      junior Totally agree, I'd almost forgotten how good the commentary was back then. Now we have to suffer John "the gobshite" hindhaugh. His commentary is amateurish at best, not like these guys, who actually knew what they were saying. "Just cos Audi payed for a couple of your track days doesn't make you an expert ya mackam", that'll be shouted at the radio a few times this year no doubt. He couldn't get his name right if you asked him, thank god he takes a break and allows others to have a say.

      @@v8trauma There was a time I really liked Jon Hindaugh his commentary but in the end your review of his abilities seems to be correct. Can't stand all the "we're not sponsored but here is an interview that is clearly paid upfront, as we can't bother talking about the race right now".

    • @v8trauma
      @v8trauma 5 лет назад

      Orvieta he's upset a lot of people in his circle. I have a friend who would defend him whenever we spoke On the subject of rlm, his livelihood depended on it. Recently my friend has come round to my way of thinking and shared a few fascinating insights of how things are done at rlm. I can't help wonder who he sponges off now audi are out of the picture. His opinion of Peugeot their first year was so biased, he did the same with Toyota, how dare they show up to the audi & hindhough show ...
      They've had some fabulous guests on the show and knowledgeable presenters, shame he has to be involved.

    Seems like crazyness but wet tires work so good but have to be cooled by water I just learned getting kart racing...the wet get so hot because a part from grooving...they are extremely super sticky an on kart wheel damage wheel bearings...so race drivers an team rid it out for as long as possible on sticky slick tires which will work quite good till the water become very deep and puddled then as the English say whoops off u go....thanks great stuff I have not had my race kart out in mixed wet conditions yet,but have been out in a rental kart with a hard slick and a tiny bit of water here and there on gone right off it was good....no Injurys but nut a chance of saving it....like I said not good....and u thought racing was all fun and calculated....u wish....thanks great stuff I'm real impressed with Le Mans organizers they really have a good body and safety as a top priority....were in other forms of racing its of a drivers sense of safety....and not a matter of the sanctioning body...I mean mainly reaction s to yellows is not equal or obeyed and corrected here it is....mite take a few laps but they get u....which is the way it should be....then drivers all react the same....

    radicalsquare Milka's problem wasn't that she wasn't very intelligent. She just didn't have what it takes to race like Danica Patrick, Simona DeSilvestro, Janet Guthrie, and Lyn St. James. Whenever she raced in the ICS, she raced always like a rookie, not a veteran. ICS even called her on it because she couldn't keep up to the pace of what the Indy cars could handle and when people lapped her she always was in their way. Regardless of her success in other motorsports, Milka wasn't crazy and daring enough to race at 225 mph. That's where the hate is coming from. Even Danica who some here will have issues with (every time I turn around there's always a hater) gave Milka a piece of her mind when Milka didn't give Danica room to pass her and drove dangerously.

      Safety standards, you mean drivers actually paying more attention to WTF is going on on the track. The marshalls are not the problem here, IF drivers drive to the conditions taking into account that there are marshalls on the track then there is ZERO problem with safety. You're another that fails to understand why human beings take more risks after so called 'safety' aids and procedures are put in place.

    • @KevinBYee
      @KevinBYee 7 лет назад +3

      Dude, it's a clear and obvious improvement these days where marshalls don't enter the track under these conditions just to push a car out of the gravel. This is how a marshall was badly injured by Brundle's car at Suzuka way back when. Obviously the rain is coming down hard, people are getting caught out on slicks, all it takes is one slight aquaplane and you have a marshall getting sandwiched between the two cars off track. Also, why you heff to be mad?

    • @mikedehooghblackflagracephotos
      @mikedehooghblackflagracephotos 6 лет назад

      Dudes... standards? Improvements? To this day in F1 and pretty much everything else other than U.S racing marshalls are out on the track protected by nothing more than a 'local' yellow flag. It's insanity. Look at what happened to Jules Bianchi in the Japanese GP of 2014. That was under yellow.

    • @7mgtesup1
      @7mgtesup1 6 лет назад

      He was driving at racing speed under a double waved yellow....... and we know what the outcome was. Slow down and be prepared to stop is what a double waved yellow means, now if drivers would actually do that then there is no reason why a marshal can not be on the track at the same time. Unfortunately drivers seem to think it means have a gentle lift of the throttle and only lose a couple of tenths.

      you keyboard warriors have no clue about RACE CARS..and these international drivers are all idiots LMAO according to you, - slow them down you say??lmao, these are RACE CARS, there is a point ( a threshold) where you have no temperature in the brakes or pressure in the tires if you slow too much making them more prone to jackknifing and more unpredictable and dangerous.. keep typing crap keyboard warriors while we real racers race cars as they need to be

  • @METALLICA3077
    @METALLICA3077 12 лет назад

    In extremely wet weather, such as that seen in the 2007 European Grand Prix, In very wet races or thunderstorms such as the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix or 2012 Malaysian GP, the tyres are unable to provide a safe race due to the amount of water, and so the race can be red flagged. The race is suspended for any period of time until the cars can race safely again
    so your statement "If there was so much as one drop of rain in an F1 race they would just red flag it" is ridiculous.

    Then again, Ms. Duno is driving at Le Mans. Have you declined any offers?

    Do you know, in some parts, despite existance years of dry + sunny weather with some clouds interviduals, or whatever... But this year in 2001, I think you, all or some meant the weather forecast suppose to be because is Heavy Downpour or Sharp Showers behind all that in some sections with danger corners could it trigger. On the other sides likely, Dry and Sunny Spells Intervidual in 2001.
    Surely that Chaos of Some Downpour or Heavy Rains, of 24 Hour Le Mans or 24 Heures Du Mans in 2001? Is It?!

    Waaaaay too many marshals on track. Easy for me to say in hindsight, but I'd have redded that.

    So many people on track with the race going on, tractors on track. Why not just give the fans a lawn chair and put them on track.

    slow them down lmao, these are RACE CARS, there is a point ( a threshold) where you have no temperature in the brakes or pressure in the tires if you slow too much making them more prone to jackknifing and more unpredictable and dangerous,
