Please keep in mind that if you are playing modded Atlas, the game is constantly evolving, with the devs changing the mechanics almost every few months. This sometimes breaks a mod for a while until the mod developer can catch up, or, may even make the mod dev give up completely (as they sometimes do in any modded community). If things "break" with my mod list, I try to catch up and let people know how to fix them, so please be sure to reach out if you are having issues and I can do my best to help.
@@xSOVxMUFASA Yes, the grid is online and working well. With only 4 grids, there's not much in the way of dungeons, but I have included a mod that auto gives all the powerstones and essences, so you can do most everything else. Treasure maps work fine, and I hope to be expanding soon to a 9 grid map that will have all powerstone islands, and the Kraken. And you are welcome to stream or make vids on the maps, you just would want to let others know so they can either join in with you or avoid mucking up your vid. We DO have the Yeti dungeon, but no one has made the attempt as of yet LOL
Hey OG I have so many compliments about this video and the way that you responded to every post or question. Unlike 99% of other creators that give 1-3 responses and forget about it. I hope at this date you are still having fun with it. I too started when it came out, and found the official servers terrible. Spam spam and more spam. Even the Official PvE server is spammed to death. Stupid. I hope to meet you in IQ soon. Ive loved this game from the start, glitches and all.. although sometimes it seems the devs do more harm than good with updates LOL. I dont get on much these days, got a lot going on IRL, but I do run a small 4 grid server for the OGs. Its PvE and a great place to get used to the game again if you are interested. Thankfully someone alerted me in the comments, and after checking it out in my stream last night, and finding the Captaineering unlock missing... got right to sciencing it out. Happily, I found the solution!
Just realized that some mod authors are not able to keep up with the iterations that Grapeshot keeps putting out there, and sometimes the mod breaks the game or makes some skills disappear (See my vid "I Screwed Up"). Btw, I just started up a single grid map for the OGs out there, join my discord and head to #atlas channel for details. Just something to help people get started.

This is helping me in 2024, now that the official servers are gone and I only liked playing pvp - this is the closest I can get to that experience. One thing I would like to know though, before I make the experiment myself, do you have the ability to trade with yourself in single player? i.e. have warehouses and markets scattered around different islands enabling resource swapping?
Thanks for the question. In the past you could not, but Im not sure if they changed that. In my last play thru, I made it to the point where I was getting ready to do it and the game crashed with a corrupt save (something that has plagued SP from the launch). Be sure to save your game often, especially BEFORE logging out each time.. just to make sure you have a back up to return to in case that is still broken.
So, decided to give this setup a shot, and overall I like the mod selection! However, XP gain is pretty ridiculous with this, as watching the tutorials and killing 2 lvl 28 creatures (pig and chicken) resulted in me getting some pretty insane levelling (lvl 40 now).
Yeah, it's more designed for a person who only has a few hours a week to play, so they can get out on the water faster. I'm gonna be starting a new play thru soon and likely doing it on the Indecent Queens servers since the island pirates are broken on single player, they mesh underground so you can't capture a lot of their bases

Super, just getting back into Atlas single player again. I'ma try mods now. Also I like the tramp freighter as a starter hauler adventurer because it's so fast. The cog I use to fly to Freeport and back.
You've had more luck than I did! LOL First modular I built was a Tramp and it moved so slow I got blown out of the water by AI pirates during a metal run. I tried the Pegasus to do animal hauling, but the deck disappeared, then the water line showed thru the hull as if the whole thing was flooded and had no bottom... I took it out and scuttled it and went back to building my own ships :) Game is still fun though.. I have a blast playing!

