Matt Azevedo, Drexel University Head Coach, demonstrates how to use different single-leg finishes based on your opponent's reaction to your attacks. He emphasizes great position and making sure that you can recover it when you lose it. Coach Azevedo does an effective job of breaking down each finish and, even more importantly, gives coaches specific drills that can be used to develop these skills.

Haha, great video, but I like when you start by saying were not going to go much in to how to shoot a single and we are just going to work on finishes. Then you spend the whole video talking about how to shoot a single.

Finishes in wrestling are takedowns and pinning people to the mat. Not submitting like BJJ

I'm not at all knowledgeable in wrestling, but it seems odd to stem your head into the opponent like that - in case of a strong sprawl that directs force inti your spine, you might get spinal problems.

That's why your neck must be strong. Plus, he can't really sprawl on you unless you're under him. In which case, having your forehead on his body to the side prevents

If you drive the leg up and finish quickly you don't have to worry about sprawling
