy-isms seem to slow down. particularly post covid(due to his 20 projects he does every year.) i’m sure he just hands them to whatever ghostwriter. i mean manny coto wrote half of apocalypse and half of AHStories. then him and brad wrote a good portion of Double Feature together. in each of those seaosons, Ryan only worked on 1-2 episodes. And those are the worst imo. NYC was great tho. Although so far Delicate is pretty good without him
I loved your comment and all your ideas and observations. It did feel more like “Coven 2.0” than a Murder House/Coven cross over. 💯 And absolutely, it would’ve been a million times better if they skipped the novelty of the screwy timeline and just told the tale as it would’ve unfolded, saving the lead up to the Blast, then the post-Apocalyptic stuff for the very end. I mean, since they weren’t actually going to be focusing on the Apocalypse and the underground bunkers and future of humanity characters anyway, why not?
The Morning After is one of my favorite episodes ever. Its the best example of how terrifying Michael can be but for some reason they really wanted us to feel sorry for him, but its tired and doesn't work bc of how underdeveloped Meade is. We also could have gotten a better warlock school subplot with corruption and blood orgies but nope...

I managed to clock one or two from before he privated them all and they were so adorable! I asked him to unprivate them and he said no because they're bad 😭😭
This entire season feels like someone from Coven got trapped in their “hell” doing the seven wonders. Like that would have been a better plot line than whatever Ryan Murphy was writing.
ARRRGH! As a pagan I so hate that they called male witches 'warlocks'. Warlock means 'oath breaker' or 'liar'. Why couldn't they have gone for wizard, or, hey, MALE WITCHES?!
I just have to say this. Of course I love the Coven-Crew...but something bothers me: When the witches show up, NOBODY stays dead. "Resurrection" is a plot-device that I absolutely loathe. It makes me feel like a fool for wasting my feelings on the death-scene of a character who comes back in the next episode (or within the next few minutes, sometimes). ...just had to get that off of my chest.
Agree, it’s so soap opera-y. GUESS WHO DIDN’T REALLY DIE???? Ha ha ha-PSYCH!! Oh, were you completely crushed b/c you’d invested so much, and now have a sense of betrayal? Too bad! Har har har!
It bothers me that the act of removing Moyra's body from the property released her spirit. What about the other ghosts stuck there who's bodies were never left on the property at all? Tate's body wasn't left there. Vivian and Ben weren't left there. Elizabeth Short was ABSOLUTELY not left there! I would be willing to bet that the VAST majority of the spirits didn't have their bodies left on the property. I'm glad Moyra is free...but, the reason for her release does not hold water canonically.
yeah i immediately knew that it was not meant to be taken so seriously, its pure fan service and i was pretty excited about that alone. i had so much fun watching it.
I really liked Murder House and Coven. So when they made a season that called back to both, I was sold. But yeah, it was a mess. The thing that saved it for me was Cody Fern. He was fabulous 🎉
Fantastic video for such a bummer of a season! LMAO I was just as frustrated as you fr! It's still silly goofy fun ig but yk,,, but ANYWHO cant wait for 1984 whenever/if ya feel up to it ! Happy New Year n thank you for the amazing content! B sure to take a well deserved break! 🤍🤍
It definitely could've been better but some of my favorite moments are in this season. Murder house episode is great THE STEW IS STU!! Moira being reunited with her mom never fails to make me bawl. Mallory just mauling Michael over with a range rover or whatever is so terrible its funny. Madison and Billy Porters character trying to pass off as a straight couple will never not be funny to me. This is also the first season I jumped on as it was airing (had never watched it before) and it was the first show I started watching with my now fiance. Once the coven witches came back he was like WAIT WE GOTTA BACK UP. That brought about my love for this series as we then went and binged murder house and coven
One thing that bothers me in AHS was that the revelation of witches existence didn’t seem to make people faze or shook the world. I mean these are a bunch of people with magical abilities to set people on fire, move things with their mind or even resurrect the dead (which defy scientific law). I was expecting the government to hunt these people and keep them locked for experiments
Ok sue me but I love this season. I love that they go through all the trouble to go back in time just to run over teenage Michael. So slay. I love everything that Billy Eichner does. The wigs on him and Evan Peters are everything. Kathy Bates as a devil worshipper is iconic. Cody Fern’s hair is legendary. Billy Porter is Billy Porter. No explanation necessary. And THE RETURN OF JESSICA LANGE. Yes this season is FULL of missed opportunities (still waiting for an entire warlock season) and questionable plot devices (was the whole nuclear apocalypse even necessary?), but I love it. I’ve rewatched this season more than any others.
