I use a Presto induction 23 quart canner and it works a dream in my induction stove. No dragging or scratching! I had no other choice. It has worked well with no problems. I’m in the UK - 240 volts. I did contact my manufacturer.
Wow! What an option. We invested in the Presto digital pressure canner because of having a glass top stove and I wanted to preserve anything 2 years ago. Thanks to you and your Canuary crew, my confidence is growing. No rebel canning for me. Can't thank you enough.
LOL! You are so much fun to watch when you get excited! I've sent this info to my sister and maybe I'll get to teach her how to pressure can. Finally. Thank you.
I’ve been using that cooktop for a couple of months now. It’s awesome! I was using my NuWave prior to that Z it worked fine, but took a lot longer to heat up and timed out so I had to sit right there the whole time. This one is soooo much faster and easier. Love it!
I'm in the uk and I have the same induction gadget. It's exactly the same exept for the name on it and the plug... mine came from aldi and with the standard UK plug on it. I bought two and paid 19.99 (reduced from 24.99 for one and got the other a year later for 14.99 reduced from 29.99 yey) I love mine ❤
Excellent video !! After seeing a video this past week. Sorry I forgot which channel. She had one in her video so I had ordered the duxtop professional cooktop. The new Presto canner I purchased 2 years ago was the Presto Induction 23 qt. I am so excited to get my new cooktop. Plus, it will be easier for me to can in the enclosed back porch area during hot days. I am looking forward to more videos and your thoughts as this year goes forward. Happy Canning & Have a Blessed Night ✌️
So you haven’t had a problem with the induction canner on a non induction surface? I’ve been leery about getting it because of the reviews talking about separation.
Lisa, Lisa! Than you so much for sharing this information! I have a Bosch induction range. It’s about 10 yrs old. Ok, I started canning in 2023. I watched tons of videos about canning including your channel. I mentioned before on your channel that I was intimidated with stove top pressure canners so I bought a NESCO pressure canner. I never knew that glass top ranges had wt limitations! I also have a portable induction cook top but never used it since I don’t have the canner in this video. After watching, I’m not afraid to buy this canner and use it on either my induction cook top or my portable induction burner. Also, once you turn off the an induction burner it cools down very fast and anything that over flows on it never burns the surface like electric cook tops. This information has changed my thinking, a big thanks!😊
I use my 23 qt. Presto induction capable canner on my glass-top LG stove, mainly because I happened to get a "cannable" stove accidentally, since i hadn't started canning at that time! I find it odd that your weighted regulator won't work on that canner, since that's the canner I have and mine works fine. I have an induction cook plate, but I've never used it. I just bought the induction-capable Presto "in case" I ever replaced my stove with an induction stove. Glad to see this video, since I now want to pull out my induction cook plate and see if it will handle my canner.
I do all my canning on my woodstove. So thankful I have that option because I could never afford to run my propane, gas stove for as long as I would need to in order to can much of anything!! The cost of electricity and gas where I live as quadrupled in the last few years.
@ it’s a real bonus!! Going to burn a hot fire everynight anyways so costs nothing more than the gas and time to harvest the wood…. And if the you know what hits the fan… I’m a pro at cooking w out electricity and gas! ☺️😉
I'm so happy that you have made this video, I have a glass top stove and the manufacturer states no canning recommendation. I have been dehydrating my foods. I want to do the ugly chicken since I first saw you made it on your channel. Thank you for having the love and desire to educate us in food preparation, which is much needed even more today with everything happening with the economy . I pray for a continuous blessing to your family and channel.
Just went on Amazon and they have the cooktop and canner as a set. I have an induction canner which is presto and cooktop, so I am going to do the test you did on the time. My induction cooktop is larger and round, so I am going to do some expermenting. Thank you Leisa for everything you teach us.
I bought the presto induction canner when they first came out. I was buying my 1st new canner and decided to go with induction one for my non induction stove (glass stove top) it was only 10 dollars more at that time. I liked the flat bottom for the glass top. (A few months before 2020 so easier to find) I can all the time on my glass top stove. Only scratch on it is from the hubby not using a cutting board on it and a knife. I have used my portable induction burner also and it worked great.
