  • The hosts engage in a thoughtful discussion regarding the delicate task of maintaining a healthy work-life balance and the difficulties that arise when juggling both a career and a family. Drawing from their personal experiences, they provide insights on how they have successfully managed this equilibrium. They underscore the significance of having a supportive life partner who comprehends the demands of their professional commitments. The conversation emphasizes the importance of prioritizing family and being fully present during significant moments, all while acknowledging the pressures of work and the responsibility to provide for their loved ones.
    They explore the intricacies of being involved with a partner who leads a busy lifestyle and offer guidance on navigating the associated challenges. They stress the importance of maintaining open lines of communication, fostering understanding, and finding compromises in order to sustain a healthy balance. Additionally, the email of the week touches upon the topic of past infatuations and whether it is acceptable to maintain friendships with them while being committed to a current relationship. Do you agree this to be true? Let’s talk about it…🗣️🗣️

    Gia, your elegance and maturity is admirable! Wives can truly learn from you, if they listen! Envy, you're the real deal - a real man and your family is blessed to have you!

    Communication is key. My husband is a workaholic. Now, I make the arrangements and have his assistant rearrange his schedule. I tell him we’re going on vacation during this time frame and your schedule is clear. It works for us, especially now we have kids, he makes sure he’s available for them. It’s a struggle!

    Envy, you're correct. I do not referee my older children and sometimes doing so can backfire on the parents,the kids might see it as picking sides. Leave them alone.

    GIA KEEP BEING A MOM! My mom is the same way! My dad is DJ Envy and would be working or sleeping LOL. I know I can call my mom at anytime for anything anywhere I am. Eventually, I learned to do things myself based on how my mom handled shit. Now as a mother myself, I know I will do the same thing with my kids! Maybe it was that sense of safety and security from my mom, but also gives me confidence to stand up for myself the way my mom would for me. My mom has always said motherhood never ends and it's beautiful to learn how to navigate different stages of your kid's growth. This is my first time commenting, but I've been listening since the very first episode years ago on Soundcloud, but switched to RUclips when you started recording. I always waited for your episodes eagerly on the drop day and I'm glad you are both back! Much love to you and your family!

    I definitely agree with Envy, if your husband or wife has afforded you a life of not having to work then you have to consider that they might not be available all the time. Everyone has a part to play and that’s why having a partner who provides everything is not for the weak. Now I respect Gia on a whole other level because she has been with Envy before he was who he is now but, I think if you complain about him/her working that would mean that you are contradicting the life you want because you know in order to live the life you live, it requires sacrifice. That’s just my opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️

    These episodes are frustrating because most households are 2 working parents where as you guys speak on this from the perspective on only DJ Envy working and Gia staying in a luxury home with a nanny.

    I team envy.. Also, Logan is right if Madison got an Uber she would have to sit in back seat and she wouldn’t be telling the Uber driver she has car sickness. I think if the older kids couldn’t compromise they should pay for their own Uber instead of dad

    Envy is definitely right on this one! Gia is the type that receives her high from feeling needed. Gia although you mean well you are handicapping your children. I would never want a partner with no problem solving skills & has to run to their mommy every decision. Logan sounds like a mommas boy to the 3rd degree & we all know they are the absolute worst! Let ur children think things through & make their own decisions as adults.

    Envy, money isn't everything! Nothing is more valuable than time. Material things get old and they'll always be there but time never comes back. I'd pick spending time with my love ones over living a lavish lifestyle any day! Now if you need to work a lot to make sure your family's basic needs are met then that's another story. But in my opinion no one needs a million dollars a year to live comfortably. I grew up middle class and I got to eat dinner with my mom and dad every night. I enjoyed that very much. I wouldn't go back and change that even if it meant my parents made more money and I would have had a lavish lifestyle.

    • @charlie4006
      @charlie4006 Месяц назад

      @kendallwhitfield5504 you are right. But as Gia said, she and Envy chose to live a certain lifestyle. Money is not everything. You have to remember Envy and Gia were married at a young age and they started a family very early. So, he was literally pursuing a career as a DJ and raising a family. Their lifestyle doesn't reflect the average American. So their choices on how they wanted to manage their work balance life makes sense for him

    Oh my God I love this intro conversation!!! I'm a single mom & I'm just like Gia. But I've been questioning myself lately about this stuff. I loved doing a lot for them bcuz my mom never did those things for me. But as they've gotten older & rely on me so much, I ask myself did I fail them? I'm starting to tell them "figure it out" but I feel so bad 💔

    Envy. It's different strokes for different folks. Everyone won't always choose the most extravagant life if they had a choice. I am one. I think it's beautiful if the parent can manage it. But there's more than one way to enrich the kid. Also sometimes the only way to get what your describing is to be a dual income home and sometimes what the kids would miss out on just for both parents to be burnt out from work but overly abundant financially is absolutely not worth it.

    Yes, I never want to be the nag either, but when my man works 10-12 hours rebuilding a house daily and he isn't making the money he deserves that's when I have a problem. He is a independent contractor and he under bids his work. He can build anything. We live in a predominantly white area so he drives to St.Louis to work. I just feel like if DJ envy was gone all the time and yall where struggling financially it would be different. My profile Pic is my husband not me lol

    I love the way this family operates but Gia you definitely took your daughters side in the drinking and driving situation. She wanted her cake and to eat it too. It did not make sense to want to drive but also want to drink. Sleeping on the car is dangerous. And he was right if she takes Ubers she sucks it up so do it this time . Dad you should have let that be your sons outing. Sis should have set that one out.
