- India could record roughly 1.6 million new cancer cases by next year, with projections showing the country will reach 15.7 million cases in total then. This is according to a report released earlier this year by Indian multinational healthcare group Apollo Hospitals, which dubbed India the “cancer capital of the world”. CNA’s Ishan Garg travelled to Gangnauli village, about two hours from the capital New Delhi, to find out why its population has been ravaged by the disease.
