@@UTKP5 fill the rest of the deck with 1500+ attack monsters, if they dont draw slate warrior they wont play it. you can still level against if they play slate warrior it just wont be as fast

LoL I don't even have this game anymore! I used to own it and be obsessed with it about 8 years ago when I was 25 or 26. I ended up selling my PS2 collection including this game. I just have one huge regret and it's that I was never able to figure out how to rank up my favorite monsters. Here I am 8 years layer and I started talking about the game with my cousin that used to play it with me and even owned it himself at one point. I just needed to go back and look up how it was done cause it infuriated me! I grinded so much trying to kill all my opponents cards and everything! Little did I know that you actually had to do the killing with the monster you wanted to rank up! I thought you would gain XP by having that card as your leader and just by winning and killing other monsters with whatever cards you wanted! It's no wonder why my leader wasn't leveling up! I wasn't even using it in battle to do the fighting! Well - at least I can be at peace now knowing how clueless I was and how I wasted my time grinding for nothing! That's the one last thing I wanted to do with that game and never figured it out til now! What a shame! 😂
There is another ranking method not mentioned which involves enclosing an enemy deck leader with 0 atk cards and atacking it, you get 72~80 (96~100 with 4 attackers) XP per turn, 20 per attacker + 4 per card face up, its downsides are: the attacking animations, the difficulty of the setup. I haven't tested it throughly, but i believe it is at least faster than the old method.
Moral of the story is, it’s not worth it to grind for rank or to get all the cards to enjoy the full extend of the content in this game. GET A CODE BREAKER

Im doing Serpentine Princess and its taking a while, but havent cleared the game so have to trap them in the corner and lock them with the only one card on the field. It works but take a while to get there and can be cumbersome. Thanks for the tips. Wouldnt be here now if it wasnt for you
I did the Kageningen leveling, and it is incredible. I was literally watching youtube videos while doing this, took me like 2 days of casual play (i do not work so i have lots of time). I had 1 summon skull before this, after getting the 5 in a row a few times, i am now the proud owner of 4, yes 4, summon skulls. This is just a sick method, no trying to get 3 in a row in battles with yugi or something, no chance, just pure rewards. Also, got 4 lord of D's using that strategy. I will say i would recommend getting a gameshark, trust me, you do not want to put in that kind of time lmao, it sucks, but i am one of those folks who is not a wealthy man XD. It is incredible to think i would have 4 SS's, lord of D's, and even got a another brain control, happy perk there lol. Thanks so much man, love it.

Ever since i started playing years and years ago i made it a point to level up weak cards to have a high rank as deck leader. My crowning achievement is key mace #1 at major level. She's getting there XD
Oh I wish I could have properly been able to extract how it all works, because then I would have been able to figure out exactly what the multiplier was for defeating monsters. I used cheat engine and kept an eye on the exp level of the card, and the multiplier would vary between 2x, 3x, and 4x. The theory was effect monsters, but I couldn't be bothered to entirely figure it out, because as your video here says, the fastest way is to use a cheat device, and the second fastest way is to end turn repeatedly. Luckily I was able to figure out how to make codes out of this research, because at the time there were no such codes! Edit: I didn't make the code for getting all cards to SD rank, of course, I merely made a few codes for a handful of cards for my own use and told others how they could do the same.
I'm trying a new strategy: I put mirror wall into my deck, three copies of the monster to promote, and a lot of useless cards. Once destroyed the opponent monsters on custom duel, I attack the deck leader with my monsters'ATK cut to very low level thanks to mirror wall. At least 50 XP every turn

I only have “1” monster that I grinded to SD and that’s Airknight Parshath (have amazing fairy deck). It took me forever! I’m now doing Blue Eyes only bc of the dragon summoning cost -2. All this and no one to play against is why i never grinded that much in this game.
I still just enjoy grinding a bunch. The euphoric feeling of completing a monster just because I can, and could never figure it out as a kid, feels great. Before I did find him with all his help and stuff, I only had 4 sd monsters from playing the game over and over
I tried Underlordtico's proposed method, but god as you said, it was eternal, and doesn't work for leveling weak monsters specially unfusionable weak monsters, and your method is so fast
When you are tied for life points at the end of the duel of passing, is it a draw or do you win? How do you compensate for that problem? Maybe throw in a few burn cards to use knowing your opponent won't play them?
First of all, if you "draw" against the AI, you just lose. Secondly, you shouldnt have to worry about that because you can just beat an opponent within the first few turns of the duel

I know your method here is the fastest but sometimes I just like the satisfaction of destroying other cards lol. Knowing that with Aqua Dragon and Curse of Dragon they might get more points that normal for an effect triggering would make me feel better when I deviate from this method lol. Thanks again!

@@Wave_MC2269 I prefer having a deck leader be a card that you don't want to actually use in the deck, because at SD rank you have no EXP buffer for demotion. If you managed to lose enough copies of your leader during a duel, you could end up losing more than the EXP gain on win and end up demoting. If you don't play your leader as cards in your deck, you'd only demote if you lose a duel, which can be made up for with just a single win.
If you dont alter your life points, you lose the duel, but if your deck leader is a monster other than the card you rank up, it doesnt matter and you wont lose xp on the monsters that arent your deck leader.
They also have tons of ways to increase their attack power: Mystical Elf (which can be fused without using any non-fairies), silver bow and arrow, bright castle, their leader ability, and winged trumpeter to boost all your fairies. Quite honestly, it really doesn't matter that none of them even have more than 1900 attack points before you start taking into account literally any of this.
Here before someone proves killing 21,845 Dancing Elves is the fastest strategy to rank up to SD.