because it’s pointless. none of the characters feel the same. the ending is awful. the pacing and story are mapped out in such bizarre ways. the fact that the whole thing means nothing bc it was erased. like there’s not much TO like here for me
Because fan service doesn't equal good.... I love the show but I also enjoy charactization/depth and a well told story which was lacking in Apocolypse.
@@attackonghouls583 exactly this, fan service means that it is essentially a nod or recognition from the creators that they understood their fans and are rewarding their "loyalty" through the fan service/easter eggs. Especially moreso when it really hits the nail on the head for the more obscure, background world building. Apocalypse was basically just, "hey remember this?" "ooooh, we brought back [ character ] or [ actor ] have a hit of that nostalgia gas." surface level fan service with no depth. Instead of memorializing the iconic characters of each AHS season that they showed it just butchered/neutered them.
I've watched every single coverage of yours and I just can't get enough of you and your personality. I would love everything explained to me this way. As a suggestion. You mentioned ONCE (Once Upon A Time) as an aside. That is my absolute favorite show and if you watched it I would love to see a recap series of it. ❤
oh boy ive been waiting for this one! considering that the only seasons that watched from beginning to end were murder house, coven and apocalypse i'd say this one was enjoyable for me, but only because it brought back characters from murder house and coven
I remember when Apoc. came out, I was in my senior year of highschool. I watched it with my mom, but eventually neither of us wanted to anymore. Even at the time I thought it started out with kind of a vision but it quickly devolved and it just seemed like they had no idea what they actually wanted to even do.
First: I love your timeline breakdowns lol I always say “I want to go back and rewatch them” but I never have time. You condense it so well and I love it 😂 Second: CAN WE TALK ABOUT TATE FOR A SECOND. Wtf was up with them trying to make him worthy of a happy ending? He shoots up a school, he r*pes Vivian, he gaslights Violet, he also manipulated everyone in that house. Yeah he did SOME good things but that doesn’t out weigh the AWFUL SHIT HE DID. I don’t understand how Ryan Murphy thought “yeah that makes sense” lol my favourite thing is that Tate’s fan base is so toxic and genuinely think he’s an innocent baby that deserves all the good things. NO NO NO 😂
honestly as a teen girl i loved tate but i was an adult when i watched apocalypse and it was so off putting. they tried to change it so he was being manipulated by the devil or something, they should have just sticked to the original character. If they wanted a cute blond Evan Peters moment they should have just gotten him to reprise his role as Kyle instead and he still gets to have a moment with Taissa Farmiga (and it probably would make more sense plot wise too)
@@dia.96 OH MY GOSH NO CAUSE SAME! I couldn’t stand Tate as a character after going through traumatic experience after traumatic experience lol maturing is realizing Tates awful

it was every single season after this one for me lol
They would have figured that at the second half of all his shows. They always start out good, and then he can’t keep the momentum

And absolutely, it would’ve been a million times better if they skipped the novelty of the screwy timeline and just told the tale as it would’ve unfolded, saving the lead up to the Blast, then the post-Apocalyptic stuff for the very end.
The little "mhm " when explaining is so funny. I love your breakdowns!
your rapidness but like simultaneous efficiency with videos is epic??? a tale to be foretold thru generations?? but i also love the growth and being able to see ur personality and personal twists on things come out more and more, so obsessed! also the southern accent sheeyt sends me every time
Icon, you put these out so fast I see you more often than my own parents.
*adds another video to my comfort watch playlist* thank you Cain! Happy new year and I hope 2024 brings you millions of views!
Having Misty Day freed from Hell and Queenie freed from Hotel Cortez is all I care about in this season.
Oh and Moria freed from murder house.
none of that is canon anymore 🤭
@@cainvarner I know. I just needed to see them freed even for a short time. The final really disappointed me.
