  • Initially released as a single in 1975 and later included on the 1995 re-release of the Captain Fantastic and The Brown Dirt Cowboy album, Philadelphia Freedom is a fan favorite of Eltons. In this solo piano performance, Elton completely rearranged the song with a more bluesy feel. Arranged by myself, this transcription features as close to note-for-note accuracy as I could.

This is fantastic. Don’t transcribe it, but just look at the performance of this he did in French tv on the studios rig. He had to stand and had no pedal. But he adapted and filled it up. I wonder what it looks like stacked against this.

Just wanted to say, that this is very good work you are doing, shining light on elton's piano chops, I would recommend that you did "Sixty Years On" by the same live that you already have done from. Great job overall!

Hi Joe, sorry for the late response. Right now work on the sheet music is on hold as I am currently very overworked right now at my job due to the holiday season. I'm hoping to resume work in January of 2024. At the moment I am about halfway through the next song transcription which is "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That" live from Roanoke in 1998. If you would like to hear the audio I'm transcribing into music it can be found here: ruclips.net/video/kWwREAoXTTo/видео.html

@@joesamm1190 I began working on it but was unable to hear the bass hand properly. So I moved on to the next song on the list. I'll come back to it eventually when I find a better audio source from a different concert

Intros to this song were always a significant element in the concerts in the '90s, and a little later, it was nice to see it. Some elements resemble the lick from "Stones Thrown from Hurtin'."
I know you have a lot of work, but I would like to ask how I can submit a song request for transcription.
    Cheers

@@eltonsnotes5492 So I insist on killer Sad songs intros from Chicago '88 (ruclips.net/video/kJT9dmIAia0/видео.html) -< know it's hard but it's so cool and unique. And another but shorter from Miami 9/10/1988 (ruclips.net/video/bVBEcvB5cBs/видео.html)
I've listened to almost every sad songs intros and they are the best. You can also consider Choc Ice go Mental - instrumental b-side song from the 80s.

Thank you so much for your tutorials! Would you be so kind to make a tutorial for Elton John's tribute to David Bowie? There's a video of that private concert at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles Jan 13, 2016. There's so much beauty in this piano piece, I strongly recommend you to listen to it if you haven't yet!
