Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?" Frida Kahlo lost her leg to gangrene in 1953 after suffering for years from complications related to a horrible accident she experienced when she was just 18, but the artist's spirit was greater than any physical body could ever contain.

I wanted to show my high school art classes a good doc on Frida and Casa Azul and this was PERFECT! I even learned things I hadn’t realized when I visited myself! Thanks Alice and Greg!

    Deeply moving and inspiring!
Often I find words ineffective to express the emotions your videos elicit in me.
    Deeply grateful for you. 💜

It is mandatory for me to visit there. Is there a website to explore the museum?

Wonderful, Kahlo's father was a German Jew was he not? I wonder if that part of her heritage had an influence on her?

    • @AliceandGreg

Yes, he was. Certainly that must have affected her worldview as did her relatively privileged upbringing, but she never lost sight of the plight of the indigenous people of Mexico and the struggles of the working class.

Diego ordered that the room not be opened until 50 years after his death. Not 15!

The staff left the bathroom unopened for longer than Diego instructed out of an abundance of caution and respect for family members.