I'm just barely into the vod but the very first setting, where would I put this to have the top wild level creature before taming to be 30. I play a lot of DarksideRP and I try to have things set as close to their standard settings as possible. Also, I see you play on IQ. I'm playing on IQ. Welcome to the OG movement! :) That vid is a little dated as they have had two seasons (game updates) pass since then. The single player is getting a LOT more stable, but the AI Pirates on the islands are still broken, so unless you want to get frustrated, Id turn those off. Also, the mods in the vid may or may not be kept up to date by the mod owners.. see my vid "I Messed UP" for a fix on Captaineering. I am doing a live series on Single Player as I can (in the process of moving from VA to NC) so that is a much more up to date on Season 12 features :) Im also running a "learning grid" of Atlas servers for new players to learn the ropes. Details are in my discord, which is linked in the vid description. Come on by if you'd like!
@@OldGamerzNeverDie Where is the setting and, what do you set it on if you want the animals to ONLY reach the top wild level at 30 before tamingl. This is the norm for DarksideRP which is a roleplaying platform I have played 5 seasons.
This game use to be an absolute mess in single player on Xbox. We would randomly lose our ships. We'd spawn in the middle of the ocean. Our bases and boats would randomly stop belonging to us. Do you know if they fixed it?
I havent experienced that since I started playing again this year, but Im playing on pc. I did experience things like that on public servers even on pc in the early days. I know that they have done a LOT of work since the new dev team came in during late 2021, so give these settings a shot and see if it works better for you. Sorry, but the mods wont help since they are for pc.

Hey good afternoon. I'm new to Atlas and I found your channel by searching Google for Atlas gameplays. I started a save with these settings, but without the mods. The animals that I tame that are of a higher level have their skills locked. I can't add points, because the high level tamed animal doesn't go up a level. Where do I configure it so that this doesn't happen.
Unfortunately, this is due to a coding issue in the game, and the only way I have been able to change it is to add a small mod called TnM Powerstone Tameable. This unlocks leveling on powerstone island creatures as well as all vanilla critters so that even if they start at or above the games upper limit, they can still level like normal.
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, actually just had someone else ask this exact same question and had to check back that YT wasnt clearing my comments from "not responeded to" bin LOL So, the settings still hold to the test of time (at least in my opionon) and should give you a well balanced play thru, and I think I pointed out where indiuals might want to tweak things up or down to fit their play style (its been a while since I posted this). As for the mods, well.. I dont blame the modders.. Grape Shot keeps changing things up in their updates that can wreak havoc on the mods. But here is the list that I am currently running on the OG 2x2 grid that I am running for folks in my discord (come on out if you want to dip your feet back in). Marvelous Spyglass, Ship Repair Crew, Crew Goodies Recipes, SPUK Advanced Structures, Custom Shipyards, Unlockable Submarine (with only 4 grids on the OG server, we don't have the Kraken), Unlockable Power Stones (same reason), Item Grinder, Rustic Buildings, Indianman Ship, Mythic Compass, Warm Weather Clothing, Stables, Lazys Armor Stand, Pick Up Hammer, Vanilla Farm V2, More Crops, Magic Flasks, Revys Mods - Core (required for his mods to work), TnM Powerstone Tameable and a few mods to help me admin the servers that really don't impact solo play. These are all 100% working at the moment. As I said, you are also welcome to come play on the OG servers..details are in my discord and we have a great group of people willing to help new and returning players
Mods are available in Steam. Just go to Atlas in your Library, click on WORKSHOP and it will take you to the available mods for Atlas. Keep in mind that some no longer work, so you may want to stick with some that show recent updates. As for the "teacher" Im not sure I understand what you mean... if you are talking about the tutorial, it can be shut off in the game settings. Hit ESC while in game, click on OPTIONS, and find the check box for Turtrial, and uncheck it.
The Shipwright mod provides a compass in the ships wheel (you can place it on any ship) but that mod often seems to break the skill tree. There is another mod called Master Navigator that has a skill step that grants the sextant buff (including compass) permanently without having to do the minigame. @OGND I have try'd to play this game so many times ever update but the i can never play more then a few days before my map bugs out an just turns gray ive tried deleting the map number files i've tried downloading a pdf from the discord for the community server i was on an still about 2 to 4 or 5 days then its gone an dosn't come back even re-installing sometimes it dosn't fix it do you know a way to fix this?
It depends. If it's free on game pass, AND you can overlook some glaring bugs that Grapeshot has never tried to address, (kinda like Wildcards treatment of Ark) then yes, it CAN be a lot of fun as a Single Player game. Official servers are a different story, and unless you're fortunate, it's likely to be an exercise in futility with grinding being a significant time drain. Just my honest opinion.
is Atlas a decent single player game ? I want to buy the game but the negative reviews about the game and the single player made me back off the purchase, well, it is also true that many of the reviews I saw are months old, the game is on sale maybe I will buy or not I will see this video and decide at the end of the video
I hope the video helped you out in your decision. Atlas is a love it/hate it game like many others.. if you accept that there WILL be glitches (and you can see some that Ive experienced in my single player walk thru's) then the challenge and adventure that await are amazing. For under $10 US, Id say its worth the investment, but it IS still early access and being worked constantly. Which is where some of the bugs come in as they continue to fine tune the game for full release. If you are interested in playing with a group, Id suggest checking out Indecent Queens servers (link is in the description of this vid) and give them a whirl. I'll be back on Atlas streaming again from my island on Indecent Queens this month (Nov). Hop in my discord for more info :)

