Hey guys! This is Sam Goodwin, the writer and director of this film! If you have any questions please put em in this thread!
Zombie apocalypse or what?
@@Phantom_Hivemind I’ll never tell ;)
@Sam Goodwin
What the hell xD
I'm fairly confused about whet the heck I just watched. I have a slight idea, but I'm pretty sure its false because I'm not one to read in between the lines much and take things at face value.
I understand that the boy called for his mom near the beginning of the film and that there was also a monster of sorts in his old bedroom, I wonder if there two separate people, or if the boy just isn't coping with the fact that his mother turned into a monster...
Either way, still confused lol
Nicely done, cheers!
Can you tell what happened to his parents?
Give this young boy a medal, he has such a good acting skill. 👏👏👏
Yessss
Yes he does
Little kids these days r such good acters.😍
Yes! Very talented child
Acting? You Mean Good Kid! This Is A Real Thing!
The way he called out his mom, and he is so brave. feel like want to give that boy a hug :'(
Yeah, when he did that, my heart broke.
Child actors are usually hit or miss. This kid was awesome.
I WAS SO LUCKY TO GET TO CAST HIM! his name is Sam Goergen (lol we're both sam's) and he's exceptional!
@@samgoodwin3717 seriously, great job finding him. It takes a lot for a short zombie film to be legitimately scary, and his acting definitely highlighted the great work you put into this.
The kid is home alone
Here we go....
Yes!!!!!. Yes he is home alone!!!!. Now run like the wind and find him so you can rescue this amazing child actor that is home alone in this brilliant horror short film !!!!
You will be a hero!!
Side note: I feel bitter today.
I must agree🤗💯
As a mother myself, the tension, the uncertainty and the whole tone made me feel sick to my stomach in a sense. A horror unlike typical horror. This was superbly made and the ending like a punch in the gut for me.
He turned on the tv at exactly “TV time”. This boy has more self-discipline than i am 😭👏🏻
Because his mom made him a perfect child by giving him proper timing for everything he does
Ok this was actually more sad than scary, I feel so bad for this kid-
that's how i've always felt!
Ehy
@@KWANTIOMN because he's clearly alone in an apocalypse type scenario
Yeah, Im like, where are the adults hes too young to be on his own
All I could think about is what happens when the food runs out?
He was clearly handling it otherwise but... the food!
"Home Alone" Horror Edition
Ye
Best comment
nah, home alone is already a psychological horror film
EXACTLY!
that's my same thought
That kid is smart as hell.
Home alone ain't got nothin on him
Why do you say he's smart?
@@asowerofseed4896 Because shooting something makes you smart hahaha
bro when I was his age I was still yelling into the fan and watching Elmo, he's badass
My sister and I would sing into a box fan..It sounded weird ❤😊
@@texastwister6988 thank you for bringing me back to this lol
This could be a full length movie, even though there's hardly any dialogue you just cant help to watch to see what the boy does next, great film!
working on it ;)
Ohh, I felt so nervous for the kid with so many of the lights staying on through the night. You'd think that that would work like a beacon for anything that might be roaming outside in the dark.
he put blackout curtains on the windows!
@@samgoodwin3717 That's a lot of trust placed in curtains. Buuut I suppose it did work, seeing how he is still alive.
But his windows were curtained
As a mother, I was really astonished on the discipline that he showed here, I mean not all kids, specially nowadays can stick to a well disciplined routine like his, from the way he moves, the way he looks, everything is brilliant! And that part where the zombie came in. Damm! My heart skipped for 2 sec!
All in All, Kudos to this wonderful actor, well played!
You know this is scripted, right?
@FreyjaIris the fact that you replied means you do give a damn, right?
This was so sad to see him alone. I wanted to reach in and hug him and get him out of there. They way he yelled for his mom. He did such a wonderful job. Can’t wait to see him in more films and in the big screen some day.
How come I get the feeling that his parents are dead already?
At the end when he turned on the tv with the volume I thought it was him giving up and accepting death (I may have though about it a bit too much)
@@AcuraRSX-dz5xf Yeah no lol
@@robmen1402 He's starting to accept that they may not come back, so now he can watch tv whenever he wants.
