I have already destroyed so many inclusions in my life that it simply has to be considered an occupational hazard. These surface inclusions are very difficult to do. Don't worry - the most important thing is that it was not some mega rarity. I once smashed an Embioptera Webspinner in Baltic amber. Sometimes all it takes is one touch too much to the polishing wheel and it makes a crater in the inclusion. Anyways, cool video ! And thank you for mention me. Cheers from the cave of amber & PAKAKS !
@@Amberscape No problemo amigo, that's just the way it is. Those who have never sanded don't know what it's like. There are times when it's easy, and sometimes nothing can be done, such as this chipping on the other side of the ant. And the crater on the abdomen is just bad luck. Sh*t happens.
This is baltic amber - 36-50~ milion years old - unfortunatly dinos were already extinct during the eocene, but theres burmite amber which is twice as old - and then dinos were alive and we can find dino feathers in burmite😁
Still a great specimen. Don't be so hard on yourself. It happens..and will happen again. Curse the cracks! lol . Great video. Stay safe..stay cool. Crazy hot here in New Jersey USA.
very nice job anyway. And i made the same misstake just like 2 weeks ago. Found a small spider and it was already pretty close to the surface. And i made a hole where his back body is. Also just like 1,5 weeks ago i found my first ant aswell in amber. Looks very similar to yours. So been quite lucky for being of season now
Always delightful to see a new video from you ! Love the microscopic view of the ant too . Its still in pretty good shape. Enjoyed muchley !!! 😊
Too bad not in perfect shape 🫠😁

@@Amberscape That no matter how careful one is...things can f*ck up.😁
That is so awesome! To think that was an insect that was around when there were dinosaurs roaming the earth! Cool video! Thanks for sharing!

Still a good result in the preparation Jarek, considering the cracks in the Amber ,not the end of the world 👍
Well it hurts still i catched the ant myself from the see🫣
Didn't think you could save the ant ... wait...it didn't survive before 🤔.
Great job
Saving the dead body of an ant:D
@Amberscape fortunately it's not that noticeable except under magnification.
Wondering if it would wear out easily being exposed
*New amberscape video is uploaded
*Grabs a beer
