I moved to Palm Bay Florida from Huntsville Al, where the local meteorologists can track tornadoes down to the time/street. Until recently, I watched the Orlando area stations for weather updates. I emailed each with suggestions of simple things they could do that would greatly help not only the residents, but the millions of tourist who may be here during a weather emergency. I wasted my time. Having survived 5 tornadoes before moving, everyone in my household considers the local meteorologists are the most important people of every news station. They literally save thousands if not millions of lives durning weather emergencies. At least in North Alabama they do. Now, my reason for sharing all of that. I realize that Palm Bay is not in your coverage area nor on your maps, but I started coming here for weather information because I feel confident and safe afterwards. For that I want to thank each of you from the lead meteorologist to those operating the cameras for providing your viewers the information they need to be safe. Thank you
Channel 5 you do a great job of hurricane forecast. Ian and now Nicole wow Florida is getting hit. As I now live in the Philippines but I am originally from Boynton Beach I just pray for the safety of my birth city and county.
I’m here in Vero Beach, listening to the big wind gusts and the rain beating against the windows - sounds like it’s raining sideways. Too bad it’s not raining men!😂
That is why we moved 900 miles due west, we are high and dry! I MISS THE BEACH OF SURF CITY, I used to live in Holy Ridge, N.C got sick of all of it too, to mych water for me. Take care!
I talk to people from across the US for my job and ive talked to several Floridians that deny this hurricane ever happened, despite our locations in that area suspending business for customers in that area since last Wednesday for safety reasons.
There is no evidence of a surface level windfield that has sustained hurricane force winds. I'm watching the Freeport anemometers and its sustained winds are 40-45mph, gusts not exceeding the mid-50s. Dry air to the south and stable air (at lower levels to the north, due to inversion) prevented this subtropical storm from organizing and strengthening. It's really a stretch, at this point, to call it a Category 1. The dropsonder data from Hurricane Hunter AF306 Mission #13 was 64 kt (73.6 mph) @ 608 m (~2000ft) and just 51 kt (58.7 mph) @ the surface. Coastal storm surge north of landfall is the greatest risk with Nicole.
Question for you - What time is the impact for the eye? High tides for Ft Pierce Inlet shown on this video is 830pm and 907 am. I think landfall was around 3am? That means low tide would be around 300am. That means beach erosion will be minimized because landfall will be at low tide. Is this right?
Correct. Not a hurricane by definition two years ago. A hurricane as of the new testing elevation and definition …. Makes one think … I assume another mini Tsunami wave in play. …
Yeah and we travel Rje Damea Point Bridge. One of the highest bridges 😂 It should be fun. I was white knuckled going over it this morning and afternoon. I always stay around 80 to 85 mph. Not today tho
Isaiah 28 verse 2 reads" Behold, the Lord hath mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand." All praise and glory to the Most High God and King of the children of Israel, Blacks, Latinos and Native of Indian and Negroid descent, bringing judgment and destruction here to the land of our CAPTIVITY and throughout the earth. REAP what you SOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where was that with my people still being oppressed here in this demonic land, stop the madness, all will pay for what they done to the children of Israel!!!!!
Why do hurricanes always avoid broward and dade county ??? Always putting us in the cone but missing us last minute, making people waste their money on unnecessary supplies.
People panic by fear, there is no reason to panic, we can't control nature. People fear death, but nobody will die before their day. Most things come from the new are for keep people on the tv. So woke up, hurricane only caught sleep people. It respect the one that is awake.
The same is basically true for Jacksonville/Duval county. Someone in the Coast Guard told me it was due to bends in the coastline determining how the water pulled storms in. It was more complicated than that, but it's what I remember.
