I recently went down fro m34T oval down to 32T oval and still run 11-46T Sun Race cassette, and with the smaller chainring I don't drop the chain when back pedalling. the next thing I want to try is latest generation of Box One, first gen was weak and flawed, but new should be stronger, and has features I love, like easier to clean the jockey wheels than on Shimano, because of better accessibility, you can take it completely apart and swap bushings, so can run it for decades I guess. Also I want to try Archer D1X trail electronic shifting, because trigger shifters are fatiguing and I haven't seen any that I think would fit me, Sram & Shimano Sure don't fit me. I use 34mm RevGrips I hit & rub the thumb a on the grip and lock on clamp. Also I have issues with thumb misaligning when shifting sometimes which can make it painful to shift, so lighter shifting is something I need. the new Shimano shifters won't fit me well I think, but I think Archer D1X will work better for me.
Hey single track magazine! Why does the presenter say "chainset" when he is holding a crankset? I have been riding MTB for 34 years and have never heard anyone call a crankset a "chainset" Ride ride ride!
Because that’s what it’s called. Check out this bargain www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/shimano-zee-m640-10-speed-chainset/rp-prod82416. Maybe this will clear it up for you. We’re British don’t you know! :-) en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crankset. Wait til you hear how we pronounce aluminium.
XTR launch was a Fail, panic release XT and SLX at the same time, SRAM is far ahead at this point. Shimano only licensed the hub to like 2 or 3 companies. I almost bought this groupset; I got tired of my dealer telling me the next couple months, that went on for almost a year, finally just got XX1 Eagle and not going back.

Still no oval chainrings. which is a must for me, to not abuse my knees.
Been looking for the xtr grougset since it was first shown. A year on no one is selling it.
Waves the crankset over the scale without actually weighing it....
In 2 years we'll probably see 1x60
