Through his work, the Senegalese Diop freed generations of Africans from the inferiority complex that had been instilled in them through contact with the Europeans, the colonial powers. 🌍📚🦁
The English historian Prof. Martin Bernal, who teaches in the US, is no less zealous when it comes to freeing African history from the colonial perspective. He, too, holds the view that black Egyptians founded the ancient Egyptian civilisation...
But Bernal was nearly lynched for his writings that denounced Eurocentrism and the falsification of African history! 🔥🚀🎯
This shows the importance of exploring Africa's history beyond the colonial point of view. One can only hope, therefore, that interest in the research of Anta Diop & Martin Bernal, the two most important proponents of a new African historiography, will grow both in the United States & in Europe! 🌱🌻✌🏻😎

CIVILIZATION OR BARBARISM, subtitled An Authentic Anthropology, is a somewhat advanced presentation of Cultural Anthropology. First time readers of Cheikh Anta Diop, consider THE CULTURAL UNITY OF BLACK AFRICA, subtitled "The Domains of Patriarchy and Matriarchy in Classical Antiquity". This work introduces the fundamental concepts of cultural anthropology within an African context.

I remember my first real paid job at the age of sixteen and two whitemen talking and one of them saying that black people did not contribute to civilisation or achieve anything to speak of, and he also said, black people don't read so if he wanted to hide the truth, he'd put it in a book. This angered me because this man seemed know more of me and my people than i knew about myself. Fortunately, i was not arrested for the bitch lick i gave him and he took it like a man although i did get fired. (Respect to you Ivor for not calling the cops.)
I bought this book about seven years ago and although i completed two university degrees one being African and Caribbean Studies, and i'm no scholar by any means, and i must say Civilisation or Barbarism was the most interesting book to read, and also for me the hardest, but because of my dyslexia i almost had to use a thesaurus for every scientific termonology that Diop used, which i'd previously never heard of. I would definitely recommend buying this book if even only to win an argument with white folk as to our true origin, along with scientifically proven evidence in relation to the vast span of time between us and the european's emergence and as well as our contributions to civilisation that europeans later adopted and did not state their source.
    One Love.

    Eyewitness to ancient egyptian phenotype:
Herodotus: The ancient Greek historian who lived in the 5th century BCE described the ancient Egyptians as having black skin and woolly hair in his work "Histories."
Strabo: The ancient Greek geographer and historian who lived in the 1st century BCE described the Ethiopians (a term that could refer to people from various parts of Africa) as having black skin and woolly hair, and noted that some people considered the Egyptians to be of the same race.
Diodorus Siculus: The ancient Greek historian who lived in the 1st century BCE described the Ethiopians as having dark skin and curly hair, and noted that some people considered the Egyptians to be of the same race.
Plutarch: The ancient Greek philosopher and historian who lived in the 1st and 2nd centuries CE wrote that the Egyptians were "black with heat" due to the climate of their homeland.
Al-Masudi: The 10th-century Arab historian and geographer described the ancient Egyptians as "a black people, different-looking and woolly-haired."
Jean-Francois Champollion: The 19th-century French scholar who deciphered the hieroglyphs of ancient Egypt noted that some ancient Egyptians depicted themselves with darker skin tones than those of their neighbors.

Herodotus: The description of the Egyptians as having "black skin and woolly hair" can be found in Book II, Chapter 22, which begins with the sentence "For my part I hold that the Colchians, the Egyptians, and the Ethiopians..."
Al-Masudi: The passage describing the Egyptians as "the darkest of all humans" can be found in Volume 1, Chapter 3, on page 52 of the edition I consulted.
Jean-Francois Champollion: In his "Lettre à M. Dacier relative à l'alphabet des hiéroglyphes phonétiques," Champollion does not use the term "black" to describe the ancient Egyptians. Rather, he argues that they were of African origin, based on linguistic and cultural evidence. The full text can be found at the link I provided earlier.

Where did Strabo claim the Egyptian were like Ethiopians . Strabo seems to be measuring the world, and clearly didn’t know how big Africa/ Ethiopia was. Ethiopia means burnt faces, a term you can be sure was used for black ppl. Not a country, as , as the Romans travelled through the Sahara they called the people in the west Ethiopians also. And claim the garamanites hunted Ethiopians , if the Egyptian were black they would have called them Ethiopians as well, stand to logic.
Strabo noted Sesotris the Egyptian was the first to subdue the countries of the Ethiopian ( burnt face ppl)
Sesostris the Aegyptian, which tells in hieroglyphics of his passage across the gulf; for manifestly he was the first man to subdue the countries of the Aethiopians and the Troglodytes; and he then crossed into Arabia, and thence

Sorry I didn’t find Herodotus saying any of the sort. I mostly find him trying to find the source of the Nile. Can’t really take him at his word.
Here he described the land as black, by right that’s what kemet means, black land, not ppl
Egypt where sand is found, namely, the hill above Memphis; and further, I found the country to bear no resemblance either to its borderland Arabia, or to Libya- nay, nor even to Syria, which forms the seaboard of Arabia; but whereas the soil of Libya is, we know, sandy and of a reddish hue, and that of Arabia and Syria inclines to stone and clay, Egypt has a soil that is black and crumbly, as being alluvial and formed of the deposits brought down by the river from Ethiopia. ( not modern day Ethiopia)
We know any biblical mention of Ethiopia, is referring to kush, as Herodotus made clear of the city ruled by Candace
The country above Elephantine is inhabited by the Ethiopians, who possess one-half of this island, the Egyptians occupying the other. Above the island there is a great lake, the shores of which are inhabited by Ethiopian nomads; after passing it, you come again to the stream of the Nile, which runs into the lake. Here you land, and travel for forty days along the banks of the river, since it is impossible to proceed further in a boat on account of the sharp peaks which jut out from the water, and the sunken rocks which abound in that part of the stream. When you have passed this portion of the river in the space of forty days, you go on board another boat and proceed by water for twelve days more, at the end of which time you reach a great city called Meroe, which is said to be the capital of the other Ethiopians. The only gods worshipped by the inhabitants are Jupiter and Bacchus, to whom great honours are paid. There is an oracle of Jupiter in the city, which directs the warlike expeditions of the Ethiopians; when it commands they go to war, and in whatever direction it bids them march, thither straightway they carry their arms.
I actually read it. And there’s nothing to confirm the Egyptian were black. Other than when kush invaded, it’s more likely they were not black