I set up a SP with these mods and I can not find how to unlock Captaineering Skill anywhere. It remapped the unlocks and even though I have repeatedly looked I can not find it. Not certain if it is my game being bugged or if that is an issue?
Its been a while since Ive played this on single player, but I believe when you unlock Seamanship in Construction/Merchantilism, it also unlocks Captaineering. I'll be streaming this again tomorrow night and will address this issue right away. I can't "unclick" anything once I do it, so want to do the skill upgrades on stream. I know it gets unlocked because I had the repair podium on my last SP ship build. Saying all that... if the mod authors created a conflict, I'll figure out what it is and get you an answer in my stream tomorrow night. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'll get it scienced out. Thanks for pointing this out!
I have the answer for you! After doing some research I've found that the AA mods are the culprit. To avoid uninstalling then and losing their benefit, you can install CG Captaineering, which restores Captaineering unlock for 10 points, under the survival tree. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.
Has anyone else had issues with their ships disappearing on single player? I’ve started 3-4 times and eventually my ship will just disappear. It’s frustrating cause I really like this game. Any help is appreciated. Thank you! I probably should mention it’s on Xbox series x
I havent had that issue on PC, however, I HAVE had issues with modular ships glitching out so that the entire deck just disappears and the water level comes thru the bottom of the ship. It got to the point on my Pegasus that I just scuttled it and now I build all my ships customized from scratch. No more modulars for me.
Unfortunately that happens as mod devs drop out and stop updating their mods (thats why I have the pinned comment below) The next time I update the vid, I'll likely leave out the mod list for just that reason. I do have a server cluster that is still running many of them, and you are welcome to come check us out if you are interested in playing in a small group of PvE players just in it to have fun :) Server info is in my discord, link to discord is in the vid description.
12 hours in the one official PVE server, could not find a decent place to settle. I like seeing buildings and structures that make places look like they're lived in, but all these different shipyards for different things? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? It's shipyard spam, basically. Adding to the already silly copious loot table drops.
Yeah.. official servers are borked.. full of pillar spamming and such. Look for a good unofficial server to try... I have the link to Indecent Queens website, they host both Ark and Atlas servers and make it fun to play.
Eh.. I feel ya... seems like the devs would rather screw stuff up then fix things... but it does have its moments. Ive been playing since launch, and there have definitely been some stormy seas, but something keeps pulling me back.. eternal blind hope I suppose.
@@KitKalvert Oh yeah.. after the last update debacle, I lost half my stuff (so rebuilding from a patch that was only suppose to impact Xbox players on PvP but somehow lagged out EVERY server). Lots of people bailed so I got a nice new spot.. but Season 12 will be here at some point and another wipe will blow it all away.
These boosted settings for lazy people that don't want to have to try. These shard type games where playing can boost the server is trash and needs to go away. Tames take hours for bigger tames because they greatly impact legit game play. By harvesting more efficiently and/or carry tons of weight for you , so yea 4 hours for an elephant is worth it. You said on official settings you play for hours to get nowhere you must be bad cuz tons of people played official a few hours a week and max out. Yes cheats make stuff easy and fun but effectively useless for feeling accomplished. Because you can never claim you effectively beat the game as intended the moment you take it off official settings.
You're welcome to your opinion. I played this game on official, from launch, on PVP for several years. I know the grind, lived the long term taming/breeding back when your babies that you were raising for days died because the temp changed a few degrees. And still made it to max out my kit and character. This guide is intended for people who want to have some fun with the game and do not have 20 to 30 hours a week to play. Not all gamers can play every day, or even every week. So yeah, I get it. But everyone has to play the game that can fit their lives, not fit their lives around a game.

