- Y'all! I linked up with two amazing Kenyan mamas to talk all things motherhood! Sheila and Shikie are two powerhouse women raising beautiful babies, doing the things with their respective businesses, all while staying ever-so-fabulous honey! I had a fantastic time collaborating with them for this chit-chat video where we delved into our childhood experiences that shaped the mothers we are today, balancing motherhood and other life aspirations, being a mom in the digital age, motherhood struggles, and a whole lot more! We went IN y'all! Watch as we take you along our journeys as we navigate raising our kids and everything in between.

I watched this video before I had my baby and I'm here a month after delivery and its even more relatable! Motherhood is so hard and unbelievably beautiful at the same time.
I totally agree!
Babies do come with their "plates".... What they don't tell you is that the "plate" is empty and it's for you to fill it up... Awesome discussion..
looooooooooooooooooooolllllll....
😂😂😂
i guess im asking randomly but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I was dumb forgot my password. I love any tips you can give me
@Albert Rodney instablaster :)
@Malakai Valentin Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I am a latina living in US,studying a PhD and thinking in having a child. This talk give me life. It's very nice to listen intelligent women talking about their motherhood. Thank you very muchhhhhhh!
So glad to hear that!
awwww, i LOOOOOOVED this video ladies! It made me realise that 1) I miss Sheila so so so much on these RUclips streets, my word! 2) I think I saw a side of Ijeoma that i didnt know in this video - can't exactly put my finger on it but i love it and 3) Shiki is honestly such a girl's girl, one of my fave girls in Kenyan RUclips. Just turned 25 a week ago and I know I am nowhere near being a mother but I loved this, it was equally insightful and frightening lol.
I clicked on this because a I'm going through it. I have a 5 year old and a 2 month old and am pretty sure that whilst I'm so happy and feel blessed to have them I may have 'baby blues'. It's been overwhelming for me being an M2 (mother of two) and it feels like there's not a lot of people who are willing to listen to the struggles.
Many people will be quick to tell how you shouldn’t complain because kids are a blessing. I mean I’m very grateful but also can you just let me vent? It’s so annoying
yay our Shikie is looking good as always❤
This is bittersweet considering that you're moving back but I appreciate this collaboration
I am not a mum but this was so insightful. Really enjoyed listening to the different perspectives
I'm glad you did!
Love the collaboration with Kenyan vloggers
But why are they sounding so White American though? Give thanks for the girl by the name of Shikk to the left who was so well spoken ,authentic and proud in her entire being . If I was young and looking forward to an African making me proud it would not be the other two, especially ijeoma . Whoosh annoying white accent .
@@bhaktuhlife u do realize ijeoma is an America brought up in America and just temporarily relocated to Kenya like just an year ago 🙄🙄
@@Abebo21 Do you realize she is Nigerian born per her ,it means her formidable years began in Nigeria. There's no excuse to be sounding like a nasal wanna be white chick who was raised by white ppl . Many African Americans born in the country would agree with this greatly. This suppression of self/ tone/ tongue is a global problem Eurocentric educated Blacks are having . Acquiring a White given education should not eradicate your African sound / accent or tone. We can speak English eloquently and not be sounding like a nasal / I lost myself because I am programmed /Educated by white ppl ,do you understand ? This is the global issue and a facet of colonialism that we are facing . No excuse . Be authentic African educated men and women .
@@bhaktuhlife My God. Just shut up!🤦♀️
@@bhaktuhlife who hurt you
Shikie's beautiful is unbelievable. 😍😍
Enjoyed this video,I am a mum of a 20 months old girl and i feel like u was speaking about my life lol. Very very relatable. All I can say is respect to all mums out there,ya'll are heroes no matter yo situation, yes parenting is THE HARDEST JOB in history 👐🏾. That all said I love love and enjoy being a mum and I am thankful because she's everything beautiful 🥰😘😍🧡
I love the open discussions, motherhood ain't easy, always good to hear people talk frankly on the challenges
FINALLY! This is the collab we needed to see 🤩
This is very informative, honestly girls you're doing a wonderful job. Motherhood is no joke, however it's a learning process, we're make mistakes but learn from them..... 😘
Very important conversations that need to happen frequently.
Clicked so fast when I saw Shikie😍😍 from #Over25🇰🇪. Beautiful ladies. Informative episode.
This was so calming and enjoyable to watch. It also highlighted for me what I feel was stripped from so many first time Moms during this pandemic - community! I miss my friends so much (parent non-parent!).
Loved this, thank you ♥️
Necessary conversation, Motherhood is a Journey.
This was a very well structured discussion! Such a beautiful collaboration.❤

Welcome aboard!
