Hi Dan, awesome stuff. I'm new to this art (haven't done this for 50 years), what do you do with all of these projects once completed? Due to the size and real estate of your hobby room, storage constraints must be horrible between finished projects, projects in the works and new kits still in the box not to mention the work area required. kenpoist7 Hi Ken, my builds are in display cases and really do not take up too much space. New kit are all stored on shelves in my build room, I currently have approximately 100 unopened kits that take up approximately 5 shelves. I always only have one project on my bench at any given time. Welcome back to the hobby.
This is awesome! One question: how do you make the color of the seat look old? I love this weathering method and plan to use it but still not sure about color.
Hi Don, once i apply the color that I want the seat to be I will then apply Tamiya black or brown panel liner and this will stain the paint and make it look weathered, I will also use thinned Tamiya flat black as a wash after I clear coat the paint and panel liners. I would suggest just practicing on some scrap until you get the results you are looking for. Good luck and have fun 😆

Hey man thanks for the helpful tips. I do have a request. Can you do a tutorial on how to get the exposed foam look on the sides of the seats? Maybe an exposed seat frame?
Just use the same process on the underside of the seat and paint it a flat yellow/brown. Or you could just use colored tissue paper as well. Let know how it turns out

I find makeup sponges work good for seat foam poking through holes. Just stain them with watered down paint and it looks just like the seat foam...

I been doing it wrong for years. Always used. Regular tp. But the stuff rips really easey. Going to deffently try this next time. Thanks for sharing.
