The Uniform training ( Left Right Center etc movement) is not a Warm up but it's like a Shadow Training for the Movement earlier in the Demo when the Instruction is swinging the sword at the Guy and the Guy Evades all the Attackes
Yap that's real bolo,we called it ginunting...thank you that appreciate our martials, the Filipino marital arts....pugay
That blade It was called a ginunting right
The training at 5:30 is to allow the fighter to avoid the enemy strikes and to be ready to counter-attack when in the right position.
Notice the concept of "defanging the snake" or hitting/damaging the opponent's hands and arms so that they can no longer attack you.
Some hollywood movies used some kali martial arts like the accountant and bourne ultimatum and many more.
Kali has plenty of form of name,
1 Doceparis =empty hand with knife and bolo
2 iskrima = 1 or 2 bolo
3 balintawak = stick short and long.
4 panuntokan = hand to hand punching disarm your emeny and luck.
5 hubad= to remove and escape from the form of enemy He using against you,...
this is the NAME OF ART YOU MUST BE COMPLETE so that you will be called KALI....
Also Dumog, it is Filipino Wrestling.
Yes, it's a Melee weapons Called Kampilans, Bolos, and Ginunting, etc.
I believe that's a live blade.
Kali and okinawan karate has said to have been linked, as okinawa’s karate is more like a combination of sourhern china, and south east asian martial arts... i studied both... it does share a lot of moves and some similarity in some kata’s
Kali, the thinking man’s martial art. Very deadly.
Pekiti Tirsia Kali(PTK) is the name of the Martial Art used by the Philippine Marines.
No!!!... You are a Big Lier!
I went to Philippines to learned this FMA the very practical and realistic Martial Arts. That's why USA choose it for close in and hand to hand combat.
Philippines had there own Martial Art's tested in WWII and insurgency and jungle warfare it's call "FMA" Filipino Martial Art's (Kali, Eskrima and Armis). But only FMA-Armis allowed to teach to schools and civilians for there own self-defense and for international competition.
Because the (Kali and Eskrima) main objective is to brake the joint blind the opponent and kill immediately. In hand to hand combat, knife's sword's and also using stick. If you know this its so very brutal way to kill
And I really like the Balisong and Ginunting the double blade sword. The chosen weapon of Philippines RECON Marine
And if that was true why USA didn't go to your country to learned it in your own way?
@@user-sz7qb3rt8d He's actually telling the truth, there are many schools in FMA, the philippine military uses the Pekiti Tirsia school of FMA. It is just the name of the style.
examples are Pekiti Tirsia, doce pares, balintawak, etc.
to make it easier to understand it's like karate. There is Shotokan, Goju-ryu, Uechi-ryu, Wado-ryu, Shorin-ryu, Kyokushin, Shito-ryu, Ashihara, etc. They are all karate but different schools.
Anyway, not sure what school you learnt from but you have a great day brother.
@@severedproxy actually I'm one of the participants in Balikatan exercise of USA and the Philippines way back 2014 to 2016. I Learned and trained directly to Philippines Marines and Philippines scout ranger.
@@user-sz7qb3rt8d That's good to hear, thank you for your service. What school of FMA were you taught during balikatan? IIRC starting 2018 they were using Pekiti from what I've heard from my instructor.
The movement is a kali. That is being used by our ancestors during the war. It is being used by our Military and Police in their training.
The long blade resembles a golok.
The phillipinos' I was stationed with, practiced Escrima/Kali. They would "play", using real blades. It was intimidating, to say the least.
Thank you for this contents.from Philippines
US Army had low experience on jungle warfare that Ph good at. Back on Vietnam War. On this joint military exercises they where trained, how to survive on the jungle without food supplies. How to get food and more.
I'm always watching your reaction video bro 😁😁
Happy New Year Shin Smith🎇🎊🎉
God bless you always and forever🙏🙏
The movements are Kali, dodging is the way to get out of the swinging blade, they also use ratan sticks
Just like aikido, Stepping and positioning is a very important part of a training. Lateral movement even in boxing is a must in training.