Did anyone elses heart break when he put on his mom's earrings?
I was looking for this comment
why?
@@kaylabowden3883 Trying to feel close to his mom.
I'm confused as to whose room that was. It looked like another child's room.
@@squamish4244 it was his room
Initially I thought his mother was out working and left him alone at home for so long.. then it started to raise a doubt whether he was abandoned. But then when a zombie suddenly barge in, it all makes sense.
so did his mother die in a zombie apocalypse?
Wow this was deep and scary at the same time....
I feel pity for the character, but I'm weirdly proud as hell at the way he handed himself and his discipline to his routine. Kudos to the actor too! He really brought this to life! ❤️
Quiet a matured and *BRAVE* kiddo he is!! Wonderful short.
So he is alone in his house and he has to defend it from zombies?
That is correct. All he has are his routines and whatever is in the metal box...
@@WatchALTER that's amazing for a kid his age, and sad at the same time as he doesn't have a caretaker /mother around.
@@WatchALTER He's already an expert at killing zombies and will only get better.
@@ROYALP100 great, now I need him in a movie as a zombie slayer
Golden voice -- what happens when he runs out of bullets?
the boy just casually opened his box, pulled out a gun, and shot a zombie right in the noggin
THIS BOY IS BADASS
Cleaning his gun right next to his crayons and listening to ghost stories … is a mood! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
This young man was an amazing actor here. He's obviously adapted well, and his ability to deal with that one zombie gives you hope. It's also sad because you know it's not sustainable. He's going to have to leave that house sooner rather than later, and I don't have high hopes for him at that point.
Well I have a different perception for this masterpiece
This is the truth the reality every one born in this world has to face each and every problem alone and need to be strong enough to survive the toughest situation
Love you team alter❤️
💙🖤
This kid had more courage and sense than the majority of adults in this situation. And his aim was on point.
This boy is AMAZING! He will go places with his acting career no doubt, Kudos to all, enjoyed this film wish it were full length!!
The Kid's got BALLS OF stainless STEEL.
Thanks for >100 likes. ❤
That kid's ball is stronger than The Rock's
And a gun, great aim, and quickdraw skills to back it up.
Or better yet, Balls of ADAMANTIUM, LOL!!!!
I was impressed with how he carried on with daily activities of the day. He had structure and watched television at selected times. This poor little one fending for himself. I am glad he has electricity and food.
9:39 I almost had a heart attack
thanks for the warning m8 XD
At first the little boy was strictly following his mother's orders while waiting for her to come back. But after he killed the monster he became more mature. He realised he is able to do more serious things than following a daily routine time table. He accepted that he has to deal with it all by himself.
You feel an instant connection to this little boy so well done on the acting. I swear all the way through i'm thinking what happens when the food runs out? He still has fresh milk so maybe the mum left to get food? But then you see all of the pictures on the fridge and it suggests mum has been gone for awhile. I'm a bit confused but still really enjoyed the short as that little boy acted his ass off. Thats an accomplishment when you are basically the only actor in the movie.
Yeah, it felt like the mom told him to paint a picture for her every day she was gone. I wonder why he was bleeding now? And why he put those earrings on before he walked in
@@MichelleSPodcast Yep - there are questions. Which makes it even more intriguing.
@@MichelleSPodcast I think they were ear plugs for noise so when he shot the gun it would not hurt his ears
This was exactly how i felt being left home alone as a child . I imagined the worst that might happened and how i would deal with , lol . Brave Alter✌️ 🙇♀️
The horror is this is the world we are creating. So rigid and robotic. Not questioning.
I'm embarrassed , my kids can't fix their own cereal.
Lmfaooo
Lol
I figured she was coming back alright, but damn! She prepared him well.
I am guessing the kid survived whatever "threat" his parents couldn't and now he is looking after himself and SHOOTING Zombies...
Cool 😎
The Covinators or covidians muted virus and vaccine
@@glennparker9059 Makes sense.
It just melted my heart to see this boy all alone.
the whole film was quiet and tbh since it was i didn't expect that jumpscare i jumped so hard i hurt myself .
Just reading the description box and I’m already heartbroken 😭 💔
C'mon everyone knows if you complety hide under the covers monsters can't touch you.
