I found a new-smaller oil pastel set at a thrift store and thought why not. I was grateful when I came across your tutorial as I have never used pastels before. I especially like that you chose flowers to create. 🙏
This is a very helpful video, thanks. I started out with watercolors a few decades ago then tried soft pastels which I love. Last year my studio burned to the ground and I received a lot of donations from generous artists. Among them were several sets of oil pastels which to be honest I had never heard of. Anyway I’m giving them a try and so far so good but your showing the scraping effect will be a game changer.

It looks like they replaced the link for that box in the US. I messaged the company to see if they had a new link for the floral box or if it was the same colors as the landscape one. Waiting to hear back.
Есть ли у этой пастели сильный запах , у меня 12 цветов этой пастели и она очень жирная , особенно белая , но запах резкий есть , но аллергической реакции нет , может прото её у меня мало , а тут 72 шт .
Thanks Barbara. Yup, its been quit a long time since I touched oil pastels other than using a white one to add a few highlights to a mostly watercolor painting. I was pleasantly surprised but they are quite messy. These particular pastels are much softer than the ones I remember and they blend much more easily. Thanks for watching.

I am definitely not a pastel expert but these did not have a strong smell to me.
