Weren't koopas based off of a Japanese feudal-period mythical creature called a kuppa? Like a human-tortoise hybrid? Because if that's the case then this Samurai theme works well for the koopas.
No, they're based on the Shellcreepers from the arcade game Mario Bros., which were in turn inspired by cartoon turtles who could remove their shells. As for the name, that comes from kuppa, a Korean rice soup, which was intended to be used for Bowser (hence he was first known as "King Koopa").
The need for them to remind us where they’re from doesn’t go away. Every generation of 5 year olds who are introduced to Nintendo games assumes they’re American probably
This is literally the most beautiful game music ever written. That scary beginning part with those voices, and then the FLUTEEEE
This was another Koji Kondo contribution. Gives me "Bowser's Road" vibes, except with the ancient Japanese setting.
Instead of a Lava castle we have a sky castle with Jappenese themes in it.
I noticed how the radical left participate in speedrunning.
makes sense
And I love it
AND I LOVE IT
its still freakin’ cool, ngl.
i love the new japanese sky castle take on bowser's castle. really interesting
I really like the humming or singing whatever it is in the beginning
i think they’re some sort of stringed instrument, but i’m not exactly sure. they could be reverbed violins for all we know
@@justahammer they are all japanese instruments. its some sort of flute
@@justahammer there's definitely singing in there. You can hear it
And the theme of Bowser having a flying castle has extended its way to the mainline Mario series
And I love it
And into the movie
This is it…. Not turning back now…. This has to be it!..

You mean a kappa?

that beginning is literally super mario galaxy underground theme
Woah! Oh my!--
Fr to be fair odyssey is basically sm3. Only with a hat
How has nobody said anything about the faint high notes at the beginning?
The little voices?
@@captainv_yt64 Yeah. There is the main one you hear, a lower one, and I think there is a high one too.
Like when this has started
I like this video.
I love Nintendo’s obsession with putting Japanese themed worlds and levels in Mario games
I mean, they are a Japanese company so it makes sense

How has no one pointed out the similarities to Sunshine's final boss theme?
But it’s great.
Wano Country in Mario Odyssey? 🤔🤔🤔

Someone just dislike?
You can see them?!
@@captainv_yt64 If you think about it, the only way they could know somebody disliked is if THEY WERE THE ONE WHO DISLIKED.
There’s always gonna be fans and haters for everything it’s normal at this point so uh-
CHINATOWN!!! I beat the game
And it’s Bowser’s kingdom.