OMG, WHEN the zombie came thru the window it happened so fast that I had to catch my breath. That kid was fast on the draw, I wondered what was in the tin box, he should be alright as long as his ammo holds out. I think we will be seeing this kid in more films in the future, he already has the right stuff to hold his own in bigger roles..
I like how he just casually pulled out that gun.
I have an idea for a horror short. It’s a weird suggestion, but this has really been happening to me for a while. So it’s about a kid who is home alone, and is in their room when they hear their name being called outside their door, and they assume their parents are home. They look, and no one’s there. They look around the house, and no one’s there. They run back to their room where the monster attacks. All of this has happened to me, except being attacked obviously, and I just thought it was a good idea for a short horror film.
Sounds interesting! Should contact a script writer for independent movie shorts (not sure where exactly though). Alter just compiles short movies from various independent writer's/directors, they don't make the shorts themselves.
I here by award him an Oscar for his impressive acting skill. Congratulations. 👍👏👏
Kevin Mccallisters got nothing on this kid!
I dunno about that, I didn't see a single wacky yet potentially deadly trap in that house. lol just kidding, this kid just points and shoots, no questions asked. That's how you deal with zombies.
That young man did an amazing job! I completely believed his performance! Bravo! Bravo! (Of course Sam Goodwin did a nice job of directing too, but the kid really nailed it!)
The actor is also named Sam (Sam Goergen) and he deserves all the credit
Holy moly, when I heard the scratches on the window, I was waiting for the jump scare, that kid kick ass
thank you ALTER
The frame at 5:17 is the most beautiful one in the film. It evokes a myriad of emotions.
aw i've never seen that one singled out! but thank you ... poor kid
@@samgoodwin3717 Sam, thank you. Your film is so well visualized. I'm a film maker myself, and always look out for those evocative shots/scenes. The empty space on the right, made that shot very telling, bringing out the loneliness of the boy. I'm checking out your other works after this!
@@lloydrobert6182 yeah.. Just how one shot tells so many things.
I had a feeling he had a gun in his little lunch box .
I think it was purpose
I thought it just held precious memories and his moms earrings
As a mother this is more heartbreaking to me than anything
This young actor is so talented. I hope he's making out far!
This kid musta studied at The Quickdraw McGraw school of self-defense, LOL!!!! Zombie jumps in window and kid pulls out a gun, calmly aims and fills that zombie's head with lead. BADASS!
That jump scare got me real good!
This film is so beautifully shot, I'm blown away. Obviously, it's mostly a visual story without much dialogue, but to pull it off you really had to think through all your photography. Really nice work. And you managed to get a good performance out of that kid.
Thanks man! Kyle Morgan, our cinematographer, did a great job
This is exactly how I feel being left home alone. Lol😂
Awww, I want to bring Mom home for him!
I need a sequel
My heart just flew out of my chest and across the room... But I'm fine thanks!😨 Lol!
Well played ALTER... Well played.
What a fine young actor - and that big jump scare was fabulous.
1:09 that kid is holding a voltron toy. good.
The composure on this kid is insane
Bro he just pulls out a glock and the headshot him 🤭🤭
Thank for the likes guys
Well, he sure knows how to pack and use that 6 shooter.
This honestly is amazing! Yet so very sad, so full of mystery and emotion. Fantastic! 👌
I wish I had even 5% of the acting skills this kid has. If he’s actually pursuing acting as a career, I hope he gets some bomb ass roles. GOOD child actors can be hard to find. He looks all of about 8 years old and is giving A-Lister’s a run for their money.
He was 7 at the time and he’s amazing! Def getting a lot of cool stuff, and I have nothing but the highest of expectations for his future
Excellent short film. Great pacing, mysterious and gritty.
This kid was born in the game. Bravo 👏👏👏
The time of the movie passed peacefully, then suddenly the monster appeared from the window, man, this caused me a strong jump of fear ، my holy potatoes
The kid was amazing 👏. Apparently born with cat like reflex and holding it down. I myself and I know others enjoy these short movies but to see these talented kids is a bonus.
