Randy is not the only one to win a title after he losing it. Cain, Stipe, Sylvia, Figuirendo, TJ, GSP, Hughes and Rose did it too. Randy is the first but not the only one.
She's still building her legacy. Give it a year or two and it'll be concrete. First woman (perhaps fighter) to fill her belt with rubies and most consecutive title defences of any WMMA fighter would be a major accomplishment. Of course in MMA nothing is set in stone.
@@alugificator I can't help but ponder that Valentina was cheated out of having a perfect legacy by way of circumstances. A split decision loss to Amanda Nunes which could have easily gone her way, never got to fight Ronda Rousey, didn't get to beat a reigning champion at 125 instead fighting for a vacant title leading many to believe that the division was created specifically for her. Opponents who are too scared to push the pace against her leading to some lackluster fights, will probably never get a third fight against Amanda Nunes and never got the chance to end Zhang Weili's win streak.

Unfortunately his dominance as champion was exactly the reason why the UFC was looking to axe the weight-class altogether once he left. DJ was really the only man in the division anyone knew, and Henry Cejudo hadn't quite yet established himself as one of the best. Many thought Henry was gifted the win over DJ in their rematch after all.
I think GSP is the only one that you objectively can't argue about. I think he is a close to perfect as you can get in the sport. Sure khabib is undefeated, sure DJ has the most title defenses. You can make an argument for all of them. But you can argue GSP, as close to perfect as you can possibly get.
GSP is definitely perfect in MMA. he eventually avenged his 2 losses which is more impressive than being undefeated. most people are losing their minds when they took their first L and cannot comeback properly, GSP is one of the few fighters who was defined after his losses and overcome it.
Overlooked fighters on this list: Dominic Cruz DC Stipe Cain Fghters that will most likely end up on this list: Charles Oliveira Kamaru Usman Francis Ngannou Henry Cejudo
Bas rutten and Randy couture were what got me into mma. Just imagine if randy hadn't started so late in life. The guy never fought even close to his prime. And look at the people it took to beat him even as an old man. To me it will always be one of the tragedies of MMA history that we got Couture so late.
WAY too early, she has too much time left on her clock before calling it a day and establishing a legacy. That being said, I don't think she has anyone left to fight. The only thing now is to build up her bank balance.
Khabib was a once in a generation type of talent but he beat 3 out and out strikers in his reign. Half of the current champs have more title defences than that.
@@1daboi100 Its not like the guys he beat were one-dimensional though. He dominated a prime RDA before reaching his peak. RDA is a great grappler in his own right.
Khabib, phenomenal fighter and MMA record. The posing with, and ties to Kadyrov is not so phenomenal in my opinion. Would be tough for me to personally include him on a list like this.
I think what he meant was that Randy was the only fighter to win back his title in an immediate rematch. Between Randy getting his belt back against Vitor and recently Figgy against Moreno, believe it or not every champion lost the immediate rematch. And yes while Stipe did get his belt back, the rematch wasn't technically immediate because DC snuck in a short notice title defence against Derrick Lewis. And yes Stipe did deserve to belong on this list, I'd argue in place of Amanda Nunes because her (baffling) loss to Pena is a blemish. Rose is still building her legacy, when its all said and done I think her career will be regarded as a successful one and she'll go down as one of the WMMA greats. Jones though has tarnished his legacy by thrice failing drug tests like a drug cheat and his countless transgressions outside the cage.
Consecutive losses and failed drug tests tarnished his legacy. You cannot overlook this aspect of his legacy, its part of his history and sadly he was responsible for it.
You forgot Chael P Sonnen. Not only did he grow up in the mean streets of West Linn, Oregon and SURVIVED, but never lost a round. Unless you count that round were he tapped for Silva because he felt bad beating him up for 5 rounds. And we all know we don't.
Bas and Frank really are forgotten by the newer fans because so many don't realize UFC wasn't the first, or best, MMA organization of the time. If you really want to see what these guys were about just watch their 2nd fight. And if you really want some perspective on how ahead of their time they were just watch some of the other fights of the era and you will see how most fighters were much more one dimensional.
When Marty Guzmán demands "respect on his name", someone should play this video for him. I've said many times, it's not just about winning fights and titles.
Not that she should be first, but how is Cyborg not top 10? Champion for 4 different organizations. 25-2-0-1 record. Unbeaten for 13 years. 21 stoppages, 20 kos. Helps build wells in Africa. Lost to Nunes then dominated the next 5 opponents.
Randy Couture the only fighter to ever win a title back after losing it? I don't know if that was worded improperly or I'm missing something. Stipe lost his title and got it back, so did Deiveson Figureido just the other night. Also GSP lost to Matt Serra and got his back, Chuck Lidell won his back after he lost to Randy......
