I was born and raised in Derby in the late 50’s, in fact the video shows my childhood home near Nightingale Rd. I have lived in Canada since 1980 and have a home in rural Ontario. Such different places.
I can imagine they are very difference places. Glad this video brought back some memories. I have a friend who lives on Nightingale Road, know it well.
I left Derby in 1968 for Canada. I am surprised that the kaftan and shalwar kameez are so predominant in parts of the town. Something that was not there when I lived in the city. Times do change. I did recognize Normanton and Burton roads, and it was a nice drive. Pity there was no explanation as to where we were going. Thanks for sharing.
It really is amazing how much places change, even in a short time. That's half the motivation to do these videos as we've always enjoyed looking back at places years later. Thank you for watching!
We hope you enjoy this video. Please let us know what journeys you would like us to do in this format!

Glad it brought back some memories... good ones we hope 😂 Thank you for watching!
My home town - I knew every inch of that drive, but it's changed so much since I lived there. At least Normo Road is just as vibrant.