Seeing the monster I thought the film was about zombies, then on the television it mentioned ghost so I thought maybe it was about both, zombies attacking and his belief his mother would return as a ghost. The white chair in the hall against the door had been breached and I was left hanging not knowing if that was his mother's return or if another zombie was in the house. When the boy opened the front door, seeing the window boarded up from the outside was confusing. For protection the child would have boarded the window from the INSIDE. So who did that? The film was compelling enough to pull me in and make me committed to it's ending, the gun in his lunchbox was a great contrast in the life he once had and the life he has now but overall the film did not leave me with questioning but rather I just did not understand it.
There is a list written on the walk on a board. It has a list of times- 8:00 pm tv.
I'm in my thirties and I hope to one day have half the self-discipline and routine of this kid.
My heart failed at the jumpscare... My earphones were on full volume.
You kept me very intrigued! I jumped out of my chair on that one scene!!
Waaaaaa! The poor doggie...and kid :( Thank you for sharing.
I hope his mom made it back to him safely. I'd like to think that she eventually did.
This was so good! The actor was awesome!! Great job, keep up the good work!
His Mom taught him one thing for sure
I love how he keeps his moms things, and uses them as a way to get through the days...using her bandana when he cleaned, sleeping in her bed, putting on her earrings when he needs to be brave...so so sweet. This short gives one a lot to think about...bravo! Super well done!
Really strong build up of the story , can't help but to root for the boy.
This young man was very good. I've just started watching these shorts and have been blown away with just how great they are and packed do much punch in such a short time. Thank y'all very much. KUDOS!
That Hollywood Video vhs that fell on the floor brought back some memories. Nice touch. 👍
There wasn't any dialogue but The anticipation of what will or about to happen had my heart racing
I saw someone comment about a jumpscare...
I will not sit at the edge of my seat for the whole short
It’s not nearly as bad as you think
I fucking SHAT myself when that thing leapt at the window XD this whole thing is brilliant. Truly horrifying a child alone in this situation, imagining his terror. Very ominous when he picked up the empty lead the morning after the scary sound at the window. Brilliant all around!
Scared the crap out of me, and broke my heart, too.
Incredible film with a great child actor in a horrifying situation
When he heard some voice outside and he went under the bed. I was like 'No boy demons are under bed, get up and hide under the blanket!'
That monster got lucky, what a closet place to take a nap.
This boy reminds me of my ole man that is 50 and still sits there cleaning the gun and smiling at what's on TV lols
1:09 that kid is holding a voltron toy. i love voltron
So if I'm not wrong, I would like to explain the film.
That is haunted place where zombies are available.
The boy's mum is gone,
she might be dead or alive just went away somewhere.
Maybe his mum had gone away because that place is haunted.
But the boy didn't leave the house.
He loves his home, so much that he had secured some windows and doors by raw plank.
Some of the windows have broken glass, wounded doors.
The boy does all by himself
makes food, has dinner.
Goes to sleep in his sweet little night onesie.
Watches TV, does homeworks, drawings.
Somehow the boy has a gun, he put something in his ear before entering that room, I think that was any kind of thing which reduce the sound of the GUNSHOT.
Killing zombies or monsters is practise for him.
Instead of going away or leaving the house, he lives there, stays there.
He loves being there.
He wants to protect the home
and that's why
the film is called HOMESICK.
I was on edge the whole time till that zombie came up, great work.
Exotically creepy. Very talented young actor. Not a comment I can think of about Mom's earrings.
Children can't watch horror movies but act, it must be pretty crazy to see a kid do a horror movie.🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I always wondered how kids would do in a ZomPoc. Pretty good, I guess! Great little flick - Alter never fails to please!
The kid was capable of taking care of himself, but didn’t understand that his chair, and boarding the door won’t work on a door that opens to the inside.
I absolutely love this. The pacing and tone is masterful!
Wtf.....scared the shizzznit outta me which in turn freaked my cat out. Bad shizznniiiitttt happens when I scare the 🐈 . Thanks Sam Goodwin.
I hope that wasn't Mom.
Good short. Kudos, especially to the kid.
Omg I never thought of that, the thing did have very long nails....???
Wow just wow, seems like a world fast approaching.
Kids in horror they’re either the most vulnerable or the most evil...
Thanks Alter, this was really really disturbing to me.
