Oh my god I've said for ages that I want the pilot to have a central position on the Polaris bridge. Thank you for mentioning it! That remote size 2 missile turret needs quad size 3 guns instead. The armory needs more weapon racks. The main elevator needs to move faster and it's door needs to stay open longer. There are not enough escape pods. The turrets need more energy for the weapons. The mirrors in the bunks need to be side inverted. The mess hall needs a fridge. The docking berth need EVA suit lockers. The side turrets need to be able to converge in the front of the ship. The quantum drive needs to be capital sized.
My only real issue is the rushed look of medical area. As a licensed clinical pharmacist (PharmD) currently working in a hospital pharmacy, I'd not want to treat or diagnose patients there lol. It needs better lighting and a brighter more sterile look, and some cabinets for medicine and equipment. Maybe during a future pass? Now the Carrack has a beautiful medical bay I just love and could spend lots of time in, in the future. I pray this is not an example of what to expect in the Apollo medical areas lol. Other than that, CIG has done a phenomenal job here, with the Polaris and Starlancer! I especially love the Starlancer which is my first new ship purchase in a very long time, and first MISC, not counting the Endeavor 😊 Appreciate the long video😊
@@YahBoiMocha Yeah, speaking of the 600i, I think the medical area will be excellent, because whenever i'm on the 400i, I always think "this would make a great medical/science ship", because it has that bright sterile look. 😊
What is still needed: Armory could use a table/storage for attachments and ammo, Medical could use a medical cabinet for medical supplies and areas to attach medical guns to the wall, Mess hall is missing our pool table, Brig could also use a wall storage cabinet for prisoner related items like cuffs or food items to feed prisoners, and I hope we still get an XO office inside the blocked off area because I have an XO deserving of it. The radar on the bridge needs to be made active regardless of something sitting in the pilots chair or not, and the hanger still needs "facilities to rearm, refuel, and repair" small fighters and shuttles (wheres our fuel hose, or build in machine arms to do repairs/rearming?). Captain’s chair: This should have access to all the different remote cameras in the ship(minus bathrooms) and even some additional cameras. How can you give the best commands if you cannot see whats happening yourself? Also some sort of ship-wide alert system, like a yellow and red alert option that’s different from the already implemented lighting system, something like those rotating alarm lights and a warning klaxon that goes off initially when you set the alert status.
So about the missile launcher, reason why it's got a 'low rate of fire' is cause it's actually using the proper missile system. Meaning you can load more than 1 missile to fire at a time (Default key is G to increase missile load) and release them all at once. Because it's using the same missile system as a normal ships it also has a lengthy cooldown period before starting the load process again like every other ship.
5:20 Those are battery backup compartments, not storage. Also, explosive decompression only occurs if there's an actual...explosion. Otherwise its just decompression, and it should depend on the amount of air and the size of the opening.
If the pressure of the decompression causes damage then it is considered explosive decompression. A bomb caused explosion is not necessary to fit the description. But yes the air just leaving the ship would be decompression.
I love it. It's not something I would buy, and using it seems like a huge chore, but I love that it's an option and could see myself interacting with one for a mission or something.
For the rate of fire issue... put weapon power to max in the pilots chair. It increases the magazine size to 15 for the quad s4 and 70 for the quad size s3. The performance of the turrets is linked to how much power the ship is giving to its guns. Oh also there are 6 crew rooms. So, 12+1 total including the CO's room.
this was awesome! I've actually seen it in combat in some of the other YT featuring the ship, its a shame CIG could not include engineering gameplay with this coming out, I guess they want to find out if crewing it can really be a fun experience. Excellent and informative video, can't wait to volunteer to crew that crazy ship and makes me even more excited for the other big capital ships. 😋
11:23 One of the reasons could be life support. By having all of the quarters in the same room should something happen and that room lose atmosphere everyone would die at the same time. It also gives each player and/or NPC relative privacy.