This is my favorite video that this channel has put out so far. There are a lot of "armchair critics" who hop on RUclips, Reddit, Facebook, and other social media to give their "professional analysis" of fighters. There are also fans who are quick to ditch a fighter when the fighter hits a snag, like in such cases: Ben Askren's loss to Jorge Masvidal, both of Ronda Rousey's career losses, Anderson Silva's antics catching up to him, etc. That being said, I'm glad this video put Amanda Nunes in a better light. She had pulled out of at least one fight, and otherwise I didn't know much about her as a fighter or her accomplishments. Yet, having them shown here really makes her stand out in a much better light than most casual fans would say. She is literally the glue that holds together the "what if" on the Rousey vs Cyborg dream match, having defeated both of them but being forever tied to their career history. All of the rest of the fighters in this video also had a strong case for each of them. The fans of this channel need a sequel! Maybe, give it 2-5 years or so, as the sport is continuing to evolve and hype trains continue to build and derail. Also, insert meme here: Chael never lost a round, most concrete fighter!
It doesn't make her legacy void, but its a blemish that will hang over her for the rest of her career. Not because it happened, but the way it happened. You couldn't get a more embarrassing loss as champ then that, it also was a bad look for WMMA because of how sloppy the exchanges were. Its much worse then when Anderson Silva got KO'd while taunting, as at least Silva won many fights before while taunting.
GSP easily the GOAT, beat opponents at their own game, avenged his notable losses, all those records. He beat a murderers row of killers, many of who were juiced to the gills. He embodies what a mixed martial artist is. Nobody comes close to GSP
A measure of GSP's character is that a lot of former opponents are now friends / friendly. You can argue the greatest fighter, but he's absolutely been the greatest champion. 😎👊
Poor stipe😕 I don’t care how much more of a career he has. He’s already ETCHED HIS LEGACY. It’s actually quite criminal to not have him on this list, let alone to not even mention him. He’s a true gent, fighter and a good human.
I don't think Khabib belongs with the other fighters here. He got down in the gutter with MacGregor - putting a stain on the sport's credibility - and retired before hammering out a legacy comparable to the other fighters here. I like and admire the man, and I don't really hold the above against him as a fighter or a human being, but he doesn't have a "concrete legacy" like the others here. There's just too much "what could have been" and "that's unfortunate" to put his legacy up there with GSP and Demetrius Johnson.
Don't blame Khabib for getting agitated by Conor's awful trash talk and clownish antics. Also at the end of the day he was undefeated at the highest level which counts for something, and utterly dominant in his prime. His legacy at face value may not compare to what GSP and other champs did based on defences, but the dominance and undefeated status makes him special in that regard. Don't fall for the toxic haters who are trying to tear down his legacy at every opportunity, those people don't listen to reason.

Anderson Silva is definitely the Jordan of MMA not Fedor. I understain Fedor's reign was longer, but watching Silva perform was like watching a masterclass. That front-kick knockout to the face is equivalent to Jordan doing a dunk from the foul line. He looked like Bruce Lee in there for years!!!
Amen. Silva was un-be-lievable
It's a "you had to be there" type of thing. If you were actively following MMA back in 2000-2010 you'd understand. And by "following" I don't mean watching an occasional early UFC card while wearing an affliction T-shirt.
He did get popped for peds.Other than that yes.
Apparently fuck silvas long reign and ability to look unstoppable at middle weight, khabib has 3 title defenses and beat Conor, Dustin and Justin.... This list is a joke.
@@richardmorris7063 he was later cleared on that
this is one of the best top tens y'all have done! every fighter here definitely deserved their spot
That Nunez vs Cyborg fight was so awesome. The violence was just incredible
So glad Fedor gets a proper mention here.
The man was and is all class. Always let the fight do the talking even lost with grace and I'm sad he's lost in the current landscape as he defined an era for ages.
All that and being an undersized heavyweight who trained in his home gym and refused to so weights past 35. Absolute machine
My favorite fighter all time. He basically got me hooked on MMA around 2006. He's tied for GOAT with GSP imo.
@@BeeStrings I think with Silva/Jones out for roids, its GSP, Fedor, DJ, Khabib, and Aldo for top 5.
@@julianmarx2002 Aldo never juiced???? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣did you forget his WEC days, plus max Holloway has better legacy if he regains the belt.
I came across MMA from a rampage fight and then heard bas rutens commentary and then watched Fedor fight and he was so so fast and just unbelievably powerful. Grappled whenever he wanted or didn't want to. Nastiest ground and pound I've ever seen Vs noguiera. Just unbelievable fighter. Still can't bring myself to watch any of the losses again.
