what broker do you use on Apex? how do you market execute and then trail a SL?
Patrick I'm in south Africa we cnt trade futures only in the US use can trade futures what should people like us do which are outside the US we can only trade CFDs which are basically also forex
Technically I think one can still apply the knowledge about forex to future trade, future trade is gradually benefiting more 💯. properly trading the indices well and also evaluating the risk with proper management can be superbly fine.
It is true about evaluating the risk ,but don't also forget the calculations that have to do with the indices at exactly when to invest or exit or even use the strategy to trade the future.personally I think forex is still a good deal
@@user-vn7id3nt7b I think it all depends on an individual's ability to understand the market and the right analysis.sometimes a method of a particular broker may differ yet still give maximum results the basic thing here is to avoid losing while trying to make gains
No doubt the main thing here is just to understand the way forward I have actually been successfully trading both.after much thought i had to split though I was able to pull through it with the help of a broker
Avoiding risk and understanding the strategy is very important,it is the duty of the broker to carefully analyze the methods and how they work maybe also choose the right step to maximizing the profits search on Bianca Harley Doran in one of her articles she has explained both strategies and how they work possibly ask her questions too.
Many traders have made mistakes like that actually,by mistake using the wrong approach for a particular trade or investment 💯,some do that on purpose just to give it a try..have you actually reasoned the risk and the losses.
The best thing is to contact someone who can guide and explain more for a proper understanding..

Futures is 100x better than Forex. Forex moves so slow. Even Forex traders prefer to trade the indices

Depends where you live. In my country if I trade Forex it's tax free hotshot. 😉 😂 Futures traders what a joke plus where's the cross pairs if I want to trade them on futures? Also I don't have to pay platform fees and spread is pretty low. I also get paid swaps just for holding a trade overnight which lowers the spread.
@@adrian3373 brokers can manipulate the speed of their server and even need to use vps to propel the speed yet modified speed
i personally trade forex during the london session since it moves clean then NY session on nasdaq
Appreciate the video Patrick. Earnestly seeking to evolve from stock trading as a newbie to Futures and/or FOREX. I had already ruled out Options and was less interested in crypto. I was leaning towards Futures although FOREX interested me as well. Once I am comfortable with Futures, select asset and a strat I was definitely seeking to try and prop firm challenge.

One negative thing with futures are if you want to have a good risk vs reward, you need to have an altlest 2000 or more to get it good with micro e mini contracts. So under 2000 you risk too much.
Thats why I still are in the forex.

My biggest question is how possible is it to make big payouts like those with forex? 10, 20, 30k payouts and/or withdrawals. I'm not saying its common but im just wondering if its possible with futures? I only ever see people making a few hundred, a few thousand rarely. Everything else about futures seems cool and I'm debating on if i should switch from forex

I am a gold trader and it was the only reason why I traded FOREX. But once I found out you could trade gold with futures and it's open 24/5 just like the FX market i switched over and never went back.

I've yet to get started on being evaluated. I have all my charts and technical analysis/strategies setup. Futures seem to trade at a snails pace. Low volume compared to forex.
I now started to trade futures from forex the only thing is the symbols are so weird and confusing 6d 6c zw I constantly have to be checking up on what I am trading I kind of like it
Forex - counter party is your broker, in futures country part is the clearing house and less manipulations

I agree, I used to trade options with a small account and it was a headache. Now I trade futures with prop firms and enjoy it much more, I believe there's also tax advantages with futures as well.

I like trading an assortment of assets, as far as forex I pretty much only trade EUR/USD since the spreads are low , it moves a lot and I watch the DXY for all my TA. But I do agree with a lot of what you're saying, especially starting a trade in the negative.

Im slowly moving over to futures from forex... the biggest hurdle for me is the prop firm drawdown rules with Futures.. Like wtf is with Apex and that trailing DD rule.. But I do like the cheap evaluations and the zero spreads.

Your pumping Futures which is ok, but you don't explain the negatives such as trading on the globex electric trading platform outside the the NY session, what Globex is and the lack of, or reduced liquidity outside of the live NY session

You didn't mention that FOREX prices can be - and usually are - manipulated by the BIG BANKS. Ever wonder why your stoploss is often triggered just before price moves as you expected?
Preference is for futures. I like em.
Spread is still there in futures. Futures is great but has its issues as well. The good you don't. mention is, depending on brokers you can set up alot of safety functions. And bty you can lose more than you have...it can happen so fast...its where the big boys play. Stick to the mini's and be happy with that amounts.

how do you ensure you're risking the same amount everytime? thats the only issue I have with futures so far. there's no tool that will calculate ho many contracts based on the size of the stop and the % im looking to risk in my account

He is 💯 correct. With the US government going after the unregulated market, futures are the way to go. You don't have to worry about the broker getting shutdown or removed from mt4 plus your money is safe. No stress. Just focus on trading.