Thank you for the recap it was very well done. Keep up the great work.
So...what you're telling me is that the entire season resolved absolutely nothing? And did nothing in the grand scheme of things? Werk 💀😭
i think the show runners are trying to build up to something with all the babies in the seasons. the witches at the very least, were able to delay the anti christs/devils plans for another 18-20 years when the next devil baby is an adult
The way Emily and Timothy became soooo irrelevant after the first episode is sooo hilarious to me
their gave birth to the next antichrist after michael dies when malorie went back in time
The way I ran to this analysis and recap, I recently just found your channel and LOVE the content, keep on going. You have some really great stuff out here, here’s to you growing even more
first time commenting but ive watched all your AHS videos and i love them. can't wait to see you review and explain more stuff!
Thank you for your service!! ❤️ Amazing work as always
Another dope video. You really put effort into this unlike alot of youtubers now
the thing abt apocalypse is that i LOVED seeing the witches and the characters from murder house again but they executed it SOOOOO poorly it hurts. loved seeing stevie nicks again tbh she always is a queen
I dont think the season itself was great but to this day, michael langdon is one of my top 3 fictional crushes so it will always be special to me for that 😭
"If you have any questions, so do I"
Iconic line lmaoo
thank you so much for doing these recaps becuase i don't have the patience nor the nerves to watch all of the show but i'm just curious about it so thanks you're doing good work
thanks for these videos they're helping me get through an awful assignment where I have to draw a ridiculous amount of things and having you to listen in the background has been a life saver to stop my brain from melting. It's also made me realise just how little of AHS' plot actually stuck in my brain when I watched it with my friends lol
thank you for making these AHS videos bcus i can derive all the useful knowledge from them without having to watch the actual seasons and i can make my silly little AHS edits in peace, i love you and thank you again❤️❤️🤞🤞
Currently going through all the ahs seasons for the first time, and found your videos after i finished Freak Show. Now everytime i finish a season i immediately jump to watch you video about it lol. You have such an entertaining style, i really enjoy your videos! Keep it up!
Have never seen this show in my life, but just binged all your videos on them, love it! Found you via the 100 one, and so glad I did!
"Myrtle Snow deserves a big picture" Myrtle Snow deserves EVERYTHING, girl
Petition to release the hidden video essay. 🤣
I managed to clock one or two from before he privated them all and they were so adorable! I asked him to unprivate them and he said no because they're bad 😭😭
@@1eoso1e I’m so jealous! 😭
Why couldn't they have gone for wizard, or, hey, MALE WITCHES?!
it’s not that deep it’s a tv show babe
@@cainvarner Actually, it IS that deep. Language matters.
I just have to say this. Of course I love the Coven-Crew...but something bothers me:
When the witches show up, NOBODY stays dead.
I got so hype for this season and it sucked!
I will probably enjoy this recap more than the show itself, then go back and watch your recaps over again
i got into a car accident so ive been on bed rest and watching all your videos i can’t wait for you to finish this series i love AHS
Absolutely love these AHS breakdowns. Even when I disagree, I am completely entertained.
The fact that Dumb and Dumber selected the outposts…that was a tough one to swallow.
I was so invested in this series … then the flashbacks happend
“Now John Henry Moore, the flop that he is” 😂 period Myrtle deserved her big picture on the board 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼
I think if they died there, they are stuck there. Moyra had the help of witchcraft.
Unpopular opinion: Apocalypse was actually not that bad 🤷♂️
yeah i immediately knew that it was not meant to be taken so seriously, its pure fan service and i was pretty excited about that alone. i had so much fun watching it.
I enjoyed it lol I also am just a sucker for apocalypse storylines and nostalgia
I enjoyed more of Michael before the apocalypse before the actual apocalypse lmao
I loved seeing him struggle with not wanting to be evil at first
@@mischiefmanagedxx592same lol
Okay good
I’m glad I wasn’t the one trippin
I really liked Murder House and Coven. So when they made a season that called back to both, I was sold. But yeah, it was a mess. The thing that saved it for me was Cody Fern. He was fabulous 🎉
I've been watching all your recaps, and I absolutely love them.
