Beautiful instructions!! For a person unfamiliar with squid, worked like a charm!! Thank you so much ❤😊
Very clear and detailed explanation with a smile. Stay Blessed !
I will get down to clean the small squids
Thankful for having your channel!
Thank you for being a great teacher.
Thank you so much. My husband just learned how to prepare squid. It was so good. Thankfully I don't have to wait for him to come home again to eat squid. Your instructions were easy.
Yes thank you for the great demonstration I was a little overwhelmed at first with the idea of preparing the squid but now after watching you I believe I can prepare the squid/calamri on my own now thank you so much for doing this video
Good video! I cleaned and prepared my squids with this. 👍👍

Marion, your videos have been helping me sooo much learning to cook during the quarantine. And being an Indonesian, your recipes are so applicable for me. Today I’ve just learn to clean squids! 😍 Sincerely, I thank you!
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
Super helpful! Love it
That plasticy stuff is called a cuticle! :) Thank you for doing this video. My mom, did these but I didn't know about the "skin removal"! Cheers,
caught a squid last night, dispatched quickly followed this and it was better than any restaurant !
Great video makes the job so simple
Spot on, concise, exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
good and simple and to the point. it was nice
Thank you, this is very helpful.
LOVE it Great job
The “plastic” is often referred to as the feather and the tough bit between the base of the tentacles is called a beak.
Great advice about scoring the inside of the squid rather than the outside! Another great tip for your viewers is to marinade the squid with a slice or two of Kiwi fruit, 1/2 hour or more.............really tenderises it.
loving your videos!
Thanks a lot, loved it
Thanks for this 😃! Will definitely try it your way... 🤗🥰☺️
Good video! Love your channel and the way you present !
Aw thank you!!! And I've been checking out your channel too! I like your clear instructions and yummy recipes :-)
Very well explained
Thanks Marion well explained
Most handy video!
We were given some squid and it sat in our freezer for quite some time because we were afraid to clean it. Finally I pulled on my big girl pants, watched your video, and did the dirty deed! Thoughts? It was amazingly easy, LOL!! Our squid seemed to be much much smaller, which might explain why I only found one piece of 'plastic' per squid. My fins were tiny so I didn't both trying to separate them from the removed skin- they all got tossed- and I rinsed my tube out after removing the skin but before cutting. But ultimately easy peasy; thank you for the clear concise video for us newbies!!
Hi I love to try squid thanks for your recipe..
Many thanks for all those precious advices. It really helps on the meal preparation. Keep up the good work with your videos.
Hey thanks Sebastien! :-)
Great video
Omg... that was mind blowing... thank you so much... ☺☺☺
It's called the "gladius" or "pen". It's what's left of the outer shell from millions of years of evolution.
and the flaps?
60
The flaps are actually the fins of the squid used for swimming.
So nice
Thank you so much! Really helped me improve my cooking!
Thanks Marion 💐🇬🇧❤
Excellent video, squid is one of my favourite foods. Totally agree with you about the legs; luckily, my friends can be a bit nervous about eating anything that even remotely suggests that it was once an animal, so I get them to myself most of the time! :D Trying to educate them, though! Love your videos and charming voice!
What legs?
Thank you~~~
Imagine in some distant galaxy squids watching a squid on squidtube doing this to a human
Gorgeous!!🥰
Thanks 🙏
Nice
Thanks for this, squid is the only ‘fish’ I was ever able to catch but I always released them as I didn’t know how to deal with them 🦑
MaZEEZaM I LOVE squid fishing! That’s one of the reasons I taught myself to clean and prep them myself.
@@Marionskitchen Do you know how to despatch them humainly then?
@@MaZEEZaM squid spike 3 places
Wow I didn't know it would be a piece of cake to clean the squid
Tip: Tenderize calamari - marinate overnight in buttermilk. 😊
Thanks
Do you wash the squid with water at all before or after cutting it?
I cooked last night calamari.. The taste is good but the looks is so disgusting because its too black😂😂😂.. I dont know how clean up. And now.. Im so amazed peeling the squid.. Thank you mam for sharing this video.. It helps me a lot❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
How long should you cook or fry squids?
Thanks alot. I used to get da cleaned 1 always. But now i know to manage uncleaned 🤪
Thank you for how to cut it
Would you need to flip the head inside out? Sometimes there is a slimy residue inside no?
😍
Hey Marion I thought there was a ciear membrane inside squid that had to be removed. Is that true or not
hello, so you notice a yellow tinge on the body of the squid sometimes, it looks like really small eggs, do you know what that is?
😁👍
How do you wash the squid?
my squid all had some kind of white fleshy lumpy ball inside the tube. it looked edible, like white fish meat (or squid meat) but i just threw it out. no idea what it was. it wasn't attached to anything, i didn't need to cut it out.
No vinegar to remove the smell?
🧤
1:22 That’s a *gladius*
I finally found it, woo hoooooo,
How to preserve in fridge?
some call that plastic pc the "cuttle bone"
Splatoon
What a waste if throwing that ink sac...
You can make use for Paella, Spaghetti dying...Risotto...
That will make your whole meal be more subtle saltiness and that unexplainable umaminess...😂😅
A novice as I am. I just air fried 400 grams of those without peeling or cutting them first :( Well the skin burned into flesh and the pieces just shrank :( Theyre wasted..
I think the plastic thing inside of the squid is its bones!
Matt Syljuberget No, it is not.
Calamari is so much more expensive. ... Any difference in prep?
the clear plastic thing is called a "quill"
Can you eat the guts?
Why did she leave some skin on the fin? Bad
It is visible that she is not a pro in squid cleaning)))
Great vid but two things:
The "plastic" bit I think is called the "beak"
Ditch the background music, really irritating.
If you have caught squid yourself, I find it hard to believe you don't know about the quill and the beak. A bit more respect and knowledge about the animal you are cutting up and eating would have made the video more enjoyable. Nice to see the technique demonstrated though.
OMG learn at least basics about pieces of animal you cook, this is a bit embarrassing.
You want to demonstrate better?