5 seasons.
This game use to be an absolute mess in single player on Xbox. We would randomly lose our ships. We'd spawn in the middle of the ocean. Our bases and boats would randomly stop belonging to us. Do you know if they fixed it?
I havent experienced that since I started playing again this year, but Im playing on pc. I did experience things like that on public servers even on pc in the early days. I know that they have done a LOT of work since the new dev team came in during late 2021, so give these settings a shot and see if it works better for you. Sorry, but the mods wont help since they are for pc.

Hey good afternoon. I'm new to Atlas and I found your channel by searching Google for Atlas gameplays. I started a save with these settings, but without the mods. The animals that I tame that are of a higher level have their skills locked. I can't add points, because the high level tamed animal doesn't go up a level. Where do I configure it so that this doesn't happen.
Unfortunately, this is due to a coding issue in the game, and the only way I have been able to change it is to add a small mod called TnM Powerstone Tameable. This unlocks leveling on powerstone island creatures as well as all vanilla critters so that even if they start at or above the games upper limit, they can still level like normal.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, actually just had someone else ask this exact same question and had to check back that YT wasnt clearing my comments from "not responeded to" bin LOL So, the settings still hold to the test of time (at least in my opionon) and should give you a well balanced play thru, and I think I pointed out where indiuals might want to tweak things up or down to fit their play style (its been a while since I posted this). As for the mods, well.. I dont blame the modders.. Grape Shot keeps changing things up in their updates that can wreak havoc on the mods. But here is the list that I am currently running on the OG 2x2 grid that I am running for folks in my discord (come on out if you want to dip your feet back in).
Marvelous Spyglass, Ship Repair Crew, Crew Goodies Recipes, SPUK Advanced Structures, Custom Shipyards, Unlockable Submarine (with only 4 grids on the OG server, we don't have the Kraken), Unlockable Power Stones (same reason), Item Grinder, Rustic Buildings, Indianman Ship, Mythic Compass, Warm Weather Clothing, Stables, Lazys Armor Stand, Pick Up Hammer, Vanilla Farm V2, More Crops, Magic Flasks, Revys Mods - Core (required for his mods to work), TnM Powerstone Tameable and a few mods to help me admin the servers that really don't impact solo play. These are all 100% working at the moment. As I said, you are also welcome to come play on the OG servers..details are in my discord and we have a great group of people willing to help new and returning players

How do I go about getting mods for PC? Is there a way to remove the teacher between players?
Mods are available in Steam. Just go to Atlas in your Library, click on WORKSHOP and it will take you to the available mods for Atlas. Keep in mind that some no longer work, so you may want to stick with some that show recent updates. As for the "teacher" Im not sure I understand what you mean... if you are talking about the tutorial, it can be shut off in the game settings. Hit ESC while in game, click on OPTIONS, and find the check box for Turtrial, and uncheck it.
hello, you know a mod , that works, that gives you a kompass oder something like that bei sailing on the screen ?
The Shipwright mod provides a compass in the ships wheel (you can place it on any ship) but that mod often seems to break the skill tree. There is another mod called Master Navigator that has a skill step that grants the sextant buff (including compass) permanently without having to do the minigame. @OGND I have try'd to play this game so many times ever update but the i can never play more then a few days before my map bugs out an just turns gray ive tried deleting the map number files i've tried downloading a pdf from the discord for the community server i was on an still about 2 to 4 or 5 days then its gone an dosn't come back even re-installing sometimes it dosn't fix it do you know a way to fix this?

It depends. If it's free on game pass, AND you can overlook some glaring bugs that Grapeshot has never tried to address, (kinda like Wildcards treatment of Ark) then yes, it CAN be a lot of fun as a Single Player game. Official servers are a different story, and unless you're fortunate, it's likely to be an exercise in futility with grinding being a significant time drain. Just my honest opinion.

