@@elsiemarina2572 Ricky reuses Karl's comments as standup material! Saw a clip of his Science(?) standup where he jokes about donation-as-gift thing (giving a goat to an African family) and he says exactly what Karl said
Every time I put faith in Karl, he lets me down a lil' bit.. I understand he quit school young, but he doesn't even take an effort to understand these things... 5:33 Hey, Brits, help me out. I listened to Karl at this point a half dozen times and came up with Jilly Goolden and her blind taste tests for different types of alcohol. Is this what he’s referring to?
Yes, she was a wine critic who did some tv shows on wine in the 80s. So he's comparing himself to her wine tasting and being an expert, except in his case he's an expert in tea. This is one of my favourite all time bits. Especially where he says 'if this is still in, it didn't go well'
Yeah the XFM radio shows date back to around 2004, but the podcasts are a bit newer, 2008ish. Then the animated TV series came out in 2010 off the back of the podcasts 👍
The final Ricky Gervais Show episode talks back through the year, and Karl talks about a fly eating a biscuit. I'm pretty sure Ricky says the year is 2007.
I like Karls last suggestion that we are like a weed in the universe! In a way, Karl is right! Humans have been destructive. We are like weeds that choke out other lifeforms. Wise words, from Karl.
If your audio is going to record the sound of every single notification can you just make sure that you have them on mute first. I usually listen to these podcasts while I'm drifting off to sleep and its bloody infuriating when I mistakenly think that I might actually have some friends.

I sympathize with Karl. Rick is wrong. Restless leg syndrome is very annoying, and doesn't just affect inactive folks. I suffered from it in my youth, while I was very active in sports. I was active in cycling, skating, swimming, and other gym oriented activities. I had issues almost every night, with leg spasms waking me up, and causing me pain. Very not fun!