Gorgeous ladies 😍
Beautiful conversation ladies. 😊
Thank you! 🤗
I really enjoyed listening to this conversation, it was also very educative. loved the different personalities 🥰 and the compassion you guys showedon here. I’m also wondering, is it really worth it not to know your kids for the sake of hustle?
-
I understand it’s for them but I also notice a lot of current teens and young adults have gone through mental problems, clinical depression and suicide sadly even due to the lack of a proper family structure, not knowing their parents or being friends with them. I think a lot of things which could come from home such a security of love, belonging, affirmation on identity, social & work skills and friendship can and have lacked on a huge level and this has gone on to really affect children.
_
I think also as you & Sheila said the hustle is for them and that’s a love language in itself. I think it’s also an encouragement we can try set boundaries with work so that our kids don’t think, “oh mum loves to work more than she loves to hang out with me,” plus also we can get the opportunity to know our kids and raise them well and confident.
Sheila is so pretty. Gorgeous women.
Kenyan women are gorgeous 😍 OMG.
Yeah we are🤗
Classy, eloquent beautiful ladies in here
Oooh Sheila 😍
We miss you on your Chanel
I can resonate with wanting like 4 kids.till i had one and i was like i am so one and done.then 4yrs later i craved another baby and now expecting in 2months. 😆
Good luck mamy
3 Queens 👸🏽👸🏾👸🏿❤️🖤💚😆
@Ijeoma.......Did you say the hospital bill for Kenya was cheap? or affordable. Please mention good affordable clinic's in Kenya. I find them soooo expensive. I'm a Kenyan who lives in the US. The US has so many programs if you do your research. Most people I know paid $0 for child birth. Medicare....esp during the pandemic. But great topic.......Love seeing naija n kenyan ladies get together.
I didn’t qualify for Medicaid in the US based on my income but paying $4000 out of pocket in Kenya including prenatal visits was cheaper than what my out of pockets costs would’ve been in the US even with insurance.
I enjoyed it.
Love your glasses. Do you mind telling us were you buy them.
Hey Micadoh! My glasses are from Utenzi Miller!
@@IjeomaKolaYT thank you for replying.
Great convo- Thanks for your honesty I wonder how much a live vs daytime in nanny cost in Kenya
Having a live-in or day bug is more of a lifestyle/convenience choice in Kenya. The salaries range from $100-$150 per month, quite affordable compared to developed counties .
honestly sometimes it depends on your income .Some pay 60 dollars per month for a nanny some pay 100 to 150 dollars per month like the comment states above.
very very good one lovely
Love this trio❤️
Yo, i'm only having one and i'm done. My pregnancies are the worst!!! Absolutely traumatic. I've had 2 misscarriages. However, i'm on my third pregnancy and i'm glad it's successfull. The problem is, i grt deathly ill (Heyperemisis Gravidarum) right from 5 weeks and need hospitalization etc. So i'm over it. I'm just done coz it has taken a toll on both my physical and mental health. The only good thing is i'm in a country where all my healthcare is free.
The queen herself.
They all are
Really enjoying this convo and im not even a mom lol
The powerful three
💖💖💖💖everything about this
This is very informative. Thank you Ladies!
Glad it was helpful!
Black beautiful women
This Collab was everything I wish you would do a different video
Sheila you've been missed. Why did you quit youtube?
Please do it again
💝
The girl in the middle looks like a brown skin Lauren hill 😍😍
💛💛🇰🇪🇰🇪
12 month old child🤤🤤 just say 1 year old. Stop complicating life Sheila 😂
sheila looks strangely zoned out, like she's not comfortable
Beautiful afrohair. Pure confidence ! than fake wig women with selfhatred and mental chains
Educated, intelligent women, huh?
But all consider marriage and fatherhood optional.
Scary.
@ijeoma ,can you atleast speak naturally like Shiki does ? It is so ears irksy and annoying to hear the coerced accents . Everyone knows that even after living in the USA or any white owned country ,the culture will attach itself to you but good gosh you have return to the beautifulllllll motherland now please speak normally. Why are we on here suppressing our African tones and tongues speaking nasally to appeal to social medias ears . Be yourselves and be be authentic all subscribers will like you when you do so . These nasal white girl twanging and sounds is so harsh to the ears . Do better and stop suffocating your accent, colonialism of the physical is over ,it is time to undo the mind.
Just stop watching the videos if it bothers you. It’s not by force sha
@@IjeomaKolaYT I know what you mean but if only you could speak like this . The Eurocentric nasal talking is simply not cutting it hun . I agree with you however .
@@bhaktuhlife it's 7 months later, but, she has lived in the US since her childhood, this IS how she speaks
