    ABOUT:
    Hi! I’m Valeria, and I’m a Ukrainian expat and digital nomad, currently living in Italy. I first came here without speaking the language and being totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! I love discovering Italian culture, Italian people and, of course, Italian food. I'm a full-time content creator, so when I'm not making travel videos, I'm taking photos, writing and creating artworks. Studying is another passion of mine, and currently I’m finishing my Masters degree at the University of Bologna. Here I post regular travel vlogs, tips on expat life, moving abroad, personal growth and self-esteem as a woman living abroad, so hop on and welcome on board!

    I was here in the summer and yes the crowds in the old town are extremely annoying and take away from the experience. Annecy is very beautiful but it’s better to go during less busy times of the year to really appreciate the scenery and town.

      @@Vikramt21 As an Annecy resident since birth, i would say that it depends on what you prefer, but for a normal visits where you can walk on the streets, explore moutains arounds and stuff, second half of May/first of June is really nice, nature is green, long daytime, mostly sunny, average temperatures, you should be able to swim but lake will still be a bit cold, depends on your tastes.

      @@lostfound4330 November is "cold", especially if it rains or snows and day time is short (about 9AM to 5PM). When i say its cold, its about 8-12°c on the daytime, we are not in Alaska :p
      You still can have some great time visiting in the end of fall or winter but it is more dedicated to snow activities. There are also a lot of places to visit on this period, like Chamonix, Yvoire, la Clusaz, Samoens and stuff... wich are all about 1h away in car, there are also trains to Chambery, Lyon or Geneva (in Switzerland wich is not in UE so check ID needs).
      It should not be to crowded, there is no major event on this period, and its still a bit early for main winter activities period. You will just have a random weather.
      I hope i answered to your questions. Have a good day :)

    I live in Annecy and this video does not do it justice. You probably went to the Old Town on a weekend during the high season. Of course there will be crowds. It's a place where people want to be. It is among the most popular cities/communes to visit in France. People do swim in Lac D'Annecy all the time. In fact, you can rent paddle boats with slides. And . . . of course food and drinks may be a bit more expensive in towns where folks like to visit. But . . . 3.50E for un boule of glaces is pretty reasonable. If you would like to experience "sticker shock," go to Copenhagen.

    Thank you for the clip. I personally think that you are focused on the crowds too much. It's nice to have people around - especially after a long time of lockdowns.

    • @SuWoopSparrow

      Too many people make it nearly impossible to actually enjoy what there is around you. Having people around is very different from hordes of people that you can barely squeeze through.

    • @SuWoopSparrow
      @SuWoopSparrow 6 месяцев назад

      @@FrankVaessen-j8o Yea, she may be part of the crowd, but there are different levels to the people that make up the crowd.
      Visited the Sistine Chapel once and it was completely packed. Hordes of people filled the every room and hall. You couldnt stop to focus on any single piece of artwork or read any plaque contextualizing history. Most people were there to simply say theyve been there, not to actually expand their perspectives or learn anything or even stop and simply enjoy. That devalues the experience. Go other places? Sure, but that doesnt change the fact that it is a shame and overtourism is a problem worth noting and fixing.

    Had to turn the video off after the millionth time complaining of crowds…in a touristy destination in peak season 🙄. The ‘crowds’ you show are nothing. Definitely nothing compared to Venice in summer.
