    GSP is in my book THE G.O.A.T. however, you forgot to mention one very significant fact. Matt Serra defeated GSP on April 7, 2007, at UFC 69 for the welterweight title via TKO. Was it a fluke? Yes, but it still happened non the less which should disqualify GSP from the list. I mean for a video titled "10 Champions Who Never Lost Their Belts", that is a big oversight.

    You have to remember that when Khabib retired, Charles was still working his way up. He wasn't a title contender until the Tony fight which was a couple of months after Khabib retired. Chandler was around I guess but many people didn't believe he deserved a title shot and Khabib (along with Gaethje, Poirier and others) was one of those people. Tony was still on the table though. He only lost to Gaethje on short notice and after a double weight cut. Surely he would go onto another win streak, right?

    • @scottc2076
      @scottc2076 2 года назад +9

      Wrong. Khabib was still the champ after the Tony fight and was even considering fighting Charles who was the next guy in line. Charles beat Tony in December 2020 and Khabib vacated in March 2021.

      @@scottc2076 khabib was retired. Its Dana who decided not to accept it and kept him as champion. He did say he was gonna watch the next couple of contenders face each other and if they did something spectacular that could excite him he would come back. But Conor got knocked out, he already beat poirier and Conor so they were basically fighting an uphill battle. Charles beat Tony yea but I’m sure khabib didn’t think much of that since Tony was noticeably less than his prime self. Didn’t give a damn about chandler lol since he just came in. So realistically the only guy who was left was Charles cuz as we see chandler is losing, Tony should retire, Dustin was choosing money fights (good on him) Conor needs to win and he already destroyed Justin.

    There's a lot of revisionist history going on here in regards to the Fedor segment.
    Arlovski was the consensus #2 HW on earth when he fought Fedor and was on a 5-fight streak including wins over Ben Rothwell (via KO), Big Country (via KO), and Fabricio Werdum (one of the top 5 HWs of all time).
    Also, Tim Sylvia was ranked #3-5ish at the time of his fight with Fedor, so the narrative that Fedor was cleaning up UFC "scraps" isn't exactly accurate. Not to mention he was scheduled to face Josh Barnett for his 3rd Affliction fight, and Barnett was still a very high level HW at that point in time.
    Also it's worth noting that his loss to Bigfoot Silva was a doctor stoppage and had Fedor been allowed to come out for the 3rd round he very could have won that fight. The Dan Henderson loss speaks for itself and could happen to absolutely anyone. Werdum was, and continued to be for a long time, one of the best HWs on earth so there's no shame in that loss whatsoever.
    I may just be nitpicking here but this kind of narrative may dissuade new fans from learning about Fedor, which means missing out on one of the most important/influential fighters in the history of the sport.
    Anyways thanks for all the fantastic content, keep up the great work! 😀👍

      Unfortunately Henderson's title shots in the UFC was mostly a case of bad luck. His first UFC title shot being against a prime Rampage Jackson, a tougher fight for Hendo than for Rampage. His second being against a prime Anderson Silva who needs no introduction. Had he faced Chuck Liddell for the LHW title and/or Rich Franklin for the MW title there's a good chance we could have won both of those titles.
      He should not have gotten the title shot against Michael Bisping in 2016 anyway, that should have gone to Jacare Souza instead.

      @@akshatjakhar1172 I'm not sure you get how lineal championships work. A lineal championship is only passed on when the previous holder is beaten. As such if the previous holder vacates the title without being beaten then the lineal championship remains with them.

      Those aren't "Lineal". Lineal means you hold the title until the next person beats you. Example, GSP is the Lineal LWH champ. Shamrock < Renzo Gracie < Matt Hughes < GSP < Serra < GSP. GSP retired before he was ever beaten, so he's the lineal LHW title holder.

Many thought he lost the decision to DJ, while TJ at 125 was a drained skeleton of himself, Marlon was good but he's a Brazilian bully who wilts after the 1st round, Cruz was coming off a 4 year layoff to injuries and well past his prime. He's not recognized for that because he wasted his prime, far moreso than Khabib did.

    GSP is the goat in my opinion due to the length of his reign and number of defenses, but Khabib is the most dominant fighter I've ever seen. That dude put a look on his opponent's faces while he was smashing them that you almost never see, like a combination of fear and resigned depression because he was just so much better than they were ready to deal with. If he had stuck around to fight a few more contenders like Charles and Chandler, I'm very confident he would have continued to win, and he'd be in everyone's goat conversation too if he's isn't already.

He did lose the match with Hendricks, but his history of rematches for challengers that beat him was 100%, and Hendricks didn't exactly go on to a stellar run after that fight. Talk of Michael Chandler or Charles Oliveira being a threat to Khabib doesn't add up. In my view, neither of them would have been a real threat, it would have just been more padding for Khabib's record. I genuinely think Justin will rip that belt from Charles's cold dead hands. Tony Ferguson at the time of their originally scheduled fight would have been the only real challenge of Khabib's time, but definitely not in his current state. And talk of GSP, well, who would have been switching weights? If GSP fights and welterweight and middleweight, that means Khabib has to move up to welterweight surely. Khabib is the greatest lightweight of all time and GSP is probably the greatest ever welterweight. So that gives GSP the advantage, but also, for either of them to switch weights doesn't really determine any legacy.