@@Dizzylittlelord Nogueira was the greatest submission artist in the heavyweight division as well, and instead of waiting for a stand up, Fedor just dove into his guard and beat the shit out of him. Legendary.
Am I just confused? They said Randy is the only person to win a title back. But haven't multiple fighters done that? DC did it just a few years ago with Stipe right?
GSP is for sure the G.O.A.T. Class at all times, and poise like no other.
Randy is not the only one to win a title after he losing it. Cain, Stipe, Sylvia, Figuirendo, TJ, GSP, Hughes and Rose did it too. Randy is the first but not the only one.
This is one of the best lists you guys have ever put together
Stipe should definitely be on that list
I think a shocking omission might be Valentina. She's a great ambassador for the sport.
She's still building her legacy. Give it a year or two and it'll be concrete. First woman (perhaps fighter) to fill her belt with rubies and most consecutive title defences of any WMMA fighter would be a major accomplishment. Of course in MMA nothing is set in stone.
Val is gonna run out of opponents before she can make a list like this. Otherwise I agree.
@@madgavin7568 I mean, it would have to be Weili moving up to fight to fight Valentina, and I'm sure it would have happened if Weili had remained the strawweight champion. But it's not like Val's legacy will suffer because of Weili lol
@@weaponx2888 Its just it will a 'what could have been' legacy instead of a perfect one.
I think Max Holloway and Stipe could have easily made this list. But I understand their omissions
Anderson Silva, Bj Penn, Royce, Rousey in terms of legacy in mma history could have had spots
@@neilshah5084 idk if you can include Bj Penn just after that street fight where he got slept by some random bloke
@@neilshah5084 rousey??? She was definitely groundbreaking at the time but come on. She threw a huge hissy fit and dissed the sport that made her famous in the first place. If she took her loss with grace I could see her on this list. But nah, not with that attitude
@@neilshah5084 Royce and Anderson have popped for PEDs, that’s definitely a tarnish on their legacy, but their contribution to the sport was top of the line.
@@jamesrobinson1918 definitely not Anderson too. He popped up for PED.
I would love to see Aldo recapture UFC gold. It would be such a great story to see
If he could avenge his loss to Petyr it would be glorious to say the least.
@@isaiahroque8055 too bad Yan is a fucking machine 😭
@@isaiahroque8055 I just don't see it happening. Aldo could very well come up short against Sandhagen or Dillashaw. His chances against Sterling are good though.
@@madgavin7568 I don't like sterling but his bjj and wrestling can f*ck aldo up.
@@OK-vb8kg That's actually why they say Aldo would do well. He's the hardest person to keep on the ground in FW and BW or probably hardest person to control p4p.
GSP always going to be my favorite fighter for life
Aldo has been on top for it seems like years. Plus he's a solid dude.
DJ should be at the top hands down... carrying an entire weight class and keeping it alive when it was to be canned... that itself speaks volume..
Not many elite competition like gsp silva and jones
Overlooked fighters on this list:
Dominic Cruz
DC
Stipe
Cain
Fghters that will most likely end up on this list:
Charles Oliveira
Kamaru Usman
Francis Ngannou
Henry Cejudo
Cejudo retired too early and nearly all his best wins have asterisks over them. Oliveira I have no idea how long he'll remain as champion.
DC's rivalry whit Jones kind of ruins it tho
How is Valentina not on here? Number one P4P and a wonderful person with huge influence in her home country
GSP is the GOAT
No matter how good Usman gets,he will never overshadow GSP
Bas rutten and Randy couture were what got me into mma.
Just imagine if randy hadn't started so late in life. The guy never fought even close to his prime. And look at the people it took to beat him even as an old man. To me it will always be one of the tragedies of MMA history that we got Couture so late.
Would it be too early to include Bullet Shevchenko on this list? She’s the embodiment of a martial artist.
Best female fighter ever imo
@@ald3n507 same here
She's still building her legacy.
Good argument she’s already the wmma goat
WAY too early, she has too much time left on her clock before calling it a day and establishing a legacy. That being said, I don't think she has anyone left to fight. The only thing now is to build up her bank balance.
That mustache at 8:05 is one of the most legendary things to appear on this list.
I’m glad Jones want on this list, I’m sorry but the peds and arrest ruined it for him
Jones has cemented himself as a scum bag POS cheater
Just thank you!
GSP is the GOAT in my opinion 🐐
Stipe should be here, well rounded game for a heavyweight
The first two fighters I thought of when I saw the title were Couture and GSP. Well done.
