I'd also be interested to see a video of you describing the difference between titanium and stainless steel spokes. Berd also makes "shoelace" spokes now, but they're super expensive.
idk bout these rims, already feel that wheels are the weakest part of a bmx bike and I wouldnt want it any weaker. Ill take reliability and cost over weight savings. anyways, I hope the turn out well for you!
IDK about that...... That seems like a super expensive part and they'll end up making the bike strangely light, just ask BK from Scotty Cranmers channels, he talks about how it was a difficult transfer and even people that ride his bike say it's way too lite.
Steel is real!!!! 😂 coming from the car world. I love carbon. I’m no pro at bmx but I enjoy having a regular cromo bike with regular wheels. Practically indestructible. I think this weight thing is getting out of hand. Back in the day, bikes were heavy af but bmx kept growing. As with everything tho, interested too see your take on the carbon stuff. I won’t spend that much on a rim but I know people that will. No hate, look forward to the review? Glad to see companies still trying new things in bmx tho 👍🏼
The rims where beautiful Mike. I would love them with pink spokes for my Sunday primer. Just scared I might have to get rid of it cause I haven't rode in a year come December because I can't get docs to fix my knee with no money for surgery
Yeah profile elite hubs were “racing” hubs and “no peg” hubs when they released. Lol I’m about to do a full titanium build with the carbon rims!!! Excited to prove they’re stronger than 98% of the bmx community wants to believe. Carbon is light but is as strong as steel. Carbons rarely a weaker material lol.
No hate but i believe spokes are only available in stainless steel titanium and aluminum? Ive never heard of chromoly spokes but if so please give me a link haha thanks for the video!

I had a 92 balance patriot. I rode flat land. Now my back is toast. Mike, can you do a flatland video?

These will be very interesting! Thanks Mike!
0:39 Those remind me of the Sun BFR rims ive run Sun city lites and Sun big city rims in the past and they was light rims back in the day
Man I used to run 48h sun big city rims and I had a pair of custom built sun city lights I loved them 😍

Mountain bikes can get away with lighter carbon components because of their suspension but this will be interesting to see how these hold up.

thanks! is the vandal fairly strong?

On MTB, carbon is strong, light but brittle. They don't flex much so instead of having to true your wheel, you have to buy a new rim.

When you said my wallet was going to hurt, I though you ment ty price range.

compare these to old skool boat anchor 48 spokes... very spendy on these, worth it may be relative in the long game.
Hope every one that's sees this has a great day.
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Alex triple haven’t heard that in sooo long

Stainless is what I meant but was thinking of the chrome ones I was looking at on a wheel under the camera. 🙃
@@MikeFede i think people need to make chromoly ones honestly haha but pretty sure only possible to make tubes with chromoly
