With the Dreadio (or however you spell it), finally getting weapon sets means that I can complete my Space Hulk upgrade project, were it not for the fact I can order them printed, in higher quality. The Krieg Set is 23 models that needed more balance between infantry, cav and artillery. One of my gripes is that the commander's hoarse needs to be bucking up, if only to make him stand out more from the rank and file. But it's fixable, a big job, but it's fixable. Most of the Elder refresh is alright, however that Warp Spider Phoenix Lord made me lol in how bad it is... Edited.
I will say I disagree about the doom diver, I pretty much like all the gitmob kit releases and also if I’m being 100% honest I would rather these have actually been a new 6 unit faction instead of being lumped into gloomspite. Honestly this probably has been one of their best previews in years and most of the models shown being good imo
I mainly looked at the Krieg reveal because I own and love the guard. As a guard player, I'm pretty happy that we are getting new stuff and in plastic. I do find it kinda sad that the style changed so much and agree that I prefer to older FW models because they focus more around realism in terms of their size and look while these ones seem more bulky and cartoonish? I also find it kinda sad that with these new krieg models, if they are the same as the kill team, will be difficult to build because of how GW makes their sprues these days(very confusing) and also that you can only use the bit on other krieg models unlike the older cadians and catachans that you could customize using each other's bits. In the end, I'm going to buy the Krieg boxset because I love running mass cavalry and while I already have 30 of the FW Death riders, I love the poses and these new riders as fine additions to my horse horde collection. I also like big guns and specialist teams like the engineers. Less a fan of these but will probably get a squad or two in the long term to have the melee loadouts and use my FW engineers for rest. I don't think the guard range is bloated. And I quite like guard getting more stuff. Don't think the guard vehicles like the chimera need refreshes, but it would be nice of the other tanks removed could come back like the malcadors, macharius, and others. Always love new stuff for the guard.
We need Xeno rules for Heresy. We know the Orks and Eldar were about but it would be nice to have a few new non-Imperial factions acting as irritants preventing the campaign progressing as quick as both Traitor and Loyalists would like.
From the Company that brought us Guard Players Cadians again, after 20 years... we now have less sharp looking, more cartoony Krieg. Gee.. thanks.... You really know what Guard players are missing out on. Wargames Atlantic, Anvil, ect and 3D Printing is still the more rewarding option.
I liked the Krieg a lot, though there is some stuff I wish they had added. But I like what we got for Krieg a lot. I had entire forgeworld Krieg army, and I loved it, but so many of my fellows broke at the ankles. I think they are also great conversion. I am excited for the Krieg though, I am going to buy some of them, for sure. Couldn't care less about the Eldar stuff myself, but it looked neat, I guess. The Old World is dead to me. Complete trash of an attempt to sell overpriced minis made 20-30 years ago. They should have released updated new kits, and with price improvement. Sigmar releases looked cool. Not going to buy any, but they look cool. The Horus Heresy minis are cool. I love all of the things they just released for the Heresy. However while I loved all the kits they released, we are still waiting on Dispoilers, Breachers, and basic units like apothocaries in plastic. I love seeing all these dread varients and tanks in plastic, but please give us the core troops in plastic.
The Warp Spider phoenix lord looks so good apart from the awful base. I hate how GW have to put their awful 'magic' effects on so many things now. It never looks good. I can't think of a single model off the top of my head where sculpted blood/smoke/slime/magic particle effect actually benefits the model.
The spearhead game mode is really good, and locally we have a big community for it, so im happy for the ardboyz spearhead. Other than that, i guess krieg is nice
Eldar look great DKoK look great. I just dont know how they can handle even more SKUs. It's so hard to get your hands on what you want as it is. I was quite disappointed with HH I was hoping it would of been the star of the show after being quite lacklustre recently however 40k was a surprise. I wasn’t too bothered by the Kraig as I don’t really count FW resin models being redone in plastic as new models because there’s hardly a difference (maybe some downgrade in detail depending on how old it is), however the eldar was a big surprise. 40k definitely stole it from HH of which has so much potential, everything shown could of been shown on a Thursday, I’m happy to see those tanks return however they’re a HH Thursday level content. Especially considering they’re nothing new.
The new Warp Spider Pheonix Lord looks like a ripoff of a mini by Artel W Miniatures which was way cooler due to it actually seeming to emerge from the warp portal. I would like to buy from them but they're so damned expensive it isn’t funny.
I think the aspect warriors need to look different from 2nd ed. It gives people less incentive to purchase more. Side note: Cricket matches are called test matches, because it's a test of manners and because we invented it would be polite for us to win. You aussies are just rude.