Top 5 (in no particular order)
GSP
Khabib
Stipe Miocic
Jose Aldo
Randy Couture
🙏
Throw Demetrius in there.
replace Khabib with DJ and your list is pretty much mine.
@@abishekarun7342 who tf cares ur opinion if u don't like Khabib there you should not add him in ur lost lol

I found it disturbing
Khabib, phenomenal fighter and MMA record.
The posing with, and ties to Kadyrov is not so phenomenal in my opinion. Would be tough for me to personally include him on a list like this.
You guys need honorable mentions for this one: Stipe and Dan Henderson come to mind.
MMA On Point has cemented itself as
my favourite MMA RUclips channel 🤙
Probably the first list of yours I can agree with 100%, Great job.
Wait what? Randy Couture is the only fighter to win back his champion title. What about Stipe and Namajunas and Jones?
Saku needed to be on this list
Interesting how a lot of the fighters on this list have had a rocky history with the ufc.. hmm
Incredible video! I’m shocked that Anderson didn’t make the list tho
Here so early, the concrete is still wet.
😆😆😆
Lol good one
If I see an MMA top 10 video and they don’t have catchy little ringing sound in the beginning, I gotta bail. This channel is the best at the game.
When Marty Guzmán demands "respect on his name", someone should play this video for him.
I've said many times, it's not just about winning fights and titles.
Love this channel
Chael P. Sonnen invented Mixed Martial Arts, where is he?
You forgot to mention that Randy and Chuck are the only two men in the world who look good in an Affliction tshirt.
HOW is Stipe not on this list?
Not that she should be first, but how is Cyborg not top 10? Champion for 4 different organizations. 25-2-0-1 record. Unbeaten for 13 years. 21 stoppages, 20 kos. Helps build wells in Africa. Lost to Nunes then dominated the next 5 opponents.
Randy Couture better be on here !
You should do a fun video on the twins of mma. Fighter that look like each other or are compared when fighting like Nasrat H and Gastelum.
gsp being 1 is granted i’m pretty sure he got a lot of people including myself into the sport
Thank you MMA on Point for continuously teaching us about the history of MMA
Imagine the worst line GSP has ever said was, "I am not impressed by your performance." XDDDD
Randy Couture the only fighter to ever win a title back after losing it? I don't know if that was worded improperly or I'm missing something. Stipe lost his title and got it back, so did Deiveson Figureido just the other night. Also GSP lost to Matt Serra and got his back, Chuck Lidell won his back after he lost to Randy......
do top ten fighters who talk during the fight or top ten fighters talking during the fight moments please
The absolute best of the best as fighters and equally as important as people.
What about Chael Sonnen? Undefeated, undisputed. The man never lost a fight. He never even lost a round
because the list is only for humans
Loved this one!
GSP never avenged his losses against Captain America or The Falcon. Overrated.
Glad Nunes was put on this list. People are acting like this one set back makes her legacy void.
Well said, most MMA fans are forgetful unfortunately
It doesn't make her legacy void, but its a blemish that will hang over her for the rest of her career. Not because it happened, but the way it happened. You couldn't get a more embarrassing loss as champ then that, it also was a bad look for WMMA because of how sloppy the exchanges were. Its much worse then when Anderson Silva got KO'd while taunting, as at least Silva won many fights before while taunting.
the best guy 1 on your list said that number 1 for him is number 2 from your list hahaha
Very good video btw !
Chuck Liddell is like ''stone cold'' Steave Austin of MMA
Best video yet!
Khabib over DJ? What???
Isn’t Glover Texeria the oldest first time champ ever? Not Randy Couture
Poor stipe😕 I don’t care how much more of a career he has. He’s already ETCHED HIS LEGACY. It’s actually quite criminal to not have him on this list, let alone to not even mention him. He’s a true gent, fighter and a good human.
Good list. GSP and Fedor would be my 1 & 2 as well.
How did y’all miss DC? Or Stipe? Smfh
Henry Cejudo?
Dominick Cruz?
Cain Velasquez?
Max Holloway?
Part of why i loved GTA4 ricky gervais standup and bass just being bass lol
I don't think Khabib belongs with the other fighters here. He got down in the gutter with MacGregor - putting a stain on the sport's credibility - and retired before hammering out a legacy comparable to the other fighters here.
I like and admire the man, and I don't really hold the above against him as a fighter or a human being, but he doesn't have a "concrete legacy" like the others here. There's just too much "what could have been" and "that's unfortunate" to put his legacy up there with GSP and Demetrius Johnson.
completely agree. don't know how they put him ahead of the likes of DJ and Aldo.
Might Mouse isn't talked about enough for who and what he is in CS
