Good to know other people were crashing. I thought it was just my junky rig. For the life of me though, I can't remember if there was a pattern to the maps I crashed on. Hell, I can't even remember if I crashed when I played after the patch two days ago 🤪
Good on ya for being a machine in the face of this goofy game. Y’all keep crashing on manifest? I’ve been seeing it happen every round on breakaway. Thanks, dice
We've seen regular crashes for multiple people in the server at the same time for Manifest and Breakaway before the most recent update and after. I assume it's something specific to shaders or textures on those particular maps because otherwise I think we'd be seeing crashes on every map. The crash dumps still only indicate something in memory and Denuvo but nothing specific to point out the exact cause as far as I can tell, others might be able to read through it better.
I've been wondering a couple things. 1. What is your keybinding base? I know it's not WASD cause I've seen some of your binds on screen. I'm sure this is a common question so sorry for being too lazy to find another comment with a reply. 2. Do you have a favorite Battlefield out of all the ones you've played, or do you just play the most recent one no matter what?
My movement keys are bound to ESDF. My favorite Battlefield out of all of them would be Battlefield 2. If we are talking about Battlefield games on the Frostbite engine than it would be either BC1 or BC2.
@@Ravic That's actually a lot closer to WASD than I expected when I saw W as one of your vehicle ability binds. I'll have to check out your older videos, I've never experienced the oldest Battlefields but I can definitely see what not to like about the new ones
@@Ravic I'm surprised. I feel like it gives you a wider reach on the keyboard while still letting you comfortably press the common keys. I can't see myself trying it though, I'm barely able to perform well with WASD
@@Uegue I don't recommend it because a lot of games or game engines for some reason still have a lot of parts hardcoded to default keys or keybinds that can never be changed. It's generally only been game breaking with early versions of games but for example every Battlefield game the main menu and those UI systems are controlled by WASD no matter what you change your movement keybinds to.
Yea that's definitely a texture streaming issue. I'd guess most of the game's code is loaded into RAM so it should only crash when something major needs to be loaded in (first person vehicle things maybe?).
I don't know it's too inconsistent. The majority of the time I've crashed I'm pretty sure it was when I was at the spawn screen or about to spawn in. The fact that it doesn't crash or boot everyone to the desktop raises too many additional questions or variables that I can't say for certain. That and the crash dumps in the documents folder always including something about Denuvo.
@@Ravic Well part of Denuvo's job is to prevent file tampering so I wouldn't be surprised if it was just showing up randomly or did cause the problems. The spawn screen seems like a pretty normal place to crash tbh. So much stuff going on and probably so much spaghetti code underneath it all thanks to all the reworks and changes since BF1. I've had almost crashes in 2042 loading in and last I checked I couldn't swap any equipment in BFV without freezing for several seconds.
@@FatheredPuma81 Loading into a map does some AVX instructions and other things when it's doing the compiling shaders thing in BF2042, it can trip a lot of "stable" overclocks, that change started with Season 3's launch update. BFV freezing while changing weapons sounds like another issue entirely if it's specific to weapon swapping. The only freezes we came across in BFV were the ones that felt like PunkBuster screenshots being taken/spammed in older Battlefield games, we called them FairFight freezes since that anti-cheat also has the ability to take screenshots and when it happened it happened to both of us like someone was initiating the command to screenshot everyone in the server. It was a one to two second freeze where the game kept going in every other way with audio and input it was just the visual frame/screen was frozen for those one or two seconds.
@@Ravic Not only changing weapons but also cosmetics and scopes. I went on franchise wide hiatus just before the new AC dropped in 2042 and only just encountered the issue when I played BFV a couple weeks ago. Am running a PBO undervolt with 8000MHz RAM but despite the issues I've only crashed once when I alt tabbed to stop a Steam download. My friend and I actually experienced the Fairfight freezes (as you call them) a few times in BFV but we rarely ever got enough kills to warrant being SS'd.
@@FatheredPuma81 We just referred to it as "FairFight screenshot" because that is what it felt like, no idea if it was but it was random when it happened and so it would sometimes get you killed because your frame/screen was frozen for one to two seconds. There might be an issue on your configuration or system then if it was fine before and now it isn't. I know BF2042 is very sensitive to RAM, like I've seen a bunch of instances where people had issues with the game and it was because their timing were reset or they weren't good for the game. I try to keep as much as I can stock now and it's been nice to not run into issues for quite some time.
This might actually be the most definitive proof that Ravic doesn't cheat. You can still very much kill invisible players, they're just not rendered for you making them 1000x harder to actually shoot.
We don't run around as Falck or Mackay with OP ARs and SMGs, we don't load up in with full squad and abuse the unbalanced vehicles. I never ran around with the AEK on Operation Locker in pubs in BF4 and I didn't touch the broken Assault class in BF1. I go out of my way to make things more fair and try to keep player population alive. People who abuse the broken things in a game and do the same thing nonstop don't get better or evolve their playstyle they just get more predictable. Then they wonder why they can no longer pull off the things they used to be able to pull off or get away with.