Thos reveals were probably the best one GW gave us in the last 5 years (speaking for 40k). ACTUAL stuff people wanted, needed and cared about, and it was all done pretty well. The only complain I have is the fact that the command squad is pretty... "meh" and is lacking a proper commander on foot. A commissar is nice, but it should come INSTEAD of the commander. I also thought it was pretty lame that GW was too lazy to paint a couple of tanks in the Krieger colors for their showcase, but that's a detail. And speaking of details, the absence of a "krieg crew upgrade sprue" to use on vehicles and artillery is very noticeable. The eldars are all lovely, the only thing missing is a proper update to the Dire Avengers. These guys look decent for their age, but they are very old. The only thing I wish now is for GW to bring the Shadow Specters in plastic and remake the walker as a dual kit with the wasp.... and speaking of stingy insect, a plastic hornet would be nice too. @@Darkoathdave not lapping absolutely everything up isn’t negativity, especially if those things are constant disappointments. There’s a thing called toxic positivity that too many people today have been consumed by to the point that any form of criticism or truth is seen as hateful or negativity. I also understand because I’m someone that has on multiple occasions been hopeful to see something amazing yet I’m left disappointed, and seeing better models coming out from 3rd party companies of which don’t have as much money or potential that of GW. When you look back at some of the models once produced by FW and compare them to the stuff we see now the disappointment is much greater because you’re left wondering where is the talent. "They should update The Chimera" funny that you mention that on the basis I immediately thought of turning The new Krieg into Steel Legion, considering GW loves there vehicles and refresh's hopefully that will come for guard next
the aesthetic of how the GW studio paints these Heresy models is really uninspiring. The Forge World realistic military modeling techniques made the Heresy feel like a gritty, semi realistic setting. Now it just looks like boring 40k stuff. Disappointing

Funnily/interstingly enough, Eldar is a first name in my part of balkans. Uuu, new aspect warriors, like the guns on some, fusion guns look lot beefier than they used to be, and it's nice eldar got some axes for the foot guys, now we need a mace or hammer version next. Baha has an interesting pack design, will look closer(got plans). The warp spider lord is supposedly a she, to be fair, nobody said replacement lord needs to be the same sex as the predecessor(arhra/drazhar), agree on the web here, a tactical rock would be better. Her backpack, tho, has great potential, with a few modifications, as a tech-marine or apothecary harness(at least for my "guys"). Ahm, where karandras? They could have forgotten him, or reveal at later date.
Its interesting to see when i disagree with you Macca. I love the forgeworld kits and i really dont like the newer plastic stuff. The gas masks are off, the horse guy actually boils my blood with how bad he looks compared to his horse, the death riders have the wrong helmets and torsos, and the engineers are cosplaying as grenadiers with shotguns. I do like the heavy weapons ans the artillery liece but i love the carrage batteries more.

The new Asurman model looks like they just stripped all of the cool shit off of the old one. Well sculpted but a huge downgrade in terms of design. Also I'm pretty sure the feathers on swooping hawk wings don't bend since they're made of metal.
i didnt reach people with that, i think just "why", well some krieg miniatures are pretty good and some are pretty bad, but why? all these miniatures are sidegrades or even the same unit we already have. krieg is a non release for guard, but expands the bloat... GW wasnt able to just release miniatures of the same unit, they needed to come up with units which are the same but they can make op to sell well, the whole krieg release is snake oil. i dont want to complain, because heresy is way worse...
Which are bad all the krieg stuff looks good, the only real side side grade is the command squad and heavy weapons squad yet each are unique and allow for your army to fit better, we got what me and many other guard fans wanted, refreshes to several old fw kits like riders and engineers, and a new character plus a new artillery with 4 gun options and 2 new options for heavy weapons squads and infantry squads, your just sounding like a downer complaining for the sake of complaining
The piss poor HH releases killed off any interest I had in the army. I wanted a clandestine Alpha Legion force but I wasn’t willing to use the resin models that are fitting for it. Too expensive and too fragile, as well as clearly aged compared to the rest of my army. I just abandoned the game system because if GW isn’t willing to support it then neither am I.

Let's just say a few of the dwarf heroes have literally doubled in price.
Ironbreakers for old world are double the price of ironbreakers in AoS but but you get twice as many as the AoS box, I think empire might be the same, more expensive, but more models in the box at least. Heroes I dread
Ok, but really, where are Dire Avengers or Karandras? You can't tell me they pulled new Phoenix Lord and just didn't made one for refreshed Scorpions...
I really hope both will be post-launch models like Sanguinary Guard.
dire avengers already got refreshed
@@streetmark98 They did, 18 years ago. I guess they figured they're less urgent because they're already plastic and don't look too dated though, except for the wonky Exarch helmet.
