Do you have a spot in your home that’s begging for a tall, narrow floor plant? Well let me please introduce to Lisa - she’s easy care & easy on the eyes. This houseplant’s a looker with all that dark glossy foliage spilling out of the top of each cane (stem). This is all about Dracaena Lisa care & how to keep yours healthy and looking good.
When I was an interior plantscaper (my 1st job following my exit from college ) Dracaena Janet Craig was the top dog in town where dark, glossy green foliage was desired. It was billed as the ultimate low light plant and was seen in almost every office & lobby in town.
Dracaenas Lisa & Michiko are relatively new introductions. A much smaller variety, Janet Craig compacta, has been around for a while too. Know that you care for them all in them same way.
Get care & growing tips, find out things that are good to know & see pics of the other dracaenas here: www.joyusgarde...

Thank you!! You mentioned toxicity and I’ve been researching for weeks for more information because I recently discovered that ALL the plants in my house were considered toxic if eaten (but my dogs don’t eat them!) I was worried I’d have to choose between my plants and my dogs. I really didn’t wanna get rid of my plant babies!!

My plants stems are very thin and green but grow top heavy and I have to prop them up with a stick. I guess I should cut them down but will the stems get thicker?

Hi I love all the tips and information alot!! I have a question?? So I have some propragating Dracaena Lisas growing in a glass jar, one of them was dying and I managed to save it but the plant is not growing upwards its actually growing towards the right side, sort of like a candy cane?? Also I have had these propagating in water since I cut them off a giant tree last year around this time. Im getting ready to plant them in soil. These plants are doing fairly well, well but lately I notice after I put fresh water, not from the sink either well after a few weeks it smells like eggs, I just rinsed the plants and roots and put them in fresh water, My question is so I have them under a grow .... if they dont like to have wet roots how long can I keep them in the glass jar?? I wonder if they are wanting to be planted in soil since its been a year?? Whats your opinion?

Does all this info apply to the Hawaiian sunshine dracanea? I can’t find much info or any videos on it. It says keep soil moist but I’m afraid I’m going to overwater it. It looks very similar to this plant.

I was given a Dracaena Lisa plant in fairly rough shape. I'm wondering if I should cut it down into pieces to propagate into many small plants or should I keep it looking like a Charlie Brown xmas tree. Many of its leaves have yellow blotches, brown tips and some translucent sections. It has one new bud mid way up a long stalk section and there are a few leaves that are looking Intact. It currently sits in a corner next to a South/west window with blinds (it was behind a TV previously) and receives many hours of indirect sunlight. I repotted it (it was in the same pot for 12yrs)) in potting soil with vermiculite/peat moss.

Could you do one on Liriope (Lily Turf)? PLEASE!
I have so much trouble keeping those alive indoors :(

Thank you so much! I've grown liriope outdoors but not indoors. Everything I do videos & posts on is from experience. Because it's sold as a landscape plant, I think it would be difficult to grow indoors. If I ever try it, I'll definitely share my experience! Nell

How do you revive the lisa? I took the plant at my work home because it was dying. The trunks are completely dried out and there are 3. 1 new trunk is growing I think because new leaves how started to grow from the soil. Any suggestions?
