I remember when the 90's ended seeing Vex Da Vortex of BoogieMonsters on this Christian network where all kinds of underground groups would freestyle on an "Open mic" session. I forgot the name of it, but all of us used to peep it when it came on. So seeing this I'm not surprised, cause I always wondered why you all stopped making hip hop. BoogieMonsters still one of my favorite groups ever, madd respect.
I bought some records and tapes from big Ben's records in Lakewood Cali..back late 80s early 90s. I bought over 40$ worth of music..they told me I could get a free maxi single cause of how much I spent..just bought most of the new joints at the time..only thing I didn't recognize was this boogie monsters tape..it was (recognize thresholds of negative stress)..never heard the song or of this group..i said let me get that...took it home..put it on. .soon as they started spitting I was hooked..never heard that style before..it was dope fo sho...now 40 years later. I'm realizing they were spitting about everything thats going on now in the industry..way back then....I'll put their music up against anything on the radio now..and I guarantee they will blow them out the water..dope then. Dope now..they were ahead of their time..now I understand why we didn't hear them on the radio..truth scares the big wigs. To much honesty doesn't sell records.. a line from a song I wrote.. called. Tired......"as long the money is steady inclined.they' ll never have an ear for the cocience rhyme'. Boogie monsters may not deal with hip hop anymore. But what you guys did made a lasting impression on me. Far as I'm concerned your hip hop legends. ..much respect due peace!
I thank God for using pastor Ivor as a testimony and for taking he and his friends out of the hands of the ennemie. I just pray that god will guide and protect you pastor Ivor. I would just give you one advise try your best to stay humble just like the king David, don't let people idolate you make them remember that your just a man a servant of God, for all the glory to go to God. I believe that you will understand what i mean. God bless your ministrie in Jesus name. :)

To those complaining they became Christian. Why you're so surprised? Weren't you listening to their lyrics? Here's one for you from their first album in 1994: "Voyage into Revelations 13 for a story. Must unite and do what's right. Don't receive the mark." And the catchy refrain: "The mark of the beast. (2x) Never ever ever take the mark of the beast." The second album in 1997 was called "God Sound" and didn't contain one swear word. You weren't complaining back then when you were listening to their music, though it always rested heavily on biblical themes? Come on, open your minds.
The bible and also other religious texts have much timeless wisdom, so dont be quick to dismiss them if you are interested in your own spirituality. The ascetic way of life many religious people lead are not my cup of tea, because i love a glass of gin and tonic, but still, people like these have much to teach if you listen

As a SDA and "Hip-Hop Purist", I don't necessary agree with the stance that Ivor or other "SDA's" have on "music" especially Hip-Hop but I do respect what God has done in his life. 👍

The thing is though (in my humble observation), that’s yet another thing that made the Boogiemonsters stand out. Their lyrics were heavily rooted in Christianity and, beyond that, Christ consciousness.

Be good love your family and that's all you need. You should not be worried about the eternal cause you always have eternity to worry about that. He's stated before that he doesn't care for hip hop and is very happy with his decision. He's been married for over 22 years with four children. He and his wife work together in ministry. Their ministry has been a blessing to millions of people around the world. Who knows what his life would have been if he stayed in the entertainment industry. Look at how many rappers have died or are living promiscuous lifestyles. Look at Kanye West and his mental breakdown. You don't have to agree with his decision but please respect it.