Why do I suddenly really want Macca to become an arts and crafts channel 😆. Everything he said about the AOS Orc terrain was bang on the money. I thought exactly the same thing, just make it yourself! 😂
I'm just imagining Macca doing a hobby crafting video on it. The surly tones of our lovable grumpy curmudgeon explaining how anyone can make GW terrain with foam and cocktail sticks.
"Macca does 'Art Attack' "
10/10. Would happily watch. 😊
Rip karandras
The rumour I've heard is that they literally forgot to redo him with the Striking Scorpions, so he's coming later.
Edited.
Okay what's bas about the phoenix lord
@zackcook5123 Almost everything about it, starting with that unholy abomination of a base.
@@rutgaurxi7314 strange I quite like the base.
The mechanical extra arms are really nice as well
I will say I disagree about the doom diver, I pretty much like all the gitmob kit releases and also if I’m being 100% honest I would rather these have actually been a new 6 unit faction instead of being lumped into gloomspite.
The goblin wolf rider is actually modeled after me and my furry goth gf
15:03 Don´t feel like you have to eat a bunch of icy pools...
Ohh sure NOW he tells me :P
jaffa kree more stargate references are welcome
I was hoping for a plastic Centaur
would have been nice...
Eh, the overwhelming response from the majority has been positive and they've been very well received
@@m_p3601 sales will tell, I'll ask my local GW manager how much they sold after a few months. He's a pretty honest bloke.
"Garlic Aioli Missiles"
karandros of striking scorpions is still missing
I've been unsuccessfully trying to get the Night Lords kill team since release through my store and we just cant get one. The scarcity has actually made me spend way less than i normally would on GW, and thathasn'tt been a conscious decision.
Something you missed, macca, the MESBG reveals.
Man those were some interesting reveals.
I was worried about the new edition and my armies being squatted, but seeing this made me very happy.
Yeah! I loved when they announced a new, plastic Sauron, and that every single model is getting a resculpt!
Three weeks away from release and we've heard NOTHING about GW's best system. What a shit show.
Middle Earth is going to get its own video in a few weeks from me, based on what I said in the last Middle Earth video.
@@TheOuterCircleI'm taking the piss. I don't think GW provided anything since they showed off 2 orcs and a troll.
Hell i'm confused why they didn't throw in something in the champ previous with the film being released in 2 weeks.
Love the plastic malcador variants (for 40k) rather than the arvus why not do the other solar tanks
Pretty sure they have already released updated boyz. Isn't karandras still old
in 2012 it was order to be all plastic in. from then to oct 2023 ther was restince to fallow the order. as ther was seprate web pages tell then now in 2024 the ordre is being fallowed in full as ther is oone unifided webstore. 8:42.
I would agree but I think I had a stroke reading this
ah great now i can run solar pattern cohort and do a hybrid normandy landing and klendathu role play.... yay...
Arvus Lighter the fan favourite card from horus heresy: legions
Cool Eldar stuff. Won't buy it because I can't afford this shit but still cool lol.
The new Warp Spider Pheonix Lord looks like a ripoff of a mini by Artel W Miniatures which was way cooler due to it actually seeming to emerge from the warp portal. I would like to buy from them but they're so damned expensive it isn’t funny.
This channel is monetized toxicity.
I think the aspect warriors need to look different from 2nd ed. It gives people less incentive to purchase more.
Side note: Cricket matches are called test matches, because it's a test of manners and because we invented it would be polite for us to win. You aussies are just rude.
Shh I don't want to re buy my tanks
Edit: Btw, the phoenix lord of the warp spider is a woman, because ofc, that's part of the "newgameworkshoping"
Are you actually complaining about the fact the new Phoenix Lord is a woman?
@@mr.alpharius6409 it's the modern syndrome. People for or against, are both hyper-sensitized to any perceived agenda's. It's retroactive too, effects perception of things made before all this stuff.
@@walt_man You'll have to be high on copium to believe there isn't a clear "agenda" (it's called DEI btw, its high time to start calling a spade a spade) going on at GW.
Ahh yes game workshop was woke in 1994 when they made the Phoenix lord jain zar, or it’s that’s the eldar have many strong male and female characters and your overacting to nothing
Complaining that the SPIDER Lord is female, what utter nonsense
Do you like anything mate?
He's been worn down by constant decades of disappointment by GW. Legend has it he used to be a very bright-eyed and bushy tailed little scamp in his youth. Full of hope and optimism that was dashed away by the incompetent idiocies of this indifferent world.