HUAN ! TO , TRE , 😮 ! BISAYA COUNTING 😅 I LIKE IT A LOT 😅
That's part of calli its calked peketi cali
During World War 2, a Filipino joined the US 2nd Marine Raider and was designated as an instructor in knife fighting.
It's Kali
Yes that is Kali. You saw the footwork to avoid attacks.
What year was that video from? I've been to that location in the Philippines and I think that might have been my unit in the video from when I was in the U. S. Military.
Please also react to any of the many videos released by Paul Ingram of the Kali Center. Pick any armed or unarmed technique that interests you and react to it.
Btw what they are using is aluminum replica sword probably somewhere around 1/4 inch thick not sharpened, not capable of inflicting wounds but still painful specially in extreme demonstrations
ang galing ni sir makipag laban sa english lang sya nahirapan. salido kami sau Sir.
1:02 that is usualy a farmers sword this sword doesnot have a tip so it cant be used as any weapon but the philipines made a martial arts out of it known as kali or other names like farmertool style fighting
U.S. MILITARY has learn so much from PHILIPPINES.All in favor for the U.S. MILITARY.
Question has this man reacted to HEMA videos? Curious to see his thoughts and reactions.
That movement are part of kali, sinawali, syete paris it depends on which island of the philippines it is being practice. same movement with the arnis ......
This is a lethal filipino martial arts if you're intention is to kill. But the main purpose actually is to defend that's why lots of guro' ( teachers ) the elder chose the right people whom they teach.
*_I love your reaction videos! This is the second one I’ve watched of yours where you are checking out Filipino Martial Arts! Great Stuff!_*
*_If I may ask, what is the name of the opening intro music you are using in your videos? I really dig it!_*

All kinds of best martial art came from Philippines if you try to research more why it reaches to western country.even famous Bruce Lee lose the match from Philippines.do research
Yeah its kali but i guess its a escrima
it's a toy sword
Japanese ninja doesn't exist lol
They exist it just get misspresentation by pop culture movie. Ninja it's a spy who act like your everyday common people to get information, I mean they can be trained in martial art but using offence is not their priority. Not someone in a black mask and a black suit who jumping around into building and carry sword on their back.
This pilippiinos martial arts is only famous because of hollywood. But in reality no one in the mixed martial arts community uses its so called unarmed technique. Even in the police you will not bring a huge machete like you are in the pre colonial times. Pekang Silat and Muai Thai is more deadly and practical than this whatever martial arts pilippinoss called. I can remember that Chinese MMA guy defeated every kung fu master in China thats why he become a villain in his homeland. If an MMA challenge this pilipinos martial arts master I dont know but for sure pilipinos will very outrage. I want to see MMA masters challenge this Pilipinos martials arts stylish.
Lol, clown. Bring the Chinese MMA guy here and let him fight a Marine Force Recon then. Those practice Filipino Martial Arts. As I've said in another stupid comment of yours, Filipino Martial Arts isn't only for display or exhibitions, it is utilized in combat even today
Kali starts with weapons. The higher the still set the less weapons. The experienced version is one with no weapons. It’s dangerous. The easy moves with sticks is only in the watered down kali for sports and civilians. The real deal is still used by the Philippines military for jungle warfare against rebel/communist forces still out there in the country for decades. To this day they fight using Filipino martial arts and other ones as well if guns are confiscated or they get ambushed. Common people just aren’t aware at the full details due to state security reasons. The US military learn kali in case the soldiers end up having to use hand to hand combat with jungle rebel forces.
Pekang silat is similar to kali and ask why Kali is widely use by military in other nation. Imao
The Okinawan and Ryukyuan styles are probably developed with influences of the South Chinese and Southeast Asian martial arts since they're both trade hubs for merchants and pirates alike. While ethnically and culturally superstrate Japonic, I can imagine the multicultural exposure of the area due to their position on the map and open trade networks throughout history.
Its called Arnis
