    These videos are pretty cool that you're making. I won ten thousand dollars once on Mega Million. one number of from 195 million. I was still happy with the 10,000. paid a lot of bills. one of these days I'll win a big jackpot. it's just a feeling inside knowing that I will win one of these days.. I also hit 5 numbers on SuperCash . I almost won two major jackpots but no cigar. LOL. keep up the good videos .

    I agree that money doesn't buy happiness and experience is what makes you happy however travelling requires money and most everyday hard working people have to save up for years for a decent trip overseas. It must be a beautiful feeling to be able to have that simple life and not worry about money. That in itself feels like happiness to me. That sigh of relief. Love the interviews. Thank you

    I live a comfortable lifestyle, but always think about winning the lottery. If I do win, I’d love to share the experience with your channel.
    I cringed hearing the taxes you winners have to pay in the US.
    I’m really enjoying your interviews, and especially how you don’t talk over the person like so many do. 👍🇨🇦

    Casinos are coming to Japan and a lot of people are against them. As he said most people loose everything. He was very lucky and still works so good for him. With 4 million dollars I would just invest half of what is left after I am debt and mortgage free. Maybe move outside of Tokyo or to another area. It would be a big prize for Japan.

    • @TimothySchultz
      @TimothySchultz  4 года назад +1

      That's interesting. Why are people against them in Japan? Is it for similar reasons as in the USA? Your plan sounds wise if you win 4 million! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

      Timothy Schultz Gambling is officially illegal in Japan but still you can gamble with horse race national lottery or something called pachinko . It has a bad image and is linked to organized crime they feel casinos might attract gamble addicts and create problems. I have two children I feel that if I invest poorly I would still have life changing money that way 🙂

    So call friends that constantly wants your money I'm not your friends, they are what we call Friendly acquaintances at least most of the time but not always. I believe in that Irish proverb no matter who you are or where you come from you only make one or two or maybe three true friends in your entire lifetime, unfortunately we are too quick to throw around that word friend when really we should just say friendly acquaintances.

    Great interview, what a nice man.
    The one thing I learned from this interview is diving deeper in the word NO. I want to help ppl out..but on my terms. Don't want people from the past hitting me up. So obvious btw😅
    Your going from a 'nobody' to a somebody they once knew.
    NO. I'm already learning to say no.
    Another thing is that I would like is to stay anonymous..

  • @darkhorse7460
    @darkhorse7460 4 года назад +3

    See, Tim I was going to say I think the high millions is where you get the "woodwork requests", winners under that don't seem to experience that much, understandably, and yes, that's very level headed to deny requests you can't possibly help everyone, I think it's bold for people(other than your advisor) to be assuming what you should do with your money. It's not about the amount if you like charity-donate yourself don't tell other people how to spend there winnings because frankly it's none of your business and they don't owe you.

    I had a vision I won a lot more but if I won 4.8 million. I’d sign it in my LLCs name, stay anonymous, tithe and offer 10%, get a financial advisor, tax lawyer, cpa, invest in some things I’ve been wanting to get shares in, my first major purchase would be multifamily unit, I’d travel for a year with my dogs while working on my business goals and ideas, find a wife, start having kids, go back to school to get my masters and doctorates. Get into ministry.

    Every single person with a lot of money always says money doesn't buy you happiness. I would like the chance to prove you wrong.

  • @jameswoytasik6070
    @jameswoytasik6070 2 года назад

    The way I define happiness is when there's something I really want and it's pretty expensive. Working hard and saving that money makes that item worth a lot more then just being able to buy it outright with my lottery wins.

    • @melodyebiz2501
      @melodyebiz2501 Год назад

      Yeah ok you can make your money multiply if you learn about finances because working is noble but your never paid what your worth so it would take you very long time especially if it’s really expensive so winning helps you leap to what really would took you very long time or too old to enjoy no guilt if I win enjoy am not feeling guilty if I do it was meant to be.

    He says he was offered an annuity or a reduced lump sum. I wonder how this works legally. Because it’s understandable when you play the lottery you agree to the terms and conditions which sometimes are on the back of the ticket or can be found on the lottery website. But in a casino when you walk in and play for the jackpot surely you’re expecting the full amount in a lump sum when you hit the jackpot because there is no terms and conditions you agree to when you put your money in the slot machine. So in my opinion he should have been offered the full amount as a lump sum. Anyway enough of my nitpicking haha. Great videos Tim, I hope to see more of them.

    • @TimothySchultz
      @TimothySchultz  3 года назад

      Thanks for your comment and support! That is a good point; when you play a slot machine, you likely expect the full jackpot amount. I have not won a major slot win, but I expect that before they give you anything, they require you to agree to terms and conditions in a contractual agreement. Whether there is any room to legally demand the full amount, I doubt. However, it's definitely a question worth looking into if you win!

  • @silverstar4289
    @silverstar4289 Год назад

    Okay- chose lump sum instead of annuity. Takes a fraction of what he could have received and set up an annuity for a secure retirement. Makes no sense to me.

  • @earlford4100
    @earlford4100 2 года назад

    Well I guess you mean what would I do with 1.7 million because that's what he said he received after taxes. I would invest for 1 million of it preferable 500,000 in index funds, and the other five hundred thousand in individual stocks which I do have some knowledge of. Ambien 64 years of age I would enjoy the other $700,000 with three other people plus my mom and those other three being Me Myself and I.

  • @redherringbone
    @redherringbone 3 года назад +1

    Well, after taxes, he only got 1.7M. Living in Southern Maryland myself, he's right that winning that amount doesn't change your life very much around here. All he got was the possibility to pay his house off and die debt free.