Ha, you hit the nail on the head for me: I have a problem with perfection... and I am so far from it! 🤣😂🤭 I also never understood the request by the Canning Powers That Be to drag a huge pot filled with still-boiling water and glass jars across a stove top, when we're supposed to be so careful about not tipping jars. 🤷♀ The logic escapes me. Who wrote that rule, way back when?! Somebody with more muscles than I have, that's for sure. 😄 Thanks so much for sharing this option. Definitely a winner! 💖😊👍
I was so motivated to do large batch pressure canning by Canuary. Because of that,I LITERALLY just bought this exact same Presto last week. It says you can use the gas top, which I have, but I also have an induction top. So, I looked for a canner that works with an induction top. The reasons for this include the cost of electric induction vs. using my LP, as you mentioned. The other reason is that the induction top won't heat my kitchen up like gas. I don't know about the speed to heat things up. My experience is that the induction works faster than gas. I will be watching for your update on the weight! PS Prior to this, I've been using an electric pressure canner (NOT cooker), but the quantity is sooo limited. Oh,oh.. I also just thought of something from what you said about teaching. A friend of mine wants to learn how to can. She is a young mom with 2 little kids. I can take my induction top over to her house. That way, the littles can nap while we can!
Wow. I understand why you are excited about this. I don't think another canner is in my foreseeable future, though. The burner is a definite game changer. Thank you for always looking for new ways to teach and share with us. 😊
I have a glass top stove. I have canned on it with no issues. I remember the first time I was so nervous about it. It has been several years now for me to use.
Unknowingly, I purchased an induction canner up here in Canadaland last year. It actually was the only model available from my local hardware store. And I have a glass top stove, so I used an induction burner right off the hop. It makes my life easy. I don't use the timer on my induction burner, so I don't have to worry about it shutting off until I do that myself. I think it takes me about 20-25 minutes to get to the venting point, and then about 25 minutes to get to pressure. I set timers just so I don't get busy in the basement with laundry, etc., so I can make sure I'm here to put on the timer for 10 minutes, and then again so I can be in the kitchen to put the pressure regulator on. We don't have pressure gauges up here on our canners. We just use the "jigglers". It all works well.
I have that induction cooktop so was excited to see this video. You said it holds up to 25 pounds on the cooktop, same as.mine says. The pressure canner itself weighs 10.32 pounds. I weighed one of my quarts of ugly chicken it was 2.9 lbs.Times 7 for a full load is 20.3.. Then the weight of the water I didnt figure that out. Am I wrong, or isn't this too much weight for the cooktop? I hope you do make a follow up video letting us know how you like it after using it, and how you get around the weight restrictions. Thanks so much for your wisdom and canning knowledge you share with the community.
I’ve started testing that Duxtop about a year ago in preparation for a kitchen remodel. I love it so much I’ve disconnected my glass top cooktop. LOVE IT!
Thank you for doing this. I love my little induction burner and was glimpsing this. I didn’t go through with the purchase because it said the material was aluminum (which doesn’t work on induction).. Now that you showed the bottom of the canner I get it. This could be a game changer.
This is the canner I use, I use it on my elec coil stove. I bought it thinking our house might eventually have a glass top stove top. My friend had one at the time and I wanted to be versatile. Great video!
I have a glass top cooktop and decided to go with electric canner. Thank you for talking about this it was something I was worried about and I was right to 😅. This is all new to me.
We have a 5 burner gas stove and I can 3 canners, but usually do 2 at a time. I want a Presto 23 qt so I can stack pint jars :) I actually did my first run of tallow yesterday!!
I purchased my induction 23qt last spring. Also purchased a induction burner. Love both. Mine is a Duxtop BY-C35-D/P961LS, 120V60HZ 1800W I have used a dozen times. Very happy. I also used it outside on a propane burner. Along with my moms 50 yr old presto(all new parts for safety )
I’ve not seen an such a canner that is digital. I’m working on personal research to learn canning that will work for me and mine. I’m excited to learn thank you for sharing.
I got an electric canner to stay off my glass top. I can only do a limited quantity, so the induction looks like the way to go! BTW, you’re cute when you’re in a good moon!
A great option - thank you! My glass top does work for canning (per the manufacturer), but I'm always afraid of breaking it with a full canner. I need to check on these items, and I'll be interested to see what Presto says about the weighted "jiggler". Thank you so much, Leisa!!
Could you please show the complete canning process I have this canner and an induction cook top ,and have to closely monitor it to keep the gauge from fluctuating, thankyou love your videos.