Can't wait to see this myself but until I find a solution for Windows 11 blocking Anti-Cheat it will have to wait. I would like to see CIG give the bulkhead door levers the ability to be "pumped". For example, when the ship is soft death gives the player the option to pull the lever twice in rapid succession to force the door open when there is no power. This would allow borderers to use the elevator shaft as we do at Covalex rather than being forced into ladder shafts. I find it weird that the suit lockers are as deep as they are for one suit. We also need a way to lock doors to the main junctions of the ship. We may need to lock them off because of hazards like fire between them. For example, say a fire breaks out or I want to secure the ship for defensive purposes. We need a nearby fuse box that will control the nearby doors and lights in those corridors. Thank you for the walkthrough. This video helped me understand the layout as you walked through it and didn't cut the transitions between areas. Keep them coming.
A retractable turret is made so it can have the maximal area of coverage. But not this one, this one is more limited then the fixed ones. Because "Logic".
I’ve been walking through my Polaris for the last few days but your walkthrough was a lot better. I did manage to dock at a station, the undocking wasn’t so great 3 times out of 4. Wasn’t impressed with the captains chair unless I’m missing something. Is there a hud for what’s going on?
I thought the tevaren shields on the prowler have 1 way shooting aslong as that doesn't become a thing on every ship I don't see an issue with just environmental shields being on most ships
I would have taken a little more time. But I enjoyed the video. Did you do a tour where you found the lever to open the hanger bay door open? Took me a hot minute. But I found it.
Hope they bring in a use for the Polaris. On a hundred player server with multicrew requiring multicrew to use it, going to eat up a lot of server pop with what to do? HRT? Fight other Polaris? Mmhh, not really a game Im looking to play.
I'll have to check and see if it fits. As for the XO's quarters, that came as much of a shock to me as everyone else. The only reason I could think of for why they did this is that they didn't have enough room for it anymore after they re-structured the barracks.
That makes sense or the Armory seeming upscaled from the concept ate the space up but it’s a little unfortunate. I’m however ecstatic you replied!!! I’ve been watching you since like 2019-2020! I love your content so much 🤩
Hey Law of West, Do you know if the Polaris is able to refuel, rearm and repair anything that fits in it's hanger? Waiting for it to go live before i jump in...
They actually talked about that before, Re-arming and repair are done manually. And I think that's what the intention is going to be for refueling as well after they physicalize it.
@@cicio7777 exactly that. If you look at the most recent fighters they all have a "fuel port". Inside the hanger on the Polaris are labeled fuel tanks. All that remains is what Law mentioned earlier - physicalize it by providing us a hose :-). In the near future we'll land and be our own gas station attendants. Re-arming and repairing are a bit of a mystery still... unless we truly are supposed to use the rmc repair tool. Re-arming ballistics hasn't been figured out yet either.
@@cicio7777 Doesn't seem to yet - there are two weeks worth of PTU patches coming tho'. But they could hand wave it by just letting you refuel / rearm like you do on a station pad or hanger ... if they wanted to.
A few concerns. The ship looks like it has a lot of unused space due to too many corridors. I would have designed the brig and medical areas with walk through doors rather than having a corridor in front of them. That way you would have space to better flesh out those areas and have stuff like storage spaces for medical supplies and weapons. Hell, you might even be able to have a dedicated crew quarters for each room if you just got rid of that useless corridor in front of them.
One cool thing that i saw in the polaris is you can see the camera on the ceilling of the hanger. And if someone is using it you can see the camera moving!!
Thanks for doing this walkthrough:) My PTU keeps crashing so I haven't been able to see my overpriced space jpg.

FYI the suit lockers in the Polaris armory have a bag on the shelf in the back if you look up it opens local storage with a lot of space.

What really surprised me was that a friend of mine was able to fit an Eclipse in the Hangar AND close the doors without clipping the folded wings.
The brig shows CR's roots, definite Star Wars vibe.

It spiritually feels like we traded a raising hangar floor for two ramps in the cargobay, and it was good.
I think the large access panels in the cockpit next to the avionics have to be where battery's will go
Wish you could fly it from captain chair, similar to how the upper chair in the Carrack works.

when you see that the video of the ship visit lasts more than 30 min you understand how big the ship is.
I love my Polaris, Carrack, and C2 Hercules
11:05 would be nice if the Carrack had rooms like that too. The bathroom/bunks layout in that ship makes NO sense.

I saw an Eclipse stealth bomber get tucked in. had to land with gear up to do it
It's nice to see so much stuff that actually didn't work on mine...
Mine didn't show cameras or handles or working elevators... 😅
I am sure the CO's room is gone....BUT every tour I have seen skips where it would be. Its wasn't next to, it was across the hall.
It used to be right next to the captains quarters. Emphasis on "used to be".
Can't wait how EE Studios are going to use this ship in their Machinimas.
