I got 20% on my windshield 2 days ago and it was terrible for ME at night. I had to change it. I was going for 35% but saw this video and went for 50%. The 50% still looks mean. I kept the 20% on front sides. I definitely suffered a Lost paying another $150. I just wish I did deep research at the begining.
35% is not bad at all. Maybe if you’re 60+ y/o. I drive with 35% front and 15% all sides. Ceramic FormulaOne tint. I drive rural with barely any light. Super easy.
I got 15% on my windshield, at night, I can only see other cars with their headlights and taillights and besides that, I can only see as far as my headlights stretch. If someone crosses the street or an animal, they’re 100% fucked. But it’s great in the day.
This made me feel so much better about the tint I want I didn’t realize how light 35 was lol. Thank you. Definitely going to run the same setup as you. Hopefully slap a banner on soon too😎
I got 5% all around and 35% on the shield, I drive a suv and Believe me you can’t see shit threw the shield at certain hours of the day and when it’s not SUPER sunny, but when it is SUPER sunny you can see threw it to make out silhouettes, I’m about to get 25% to give it that Absolute Stealth Look, that’s all it needs.
Please don't get 35% tint on your windshield, this will get you into so, so, so much shit if you cause a wreck or hit somebody because of this, this is a major precursor to some serious charges if you do. Get 50% and call it a day.
35% on mine. 35% isnt that dark at all. Its a light shade of tint. I wouldnt go any lower though for night driving. Id say 35 is the max limit for night to maintain a safe vision level. 20% put a strain on you at night to see anything where there arent any lights

It depends on the quality of the tint too. Cheap 35 is bad compared to 35 by llumar. I have 35 llumar and I can’t even tell there is tint there and I see better at night.
Yeah, this was the nail in the coffin for me I think. I live in a rural area and being honest it wouldn't be safe for me to drive like that... I could hardly tell you had your headlights on. It's too bad because I would love the extra privacy. 35 is for cities with very good visibility all the time. EDIT: Ended up getting 50% ceramic... It's fine in low light for privacy.. On sunny days it won't do much... On dark, badly-lit rural roads with a bad tree line it is pushing it
Thanks! Dang. My car has a bright beige interior so even with 50% it looks like a black interior with nothing or 70%. I might need to drop down to 35 and just grow some balls about it. I mean as long as I don't go driving into the forest I'm sure I'll be able to adapt to it lol

Did you end up going darker? I have 55% on my windshield currently but I have brown seats and a beige headliner so it basically looks like I have no tint on sunny days. I’m about to double up my 55% with 70% and should put me around 38.5%. I’m hoping it’s not too dark at night lol

Companies such as Llumar and 3M take this into account and produce their films slightly lighter in order to account for what the glass will add to it. Other companies do not, and only advertise the film as is before being applied to glass. Once applied to glass, the VLT is actually even lower than what was advertised; 50% may actually be 40%.
I had 50% traditional tint on the windshield 15 years ago and I thought it was too dark at night. I suggest 70% front 50 sides if you do night driving.

I’m in Oregon too :) I’ve always ran 15% tint on my side windows and 5% tint on my back window! Might tint my windshield of my Nissan 370Z to 35% now lol I’ve had malignant melanoma so I can show the cops my affidavit stating I can have any tint level legally =p

Does windshield tint make your side windows look darker? I currently have 5% back windows 20% front 2 windows and on sunny days people can see me clearly through the front. Wanted to get a windshield tint to fix that rather than have to retint the front.

@@douglascabinatan6042 i got 35 on windshield, a video is on my channel. Ive gotten parking tickets, and driven past / been next to tons of cops and never got pulled over yet. My interior is a light tan color though so the tint looks alittle lighter than usual (it's super dark at night). When you first get the tint, its tough to see in areas with no street lights at night + its alittle tougher to park at night but you'll get used to it after acouple days

Great video, so no hate at all... but I've watched dozens of videos on 15% tint and i swear every video has people filming in the rain, cloudy days, dusk, dawn, or at night. For me, I want to see how the tint performs in WORST case scenario, bright sun. Like i said, Im not ragging on you, but geez why does everyone show their tint in low light conditions lmao.

My Current set up 5 percent all around , windshield 5 percent . Day time you see fine , mid day you see fine . Night time very hard to see and if it rains extra hard to see . Definitely recommend 50 % or 35 % on windshield . 20 % is darkest you should go lol . I’m changing my windshield to 35 or 50 percent .

35% is way too dark for us in PA especially at night it's dangerous as fuck.. So I ended up getting it removed immediately just for safety purposes

J J 35 won’t look blacked out, 20 most likely would. If you’re talking about pictures I could make it look blacked out with a filter
