  • Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #460
    Date of Adventure: 8/13/20
I wanted to camp out somewhere where I could be TOTALLY ALONE, so I decided to check out a very remote hot spring in a desolate valley in the middle of nowhere, Nevada. It was a long, dusty, muddy drive...but ended up being totally worth it!! This place was freakin' awesome!

Most people only see Nevada from the freeway or a window from the room in the casino. The stars at night in the middle of Nevada are something everyone needs to see.

The beautiful juxtaposition of desert and this Vegas Lady is pretty cool. She must be a Robert Frost fan because she uses the most beautifully assembled vocabulary of stream of consciousness, imagery, metaphors, similes, allusions, alliterations, assonance, idioms of all kinds and personifications. Her knowledge of industrial vernacular terminology in so many trades is very impressive. She even knows about Neal Pert from Rush. Who else can say this? Why isn’t she like Governor? She puts Dirty Harry Reid to shame. I am an English teacher and I enjoy her editorials very much. I live in Naples Florida but am have ranches in the grass valley Winnemucca area. Sarah, I hope one day you can show me around. I would hire you in a heartbeat.

A laser thermometer is not good for measuring water temperature, it works by laser hitting the object to be measured, then measures the reflected light, since water is clear, what you are measuring is the temp of the bottom surface of the pool. They are also calibrated to the color black, take a block of steel, paint half silver and half black, the laser will show a slight difference in temp based on color.

If you were looking south then that would be Jupiter. As the sky gets darker the one next to it (left side) is Saturn. Later in the night the south-eastern red one is Mars. Perhaps get yourself a decent telescope, you seem smart enough to learn some basic astronomy and think I think you would dig it. Thanks for the great videos.

To get rid of the water ! You need a a rubber hose and you put one end in the pool and suck the other end to get it started ! You can close it from the top by taking the end you have sucked from and bending it it with your hand , putting the water where ever you think it would be safe to do so - pretty much the same way as you would suck gasoline from your tank if need be !

@Shaun Sim Bacteria, toxins, algae, so not a good idea. Sealed package is fine but not a net bag. Net bag to hold the sealed packages would help but natural hot springs are not for internal consumption. Any water out west should be suspect for arsenic for example. Volcanic water can have acids, strong bases, sulfur, etc so best to not eat or drink from there without testing first. Now as long as Sarah wiped down those packages before opening and putting in a bowl like she does, that is fine.