I want to buy the game but the negative reviews about the game and the single player made me back off the purchase, well, it is also true that many of the reviews I saw are months old, the game is on sale maybe I will buy or not I will see this video and decide at the end of the video
I hope the video helped you out in your decision. Atlas is a love it/hate it game like many others.. if you accept that there WILL be glitches (and you can see some that Ive experienced in my single player walk thru's) then the challenge and adventure that await are amazing. For under $10 US, Id say its worth the investment, but it IS still early access and being worked constantly. Which is where some of the bugs come in as they continue to fine tune the game for full release. If you are interested in playing with a group, Id suggest checking out Indecent Queens servers (link is in the description of this vid) and give them a whirl. I'll be back on Atlas streaming again from my island on Indecent Queens this month (Nov). Hop in my discord for more info :)

I set up a SP with these mods and I can not find how to unlock Captaineering Skill anywhere. It remapped the unlocks and even though I have repeatedly looked I can not find it. Not certain if it is my game being bugged or if that is an issue?
Its been a while since Ive played this on single player, but I believe when you unlock Seamanship in Construction/Merchantilism, it also unlocks Captaineering. I'll be streaming this again tomorrow night and will address this issue right away. I can't "unclick" anything once I do it, so want to do the skill upgrades on stream. I know it gets unlocked because I had the repair podium on my last SP ship build. Saying all that... if the mod authors created a conflict, I'll figure out what it is and get you an answer in my stream tomorrow night. Sorry for the inconvenience but I'll get it scienced out. I have the answer for you! After doing some research I've found that the AA mods are the culprit. To avoid uninstalling then and losing their benefit, you can install CG Captaineering, which restores Captaineering unlock for 10 points, under the survival tree. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.
Has anyone else had issues with their ships disappearing on single player? I’ve started 3-4 times and eventually my ship will just disappear. It’s frustrating cause I really like this game. Any help is appreciated. Thank you! I probably should mention it’s on Xbox series x
I havent had that issue on PC, however, I HAVE had issues with modular ships glitching out so that the entire deck just disappears and the water level comes thru the bottom of the ship. It got to the point on my Pegasus that I just scuttled it and now I build all my ships customized from scratch. No more modulars for me.

Bunch of these mods are causing crashes.
Unfortunately that happens as mod devs drop out and stop updating their mods (thats why I have the pinned comment below) The next time I update the vid, I'll likely leave out the mod list for just that reason. 12 hours in the one official PVE server, could not find a decent place to settle. I like seeing buildings and structures that make places look like they're lived in, but all these different shipyards for different things? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? It's shipyard spam, basically. Adding to the already silly copious loot table drops.
Yeah.. official servers are borked.. full of pillar spamming and such. Look for a good unofficial server to try... I have the link to Indecent Queens website, they host both Ark and Atlas servers and make it fun to play.

Eh.. I feel ya... seems like the devs would rather screw stuff up then fix things... but it does have its moments. Ive been playing since launch, and there have definitely been some stormy seas, but something keeps pulling me back.. eternal blind hope I suppose.

@@KitKalvert Oh yeah.. after the last update debacle, I lost half my stuff (so rebuilding from a patch that was only suppose to impact Xbox players on PvP but somehow lagged out EVERY server). Lots of people bailed so I got a nice new spot.. but Season 12 will be here at some point and another wipe will blow it all away.

These boosted settings for lazy people that don't want to have to try. These shard type games where playing can boost the server is trash and needs to go away. Tames take hours for bigger tames because they greatly impact legit game play. By harvesting more efficiently and/or carry tons of weight for you , so yea 4 hours for an elephant is worth it. You said on official settings you play for hours to get nowhere you must be bad cuz tons of people played official a few hours a week and max out. Yes cheats make stuff easy and fun but effectively useless for feeling accomplished. Because you can never claim you effectively beat the game as intended the moment you take it off official settings.
You're welcome to your opinion. I played this game on official, from launch, on PVP for several years. I know the grind, lived the long term taming/breeding back when your babies that you were raising for days died because the temp changed a few degrees. And still made it to max out my kit and character. This guide is intended for people who want to have some fun with the game and do not have 20 to 30 hours a week to play. Not all gamers can play every day, or even every week. So yeah, I get it. But everyone has to play the game that can fit their lives, not fit their lives around a game.
