I built a wood floorboard the exact same way a couple of years ago for my Seahawk II. I used marine deck carpeting. I sized the width a bit less than maximum so I can wedge the board in while the boat is fully inflated. This makes life easy and the minimal open space under the inflated boat sides is not an issue.

Thanks for sharing the info! In hindsight, I could have made the size of the deck a little smaller all round. I can only insert it when the boat is fully deflated. That said, I never fold up the deflated boat - the deck stays in permanently with the deflated pontoons folded over the deck (if that makes sense?). The full length deck and deflated boat slips underneath a roof rack on my camping trailer (video coming soon).

For the foam border, how did you get it to stay on? Great video!

Great Mods!! Thanks for posting. What is the weight of the floor and the boxes? Thanks!! I want to build this to take my Mastiff on the lake. He's 160lbs lol

do you inflat the floor or not when you put the wood floor in? thanks in advance

I never inflate the boat floor. The biggest reason for this is actually that the ribbing on my floor has "delaminated" (the ultrasonically welded seams have come apart). In other words, the whole floor inflates as one chamber which is not ideal ;)

Boomer good to know. I just made a plywood carpeted floor for that reason. my floor when inflated gets one big bulge.

Wow, it must be a common problem then! It will handle better with the floor deflated, you'll see :)

My Seahawk II is different, yours looks like a more expensive version.

They changed the name to Mariner 4 to reduce confusion between models. The newer Seahawk model is a completely different boat then this.
