Love the 55!! Looks like a natural creek or stream. Well done!!! Oh I learned a tip for adding substrate after water is in...take a bit longer, but if you use a 1liter or 2 liter bottle and let it slowly pour out of the smaller lid, it really helps lower dust. Only wish I had remembered that when I added sand last time I did it. Took me 3 seconds to slap my own face for forgetting....lol Love your setups dude, I praise them all the time!
So awesome -- and so excited for my latest shrimp and plants order. BTW -- that opening scene by the lake looks like a painting -- what an amazing place and (another) amazing tank!!!
Dude I’m so excited to see what is going to go on at this place of yours. I knew from the get-go that you were going to start breeding fish on a massive level and this is the place to do it. Set up dome greenhouses that are over 300 feet long and stock 50 gallon barrel drums with tons of fish cheap and efficient and profitable good luck my friend
Gosh Lucas, the tree you were standing in front of in the intro is amazing. Such a pretty quarantine tank. I'm going to have a go at this tank. The rocks look really good too. Thanks again. I guess you got grounded and had to fill in time.😃
great one loved it got a question: how can this tank stay alive and well (the fish) with no filter and especially no air pump??? i'm new in the hobby thanks
Hi @LRB looks so cool. How do you go about all the fish stuff being collected between the rocks and eventually mixing up with the water column - wouldn’t it require water changes and vacum to take out the “shit” before it mixes with the water?
I dont. It just becomes new dirt. The microorganisms that live in the detritus helps break down waste and other impurities as well as decaying organic material. Which just like in nature eventually turns to new dirt.
He explained that he used tank water and plants from well established tanks. He didn't have enough to fill it, but he doesn't need to, fish in, plants in, it already has beneficial bacteria. As he adds water, and time goes by, bacteria will multiply💯💕
What kind of fish is the elongated cyprinid? with the bluish band below the lateral line? I don't recognize those guys. BTW, a few years ago I started using tetra tropical granules as per your recommendation. I gotta say, fish really like that stuff, even the picky ones, you should see my cpd's they are absolute porkers, as a result, and started breeding without adding live foods. I've been using it as my primary adult and fry food for a couple years now and managed to cross-discipline a nice hack from my profession. Although, it's not too bad to crumble into small bits with your fingers (gives me the occasional thumb cramp), I picked up a tiny (3 inch diameter) mortar and pestle to crush it... it absolutely kicks ass for creating an on-demand, uniform fine powder to feed to small fry (cpd/pseudomugil). Works great, I use my fingers for the tanks where I want a variety of crumble size and the mortar and pestle where I want it exclusively fine. Thanks LRB for spreading the knowledge regardless of those clowns not sponsoring you... it helps the rest of us. Check out my fishroom update to see my cpd continuous breeding setup... it is so much easier than collecting eggs. It's basically just a harvestable refuge in a heavily planted tank where the adults are too full to bother predating on the fry thanks to the tetra tropical granules and minimal BBS/microworms. Have almost the same setup for my luminatus with the advent of a small internal light that attracts fry to the "safe spot." This setup has also been pumping out the fry without collecting eggs. So much easier... that's what a guy is looking for!
It was good they had lots of stuff. I would have kicked myself for missing it since I havent been, so I had to go. Ill be sharing what I got in the next video.
Hei. Im thinking about aquiering a small gorup of some kind of pseudomugil to my 13 gallon cube tank. I might have a 190 gallon that i want to restock. I plan to put my Bosmani in there as soon as the current tenants have found new homes. I have collected plenty eggs from them and gotten the fry to the size where i could start feeding fry food. My question is. If i get a Pseudomgil colony going. what kind of yield do you think i could get out of them with 190 gallons. Keeping water clean will be no stress where i live.
Actually there’s lots I can make videos on. I don’t need to do this for content. Science is fun for kids but a lot of it is just theories and hypotheticals. If you have seen my channel before you would know this isn’t just an experiment but something I’ve done for years. Stick around you might learn something.
The amount of content you’ve been pushing out lately is greatly appreciated! Thank you for all you do LRB!
Something about the Cory’s hopping out of the mason jar one at a time had me laughing.

By the way you inspired me to not run any filtration on my tanks at all it’s just plants and fish now thank you
That tank is sick. Now I know what to do with my 55. I’ll just add more plants. Indiana still misses you dude ✌🏼
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Laser Cory!! I'll need some when they multiply
I would have never thought of using the geotech. I've got plenty for the yard. May have to try it in a tank.

OMG LOL...ribbit...just barely caught that frog 🐸 Beautiful and simple tank. I LOVE the look so much.
😄Thanks for staying until the end!
Great format, your videos have really come a long way!
Thanks! They take me a lot longer to make but worth it imo.
Absolutely loving the tank....
Really nice tank. Love it! ❤️ the low tech!
You should put small canister fliter and sponge fliter
👀
Love to see platies in the tank!
Nice video buddy
great one
loved it
got a question: how can this tank stay alive and well (the fish) with no filter and especially no air pump???

thanks
Just nature doing what it does. No special trick. Just natural biology at work.
Very cool, looks great!!
Fish haven hype!
You are awesome thanks again! 🙏

@@LRBaquatics thank you man, love what you do, you are an inspiration ❤️
What will produce the beneficial bacteria in this tank?

Sounds interesting and glad I could help! The fish is pteronotropis hypselopterus the sailfin shiner. It’s a native to FL.
@@LRBaquatics Thanks. Looked at a few pics of them; classy looking fish right under our noses. Has a bit of a white cloud thing going for it. Nice!
I like this video hey thanks for the Guppy Grass its still going strong!!!
Thanks for the order and support!
Eco complete is sharp and will rub away the corie’s barbels or whiskers and shorten their lifespan. Sand or planted tank substrate is better for them.
It’s true. That’s why they have options in the tank plus it’s only a temporary quarantine tank for them.
Oh man! The cory police are gonna loose their minds! Lol
I wanted to go to the auction but something came up . How was it ?
It was good they had lots of stuff. I would have kicked myself for missing it since I havent been, so I had to go. Ill be sharing what I got in the next video.

They don’t breed as prolifically as the bosemani but with enough pairs and done right you could breed a plethora.
I love platys
So why no air stone?
Real question. Why an air stone? My answer to yours is it promotes algae growth and not needed.
Do these fishes need to get fed?
I do feed them but have been testing few tanks with not feeding and so far it’s been successful and fish maintain their bellies.
Dad life 👍
What type of stand is that?
It was one I got from Tampa Bay Aquarium Society Swap. Wood shalac.
@@LRBaquatics thats a good looking stand 👍
Ribbit!
I don’t understand the science behind why a tank like this works. Is there a different video I need to watch?
@Wei Wang so many!!!! start here >>>>>ruclips.net/user/LRBretzsAquatics 😉🥰
It’s the essence of Mother Nature in the air and water. How it’s suppose to be. Check out my channel for more. I’ve been doing it for years.