I like watching his vids for the same reason I watch Comedians like Jack Dee and youtubers like Yahtzee from Second Wind/ Zero Punctuation. Sometimes you need a loveable curmudgeon to say it like it is and give actual critique to people in power.
Besides, he did like something this video! He gave the Eldar refresh a 9/10! What more do you want 😋. He also liked the 'Mad-Max' shaman on the wolf chariot. Not his fault GW tends to release crud nowadays 😋.
@@In_Purple_CladI really like his content it’s just the constant negativity is a bummer sometimes.
@@Darkoathdave not lapping absolutely everything up isn’t negativity, especially if those things are constant disappointments. There’s a thing called toxic positivity that too many people today have been consumed by to the point that any form of criticism or truth is seen as hateful or negativity.
I appreciate this content because there’s too many GW yes men and it gets boring.
If you like the new stuff great however when you have seen what GW is capable of your bar of expectation becomes allot higher.
@@Darkoathdave I understand Macca presents differently than people like Kirioth but if you need someone to glaze a model on camera for it to be 'positive' then you won't enjoy these review videos. This was a very balanced video.
3rd party stuff for old world is where it's at honestly. Lovely wood elves sculpts out there
Cant believe krieg got put out from some shitty memes when they already had a full forge world range, should've been a different regiment
Steel Legion,Chem Dogs,Mordians,Vostroyons or literally anything else. Then they wonder why everyone is starting to switch over to 3d printing
People don't buy the forge world stuff in any significant numbers
Yah we got new units and greatly remade units in better quality and not forge world resin, buts it’s the regiment I don’t like
"They should update The Chimera" funny that you mention that on the basis I immediately thought of turning The new Krieg into Steel Legion, considering GW loves there vehicles and refresh's hopefully that will come for guard next
the aesthetic of how the GW studio paints these Heresy models is really uninspiring. The Forge World realistic military modeling techniques made the Heresy feel like a gritty, semi realistic setting. Now it just looks like boring 40k stuff. Disappointing
Said before and saying it again, a slav riot police beating would do wonders on the gw whoevers in charge of releasing stuff.
Iirc, the old krieg horses had bigger(and fewer) claws the first time around.
Fully agree aeldari is stupid(and heretical), eldar is superior(as are all of the pre-lawsuit ones).
The Arvus lighter should be listed on the website under the terrain section. That's what it is.
Ever think about covering Trench Crusade?
I will, but I'm mostly unimpressed.
@ is it the setting, lack of content thus, or something else?
@@CrazyMedic220 Expensive kickstarter, weird production philosophy, totally mismatched model range, selling a game which feeds on nostalgia as its selling point as much as the system itself.
I don't hate it, I just see a lot of things which raise my eyebrow.
death korps is another example how there cutting models engineer squad used to be 10 models not 5.
dkok a miss for me since i collect the FW ones where they feel more real HOWEVER... great conversion for Armaggeddon steel legion, i dont collect AOS and Fantasy so my bears little weight. The Eldar release is top tier altough the smoke on Lhykis is crap, all infantry is updated now for the range and the only ones i dont like are dark reapers faces tbh, otherwise range is great... but where are the vehicles and dire avengers?
30k was a stab in the back but little does GW know that the fanbase has started the scouring
Yeah, the Warp Spider lord looks really weird. She just doesn't have the same vibe as everything else, even the other spiders.
I’d say I like it it’s supposed to be her after using the warp spider ability of dipping in and out of the warp
@ohgodno2733 it's been done better elsewhere (artel w) and even had optional teleport effect AND optional telefragging a marine
The new Asurman model looks like they just stripped all of the cool shit off of the old one. Well sculpted but a huge downgrade in terms of design. Also I'm pretty sure the feathers on swooping hawk wings don't bend since they're made of metal.
i didnt reach people with that,
i think just "why",
well some krieg miniatures are pretty good and some are pretty bad,
but why?
all these miniatures are sidegrades or even the same unit we already have.
krieg is a non release for guard, but expands the bloat...
GW wasnt able to just release miniatures of the same unit,
they needed to come up with units which are the same but they can make op to sell well,
the whole krieg release is snake oil.
i dont want to complain, because
heresy is way worse...
That's not a bri'ish man, they're endangered
The piss poor HH releases killed off any interest I had in the army. I wanted a clandestine Alpha Legion force but I wasn’t willing to use the resin models that are fitting for it. Too expensive and too fragile, as well as clearly aged compared to the rest of my army. I just abandoned the game system because if GW isn’t willing to support it then neither am I.
Getting into other games and yeah GW is going to burn out their own audience with this shite haha so many other better companies who aren’t run by gerbils
