- Manhattan and Woodlawn bound R142 and R142A (4) Trains with 149th Street bound Not In Service R62A (6) Trains @ 167th Street
Taken September 3rd
Service Change: Because of Severe Flood Damage from Hurricane Ida, (6) Train service was extremely limited between Manhattan and the Bronx. Bx15 and Bx19 buses provided alternate service. (6) Trains ran in two sections:
1. Between Pelham Bay Park and Parkchester
2. Between Brooklyn Bridge and 125th Street, and via the (4) line to/from 149th Street-Grand Concourse
My old stomping grounds! I used to live closer to the 4 train stop. Man I miss my old block on Gerard Avenue.
The (5) trains used to used R62’s
Nice! It seemed as though 6 trains relayed to as far as Burnside Avenue.
That was because the Pelham line had a flood between 138th Street 3rd Avenue and Hunt's point. There wasn't no 6 service . Between 138 and Hunt's point. That's the reason why we saw the R62as on the via 4 and 6 trains at Burnside Ave Lay up middle track.
@@leecornwell1062 I know that, but normally when 6 trains end at 149 Street, they would just relay to just north of the same station.
@@Bklynkid52 I'm glad of that to see a R62as lay up on the Jerome avenue 4 line . Every body was waiting for this to happen. However there is still goona be a lots of movements around I'm telling you. It's not over yet until GOD says it's over.
I pray and hope that. This happens again some day. I know that they miss there R62s on the Jerome avenue 4 line. Now you have most of the R142s on the 4 line and 17 R142as on the Jerome avenue 4 line. The Pelham line has no R142as just straight up R62as.
They definitely need to put those orange stickers on the R142/as permitted.
..uh, how does this subway thing work?? I mean does each separate car unit have some type of security dude in it.. in case things get nasty and a fight ensue? Or does one just push a button and the conductor hustles back there and breaks it up? Where I'm from we still ride horse and buggy. 🤷🏿
There’s no security on the trains, closest thing being the NYPD riding for a few stops. On the R142s and R142As, there’s an emergency intercom that connects with the conductor if it’s needed. For the SMEE equipment (like the 6 train you saw), there is no intercom.
the r142 sound just like the r160 0:50
i mean yea the have the same propulsion system..
Not-In-Service R62 6 trains? Ok. Nice.
Those were probably the R62 4 trains getting returned back to the 6 line
@@172NR no it wasn’t.
@@Jay_TheCollection1143 dude, read the description.
It’s doing that due to loss of Westchester Yard access, I’m going to assume it’s going to Jerome
They were being relayed to/from 149 Street-Grand Concourse.
:)
