I discovered this album yesterday and I was immediately put off by it but I noticed a very weird style to it that Is on display on every song through the album. Hard to explain but it's one of the reasons I love this album more so than my first listen. It's a grower for sure.
One of my favorite albums ever. I always viewed the "red wire, right temple, black wire, left temple" as putting jumper cables to your head to wipe memories.
This album has done so much for me over the past decade or so. Will always be one of my favs! The drumming and bass playing are absolutely unreal. Certain lyrics will pop into my head from time to time that sincerely help me carry on. Their two prior albums are also fantastic and i'd suggest anyone who likes the more wild moments of this record to check them out. 10/10 for me
i listen to a lot of death metal so it was really cute when brad said his girlfriend thought a name i find as quaint and inoffensive as "the Dismemberment Plan" was edgy garbage to her lmfao wonder what she thinks of bands like Infant Annihilator, Cattle Decapitation, Dying Fetus, Amputated Genitals, Anal Stabwound, Gutted With Broken Glass, etc lol
the people comparing them to guided by voices and pavement make me happy tho edit: still haven't watched the whole thing but it's so funny to watch chat "weezer but good" was pretty common and like...yeah i love the first 2 weezer albums but you are SO RIGHT
yeah watching this and the gorguts scream has put me off actually ever joining in brads streams. everyone wants to be a comedian and also give their dogshit brainless takes
Dismemberment Plan being compared to Jordan Peterson makes me want to throw up tbh. And your guest doesn't know what "poisoning the well" means..... I honestly just threw up in my mouth. The rest of his analysis is more or less on point. But fuck, please disabuse that kid from the slimy likes of Jordan Peterson.
1:03:22 Failure mention?? their album fantastic planet is underrated asf and their best album imo literally no skips, even the segues they have just provide so much atmosphere i fucking love it Magnified, which released before it, is also worth listening I listened to their new album "Wild Type Droid" and i fucking hate it In the Future Your Body Will be the Furthest Thing From Your Mind is eh Havent listened to The Heart is a Monster Havent listened to enough of Comfort to have a solid opinion but its prob better than their new stuff but below fantastic planet and magnified

Pretty spot on there it seems!
Never heard it before, but I absolutely loved it
Update: now on my top 3 of all time.
"you are invited" is one of the best songs ever created.
Seeing it in concert changes the relationship one has with the song
sometimes you know youre gonna love an album based on the cover art and this is no exception.
This record rules so hard I’m so glad someone requested it

Travis Morrison is so important to DC music I hate the audience of all these music people they just don’t get it
Will sleep to this always loved emergency & I
I'm starting to think most of Brad's fanbase have listened to 6 albums and just decided to stop
" Is this *insert popular band here* ? "
the people comparing them to guided by voices and pavement make me happy tho

"post-softcore" is fucking hilarious
jesus christ the chat is annoying
yeah watching this and the gorguts scream has put me off actually ever joining in brads streams. everyone wants to be a comedian and also give their dogshit brainless takes
One of the worst live chats ever lol
Absolutely perfect album I'm glad he came around on it later because he seemed kind of underwhelmed by it in this video