Bible and koran and book of Mormons has nothing to do with black people from the black land. Our records predate monotheism by millions of years and is recorded on stone tablets, papyri, on the walls of Tama-Re " Egipt". No Faith or belief but facts and confirmations. I Really think it is wiser to focus on the Heritage of Africa (Ityopiya/Alkebulan/Kemet) and from the Diaspora, even if there is maybe some Truth in what you said. Reality is we are not so different. They are still caught in a Web of Division tactics and the Diversionary illusion of Superiority. People aren't ready to hear It just yet.
A very sensitive topic because of the Situation, the fact we're discussing the Semitic/Hebrew Legacy is something to be careful with. Although we can affirm without risk that, there was indeed a deeper connection between the Sons of Jacob-Israel, nomadic Tribes from the land of Canaan, and Kemet civilization. To put it in simple words, we could just say, they learned a lot from each other without necessary sharing the exact same number of dna strands.
"[...] Encourage One Another and Build Each Other Up"
We know that Joseph Son of Jacob-Israel was offered a Kemi name by Pharaoh/Fary himself : becoming Safnath-Paneah, "The Wise One". Then he proceed to take for wife an "Egyptian" from noble lineage, Asnath daughter of Potiphéra, priest of On. She brought to life two sons, born on Kemet soil. Their respective name were Manasseh and Ephraim.
The life of Mosis, giving us a better insight on the state of relation between the Kemet and Semitic people further down the line.
Later on, in the beginning of the Christian Era, we have many Old Egyptian accounts and some ancient maps, giving us a better insight on the potential itinerary taken by The Holy Family during their Escape from Galilee to the land of Egypt as Refugees.
"In the steps of the Holy Family, from Bethlehem to Upper Egypt"
A lot of small churches were erected on the different locations were the Holy family would have resided during their Journey. (Coptic scriptures mentioning at least seven sites)
And the Last remnant of "The Virgin's Tree", a Tree that, as we're told, provided shelter to The Virgin Mary herself. One last branch still remain with us today, under the good care of the local population, as a Reminder.
      The following claim :
"Semit and Kemet people were One and the Same..." proved to be, not only of the most Simplistic judgement, but to showcase Utter Naivety in regards of the Significant Amount of Syncretism, from prior Civilizations, that took place In the Age of Antiquity.
That we like it or not, sharing the same Ancestral Lineage is the History of Mankind.
In the context of Ancient Egypt, it's almost Poetic that Cats are one of Kemet's most sacred Animals. Genetically Lions and Cats share a common Ancestor, although they've been separated by Evolution they are still coming from the same Source. There is countless occurrence of such phenomenon in the work of Creation.
I just felt valid to encourage people, if they can, to take the time on doing some proper research in order to back their claim with facts thus avoiding any emotional bias who could affect the quality of their judgement, in the attempt of expressing themselves.
Exchange based solely on considered, constructive opinions, is the most Profitable and Natural way to digest any type of informations.
And hopefully it shall be :
"Knowledge pave the way to Love and Love in it's turn fosters understanding, and leads one along to the path of great common achievements"
      Haile Selassie I

Stop spreading lies. 2 lies here that I will debunk : C.A. Diop has never set foot in Egypt, BIG LIE ! In truth C. A. Diop has been to UNESCO symposium in Cairo, 1974, to debate his views with other egyptologists. 2nd BIG LIE: C.A. Diop was never credited, recognized. The1974 UNESCO symposium in Cairo was held at the request of C.A.Diop, to settle the question of the race of ancient Egyptians. He scientifically showed to the plethore of scholars who went to challenge him, that ancient Egyptian were black. Do you think eminent scholars in the field of Egyptology would come to an event summoned by Diop if he was a nobody ? The era of lies is over.

I was once like Mr Mutabaruka on my journey of knowledge and I almost end up in the hands of the devil.
These ancient Egyptian religions that this man is bragging about were all born in Mesapetomia, Babylon where they were worshipping gods and goddesses in this structure: father god, mother god and son god.
This religion is still practiced today under different categories such as freemason, Roman Catholic church, Islam, Hindu etc
In these Morden times people call it Illuminati

What we have here is Muta use of science to confirm his biases, he uses it with Lucy, now here, yet he rejects evolution, and wrongfully claims science says man comes from monkey. He’s wrong no science says that, religious people and young earth creationists, claims that’s what science says. Therefore he believes religion over science when he denies evolution.
He needs to revise is 3 monkey poem to make it be true and factual. Right now it’s a lie. I don’t know if he knows it’s a lie, it may just be his misinformation.

I Never knew tv should be called "I Never knew the truth". To be a Pharoah (especially the first Pharoah) in ancient Egypt, there was one most important mitigating factor: The characteristic of "blue eyes". Ancient peoples believed that "blue eyes" meant you were a "demi-God" - had the blood of Gods, and then worthiness to rule. Yeah, a bunch of BS, but nonetheless that was what early ancient Egyptians believed.