From all of this mess I really liked the scene when Moira was talking with her mother. I flat out cried when watching. That was a good momnet
i really like apocalypse i love how it links but i get why people dont. THANKS FOR THIS I LOVE THIS VIDEO SERIES
Loved this! Also thoroughly entertained by the way you swept your hair back with the wand :D
ijbol 😭
I love these videos ! Thank you so much for keeping us entertained hehe ! Happy New Year :>
Fantastic video for such a bummer of a season! LMAO I was just as frustrated as you fr! It's still silly goofy fun ig but yk,,, but ANYWHO cant wait for 1984 whenever/if ya feel up to it ! Happy New Year n thank you for the amazing content! B sure to take a well deserved break! 🤍🤍
Love your delivery so much.
33:15 they aren't black eyes, they are *missing* !!! it's so much worse! those were definitely empty dark sockets :((
obsessssssed with u and this series
It definitely could've been better but some of my favorite moments are in this season.
Murder house episode is great
THE STEW IS STU!!
Despite how much people hated this season I think we can all agree Cody fern is a beautiful and talented actor and did a great job as micheal Langdon
Happy new year. You’re doing great!
Please be a professor. I need this teaching style. THIS is my learning style
Oof this season was a challenge, but we made it through. Cant wait for the next video!
Spending my new year drinking and watching this!
Thank you!! Happy New Years Mother! ♡
This season is one fan service scene after another I don’t get how someone who likes the show couldn’t love this season.
because it’s pointless. none of the characters feel the same. the ending is awful. the pacing and story are mapped out in such bizarre ways. the fact that the whole thing means nothing bc it was erased. like there’s not much TO like here for me
Because fan service doesn't equal good....
That is potentially coming soon !
@@cainvarner That's so exciting. I'm hype for it than. I'll be watching.
The criteria for who gets a big picture and who gets a little picture took me out ! 🤣🤣🤣💀 great video!
I never watched this season, so I love that this is the only exposure I’ve had to this mess.
Truley have been waiting for this ep all series.
oh boy ive been waiting for this one! considering that the only seasons that watched from beginning to end were murder house, coven and apocalypse i'd say this one was enjoyable for me, but only because it brought back characters from murder house and coven
This is like if I wrote AHS really crossfaded while binging the show
This season could have easily just been a witches vs warlocks season as there was so much focus on them when it didn’t need to be.
Now that we have seen delicate, double feature and ny; apocalypse is giving very much "WHAT WAS SAID!!?"
I remember when Apoc. came out, I was in my senior year of highschool. I watched it with my mom, but eventually neither of us wanted to anymore. Even at the time I thought it started out with kind of a vision but it quickly devolved and it just seemed like they had no idea what they actually wanted to even do.
criminally underrated video mate
I give credit to Ms Mead poking fun at them calling Timothy and his girlfriend relentlessly boring
First: I love your timeline breakdowns lol I always say “I want to go back and rewatch them” but I never have time. You condense it so well and I love it 😂
Second: CAN WE TALK ABOUT TATE FOR A SECOND. NO NO NO 😂
it’s just fan service for the tate stans
honestly as a teen girl i loved tate but i was an adult when i watched apocalypse and it was so off putting. they tried to change it so he was being manipulated by the devil or something, they should have just sticked to the original character.
@@dia.96 I love Evan too, I find him adorable
I’m a ✨Forgets to Comment Girlie✨ but I’m trying to be better about it, so just want to say your AHS season recaps are giving me LIFE! Found you after watching Skyler Gaetano’s 3 hr AHS: Cult deep dive, love both of y’all and all the effort put into these endeavors ♥️ anyway, Apocalypse… oof, the hottest and messiest of hot messes. There were things i loved (Misty Day! Behold! The Stew is Stu! Everything Cody Fern has ever done and ever will do!) but overall… what in Mother Constance Langdon’s name were they THINKING?! 😬
i have been waiting for this
My fav thing about these videos is listening to your opinions. I love AHS to death but I love ragging on it even more lmao.
thank you always cain xoxo 🍾
Thank you mother for the food❤
Marie definitely did her thing this season for the little scenes she had