Leisa, I’m always impressed by your enthusiasm and knowledge in teaching preparedness. The very first video I watched of yours was canning meat and I immediately subscribed. So this video- I didn’t fully understand induction cooking so I did some research: it’s cooking with electromagnetic fields. Sure it’s quicker than gas or electric, but radiation is emitted every time you cook. I’ve decided to forgo induction cooking, but I still want to try canning. I’ll have to look back in your previous videos for the equipment you used back then. Thank you! ❤
I am getting that canner for my new induction stove. I canned on my glass top for 13 years with a Presto 16 quart & no scratches. I would never drag anything over my stovetop. My Frigidaire smooth top & my induction say you can do canning. I am surprised the weight from your old presto doesn't fit. I will have to look into that. I enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this video. I have a stovetop Presto 23 quart and am so excited about this Induction one. I make bone broth in the Ball FreshTech electric water bath canner. I always do a 2nd cook with the bones and combine the batches. This generally makes 30 pints. Now I can process all the jars at once. Will save so much time. I purchased through your Amazon link. The Induction canner was 30% off and was only $7 more than the regular 23 quart. This is happy day! 😊
This is excellent. I've got a glass top stove and just got to the point of wanting to try out a regular canner. I've been canning with an electric canner for the past year and would like to be able to put up more faster lol. Anyway this is a great idea and really not cost prohibitive. Thank you!
I love the excitement!!! This is good to know for the future. I have a glass-top stove that I use for canning. It's fairly new, and I haven't had a problem pressure canning on it. I am hesitant to water bath can on it though since the weight limit is very close to what the manual for my pressure canner says it weighs when it's filled with water, and I don't want to push it. For manuals, I go find the corresponding online manual and just download it (after a quick check that it's the same). This way, I have all my manuals in one place and they don't take up space in my house. If I get rid of something, and I can just delete it.
I have the regular presto 23qt canner and the induction 23qt canner as well and the adjustable regulator you tried at the end of the video does actually fit and work for both of the canners! It’s the only regulator I use at this point 😹 hope that helps! 💖
Thanks Leisa!! I just got a canner for induction but I have a coil stove from what I understand I should be able to use it but now I am wondering because the coils do cool down a bit. Also nice to know my giggler won’t fit now. I have not checked. But I’m glad I got a heads up. Thank you so much.
OMG so excited for this. How many Amps does it pull? Most U.S. outlets are rated for 15 Amps. You just sent my mind spiraling off into so many business ideas for my mini Orchard/farm. I just bought this place six months ago in Oregon. The master food Preserver program is here and starting next month. I just heard I got in. I am so excited. This could really help solidify my Ideas for the house size shop I have on the property. So many cool ideas keeping me going 😊. Thank You Leisa 😊
Very interesting. I have a gas stove but it's on the small size and the kitchen is as well but I have extra counter top and this could have it so I can have two canners going or I could be able to can while my wife is cooking or vice versa. Nice and something to think about. Alvin Blair
I have a portable induction cook top, which I use when canning with a friend who has the Presto induction canner. Works great! I use her stove and she uses my cook top. I really want a Presto induction compatible canner. Double the fun, lol.
I use my 925 and 910 canners on a ceramic side burner because I have a glass top stove. There is an adaption for my stove but I have had my stove for 20 years so not going through that added cost. My ceramic burner has worked just fine for canning for last 20 months. Bought the ceramic burner on Amazon.
Hey Leisa! Yes, i’m one of those people that has a glass, top stove and really would prefer not to count on it even if I could which because I have such a tiny kitchen I was thinking that I was going to have to do my canning outside or put the cooktop on top of my dryer in my garage, which is detached and use the dryers to 220 plug. so, since I have been shopping for canners, I will try to find an induction one and get the induction cooktop so I can use it for my canning and have it for an additional eye if I am cooking a lot on top of the stove, especially if I’m doing water bath canning, or something like that
OOOO so new and shiny pretty new canner. Very cool system. I imagine this will help many people to get into canning. i agree about the glass top stoves. I used to have one very pretty but hard to keep clean and shiny. Hi to Phil in the back. Very happy video today with all the overcast cold sky.
It’s an adjustment but I love our induction stovetop and canning on it. It boils faster, a lot faster. No need to drag the canner. It stops heating the minute you turn it off. I think you will learn to love it! Induction rocks!
If/when I replace my stove, it will be with an induction stove. I only use stainless and cast iron cookware, so my pots and pans are already appropriate. I HATE my current glass top stove, even though it's one I can use my canner on.
