ONF used to have 7 members, but their maknae Laun sadly left last year (“for personal reasons” according to WM) after “We Must Love”... he had a major role in their storyline, so it’s unsure whether they keep going with the original plot or not.
And the reason why people say their storyline is complicated, is because their MVs are not in a chronological order and their storyline involves time travel, dimensions, clones, androids... So when we see a member in a MV, we can’t know for sure if it’s the same version as the one in their 2nd MV (for example) or the same one at timestamp [...]. 😅
There are many theories about ONF’s concept, but the most popular one is that they’re a group of friends who encounter a problem, that leads to them being stuck in different eras and/or dimensions.
"Sukhumvit Swimming" supposedly shows the dreams each member is having while time traveling. It's linked to their other MVs, like a reflection of the reality each member is facing and a warning towards their future (“Spin Off” is the name of their mini album, so SS is basically a “side story” that adds more infos to their ongoing main story) + many scenes and elements are present in their other MVs too.
I could write an explanation of each character’s arc (although those would be all my thoughts), but I’m afraid it would be too long + there would be some “spoilers” of MVs you haven’t watched yet...
I suggest you to check out “Why”, which is their most recent comeback besides “Sukhumvit Swimming”. It’s a song that perfectly depicts desperation while keeping the idea of a division between androids and humans + the MV features beautiful natural shots, along with top notch acting skills from the members.

They KICKED ASS In “Road to Kingdom”. Their vocals, their arrangements are God Tier. Their sound is uniquely theirs. ONF have a really sci-fi concept since debut including androids, time travel, spaceships, alternate dimensions. They are traveling time and space searching for keys to open a door to a new better world. Whether that be another dimension, a different time, another planet - we are still waiting to find out.💡
