- Frida Kahlo Museum, known as La Casa Azul (The Blue House) is one of the most visited museums in Mexico. I am not Mexican but when I was young, my mother would always dress up like Frida and have Frida-themed parties with her friends. I always wondered who this person was and why the world imitates her extremely strange outfits and flowers around their head. Where I am from (the Philippines), this is a very popular Halloween costume. Even though people have no idea who Frida was, her portrait is famous in my country - an image of love, art, fear, suffering, and the joy of being alive.

As a disabled person that lives with chronic pain, I really have such great respect for her and her work. Thanks so much for sharing. I paint and even have a rose headband and clothing that I wear to help me find her courage and inspiration. 🌹🌹🌹

I went to the movies to see Frida. My Art teacher made it an extra credit assignment.
If you saw "Frida", you got a pretty accurate description of her life .
Those special effects used to show how she created her paintings are awesome.
She was a great painter and a great person .
The documentary about Frida is just as good. It goes into more details and events that happened during Frida's life. The documentary also available to watch here on RUclips.

Nice video. I visited Frida's house for a second time 50 years ago. Tickets were a few pesos and the crowds consisted of 10-20 people at any given time. I wish I had seen the recent discoveries you mentioned, but I did notice a copy of the monumental " Catalogo de Construcciones Religiosos del Estado de Hidalgo" on her book shelves. The two volume work listed about 800 churches recorded in the state of Hidalgo around 1930. Mexico's churches have a strong appeal for me but one of the strongest "spiritual" experiences I had was in Frida's house.

It was a great video, however you plugged in Salma Hayak and Alfred Molina as Frida and Diego which takes away the authenticity of your whole mission.

I liked it, but as a teacher cannot show it to my students because of the sexual parts. I wish those parts would have been held back.
How old are your students? I am considering taking my 9 yr old granddaughter to the exhibit at the DeYoung Museum here in S.F.