I would have to go down too many steps to can outside, even if the weather was right. This is an awesome thing Leisa,l will order the induction canner and the Duxtop ,l have not been able to can as l have a glass cooktop. This helps me so much, thank you,so much,l had been trying g to figure a way.lm excited 🎉😅🎉
FYI: if you buy the med or small freeze drier they use regular outlets. I have the 4 tray med and it's worked very well for me this past year (no special outlet needed). Thanks for the information on this burner and canner. Something to add to my growing list of things to save for. Be safe and take care.
When I brought it, it was a little cheaper. I paid each month until I paid it off then they shipped it to me. For 1 person it works good along with canning and freezing but if I had to do it again I don't think I would. Be safe 😊
I have been waiting for this! Yes, on my first time canning, I dragged and scratched. Just once. I recently bought a digital canner because of my glass top, and it doesn't work. Thank you.
I have been canning on a glass top stove for 33 years. I have Mirro Matic canners. They only hold 7 quarts. The trick is loading the canner carefully. Do not lift onto the top. I only lift to remove from the stove. I have a large cutting board next to my stove that I set my canner on after processing. I'm making sure I don't drag across the stove. I use the disk weights on my canner. They look like a hockey puck with 3 lb options, 5,10,and 15. Most glass top stoves will break if you set the weight of the canner filled down abruptly. My stove is also 33 years ago. I have never scratched it. I have 3 canners, so I can follow one right after the other. When I can in the summer, I use a turkey fryer on the back deck. I leave my kitchen window open a crack so I can listen to the jiggle weight.
We have a portable induction cooktop and it boiled 16 oz water faster than our natural gas stove. Just a little experiment we did. I'd be curious to see you can something with it - even jars of water - and see if or how you adjust the heat level to maintain pressure throughout the canning process. I'm really excited to see induction-compatible canners are (finally?) coming out!
I have had an induction cooktop for over ten years, really glad they have a compatible canner although I would prefer a stainless version, the adaptable layer on the aluminum pots don't heat as quickly as the steel pots and pans. Also, the surface of the cooktop does not heat BUT it will get hot due to heat transference, just like putting a hot pot on the counter...
I keep every manual to everything, it doesn’t go until the item leaves the house for the dump. Love the cooktop. Outside, yes, too hot can in my kitchen in the summer.
I really like this. I think this would be a really great “extra” kitchen item to have. I could definitely use this. Would like to know how you feel about the canning aspect later on after several uses. Thanks so much!
Oh, ty for this. Had trouble with my electric stove. Finally realized the had thermostat isn't working and overheated my canner. Old, cheap, and not worth the repair cost. This will be a great option til I get a new one.
Thanks Leisa for the video! Did not realize until the last few weeks I shouldn’t use my glass top stove. I started checking into Presto counter top canner. They are pricey! So I’ll ck into counter portable burners…that might be cheaper…
@janetbusch6517 I was very impressed by Denali. We had an issue upon arrival because the pressure guage was broken but they quickly replaced it. The tanker is huge, the one thing that took a bit to get used to was the weight goes on immediately and you don't wait for it to vent first. I was very impressed with customer service, ease of getting extra part's
@amyschultz8058 thank you. I recently moved and I'm stuck with an electric glass top. I have presto and all American neither of which can be used on this stove.
Thanks for the great video! Unfortunately Presto forces you to purchase a new weighted regulator and vent pipe in order to use a weighted regulator. I have purchased and installed several of these to convert my old National canners to weighted regulators and it works great!
Today I’m replenishing my bone broth to shelve (and freeze)… my apartment came with one of those coil element stoves. So far so good…I have a presto…really need a steam canner as it’s so much lighter than the huge stock top I use for water bath canning.
Oh darn. I have the 930 All American canner ($850 in Canada here) so I can't afford to buy a new canner. Good information for those who haven't purchased their canner yet. I can outdoors for half the year with a propane burner but that isn't going to work during our Canadian winters. Maybe one day I will find some type of indoor burner for the All American. If anyone knows of one that can handle the weight let me know. Great videos Lisa!!
I used a Cuisinart CB-30P1 Cast-Iron Single Burner with my Presto 01784 23-Quart Induction Compatible Pressure Canner. I had a glass top stove but know I have Gas Stove.
I think this is going to be a game changer! Has anyone told you today that you are AWESOME!!!! ❤
❤

LOL! You are so much fun to watch when you get excited! I've sent this info to my sister and maybe I'll get to teach her how to pressure can. Finally. Thank you.
That’s wonderful!
Fantastic! I cannot put into words how excited I am to finally have an option. Thank you for sharing this information.
You're welcome!

This is such an excellent review! This will be excellent for an RV!
