But what if I live in a plain house in a humble neighborhood, can I only swap with similar properties?

Great question! We don't have the biggest house at all but that's where swapping for Points works so well. They don't come to yours, you stay at theirs and then they use the points to stay at the house they want. You may be surprised at how many people may want to stay at yours: they might have friends or family near or maybe your locations is really good.

Five kids on a three hour is probably tougher!!!! We just got to the point where our two were getting easier on a flight and we now have a newborn so back to square one! Thanks for watching!!

Sounds great but... what if they break/stuff something in my house???

You should hide your real valuables and have home insurance for any accidents to expensive items that you wouldn't hide (TV/cooker). There is also an insurance you can get for Home Swaps which covers everything. We've done loads of swaps. One of the kids broke a toy so we left cash to replace it, so there are several ways to cover any accidents.

Just a quick question did you every swap your home? Or just use the points?

Hi Bal, we did it just with Points for that trip. The top tier gets you the most when you sign up: bit.ly/2ebOBZO

Thanks for your video, we are hoping to do this next year for washington DC Can you explain how it works if your family you are swapping with, how do they go somewhere eles, i do not understand the point thing I have just joined Homeexchange com

+Mauriosa Wall Hi Mauriosa, we went with Love Home Swap which allows you to swap for Points rather than do a direct swap where they stay at yours (although that is an option). I'm not sure if HomeExchange does Points swapping, though.
If they do have Points, you collect 700 points (or their equivalent) for letting someone stay at yours. You can use those 700 points to stay in a house in Washington. It stops the need for both families wanting to swap directly with one-another. Hope that helps. 👍🏼

Thanks but do you only get points in this way. Its just we will always be in our house except when we go on our summer two week holidays

+Mauriosa Wall You get the Points as soon as you agree a trip, so you don't have to wait for someone to stay at yours before you travel. You can agree the swaps for the same dates. That's what we did. You can also do a traditional swap, if you'd prefer. Does that answer your question?

$10,000 a night resort??? That seems odd. It doesn’t seem that fancy. Paws Up glamping resort seems way fancier to me and it’s not $10 grand a night. Did you mean a 10k sq ft resort??

I'm pretty sure when I Googled their resort it was $10k a night for the full experience. Crazy, huh?!