Perfect for an rv!
I’m Using one in our RV.
I have been canning on my glass top stove for over 4 years now without any problems. I couldn't imagine dragging the canner to scratch it.
This works great, I’ve been canning only a year and a half and this set up is all I’ve ever used.
I just went to Amazon and added these to my wish list. I’m so excited! As soon as my budget allows I’m ordering! Thank you for sharing!

This is pretty cool..I didn't know about until this video 😳
I’ve not seen an such a canner that is digital. I’m working on personal research to learn canning that will work for me and mine. I’m excited to learn thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this video
I'm still a little 🐔 when it comes to pressure canning
You have to closely monitor a stove top model the same.
Thank you! ❤
Duxtop also makes one that would be better for canning. It is about $50 more than the one you are showing but it is rated for up to 65 lbs
That's the one I want!
You are so welcome!
Excellent and thanks for sharing today
I live in the PNW north of Seattle and love this state!
The cost tidbit was helpful, that's a pretty big savings over time if you do a lot of cookin.
Leisa the Duxtop commercial model weight limit is 65lbs and is around 200-250$ Canadian
Awesome!!
Super helpful!! Thank you for all you do!!
Double the fun for sure!
Just the video I needed to see! Thanks❤
Hey Leisa! Yes, i’m one of those people that has a glass, top stove and really would prefer not to count on it even if I could which because I have such a tiny kitchen I was thinking that I was going to have to do my canning outside or put the cooktop on top of my dryer in my garage, which is detached and use the dryers to 220 plug. so, since I have been shopping for canners, I will try to find an induction one and get the induction cooktop so I can use it for my canning and have it for an additional eye if I am cooking a lot on top of the stove, especially if I’m doing water bath canning, or something like that
Oh my goodness! Awesome! Now I want one!
Wow. Anything that helps with canning.
Thank you, lisa, for sharing all the information. I've been wondering something like this
I have been canning with the New wave induction burner for a few years with the presto induction canner .
Perfection! Don’t we all struggle with that😉
Love pressure canning!
I am one of those that has to can outside on a camp stove. This is a game changer!
This is a game changer for a lot of people!
Ohmygosh, this is exciting!
I have an induction stove! I love it!
New toys are always so exciteing 😊💚
FYI: if you buy the med or small freeze drier they use regular outlets. I have the 4 tray med and it's worked very well for me this past year (no special outlet needed). Thanks for the information on this burner and canner. Something to add to my growing list of things to save for. Be safe and take care.
Too much money for too little output
Leisa, there is also a coil specifically for canning and can be inserted into some coil top stoves.
I specifically di uss this in the video
I really like this. I think this would be a really great “extra” kitchen item to have. I could definitely use this. Would like to know how you feel about the canning aspect later on after several uses. Thanks so much!
This is perfect! We have a glass top stove. Thank you Lisa!
You’re welcome!
Oh, ty for this. Had trouble with my electric stove. Finally realized the had thermostat isn't working and overheated my canner. Old, cheap, and not worth the repair cost. This will be a great option til I get a new one.
Glad it helped
Wow, this is cool
Thanks Leisa for the video! Did not realize until the last few weeks I shouldn’t use my glass top stove. I started checking into Presto counter top canner. They are pricey! So I’ll ck into counter portable burners…that might be cheaper…
Electric pressure canners are not approved at this time.
Thanks for sharing information it's good to know on stove top stoves
This is awesome! Now its in my cart! HAHAHAHA! Thank you!
That's great!
Yay!! We have a Denali pressure canner that's induction so this is awesome ..
Do you love your Denali? I just recently saw an ad for them and wondered if they were like a presto.
@@janetbusch6517 You're welcome. We can understand. We need to replace our stove and as a canner it's daunting to find what exactly we need anymore.
Thanks for the great video! Unfortunately Presto forces you to purchase a new weighted regulator and vent pipe in order to use a weighted regulator. I have purchased and installed several of these to convert my old National canners to weighted regulators and it works great!
Very informative
I have coil stove
Really hard on burners
Today I’m replenishing my bone broth to shelve (and freeze)… my apartment came with one of those coil element stoves. So far so good…I have a presto…really need a steam canner as it’s so much lighter than the huge stock top I use for water bath canning.
That is awesome , so cool , THANK YOU LEISA
Good information!
Wow, looks like they've changed to weighted Jiggler.... I have Induction Presser Pressure purchased in 2020 and the gauge you shared worked on it.
The regulator that came with it isn't the jiggler
